How is this possible??!!!…read more Unbelievably stocked guitar store and repair shop. Here in little old Wilmington. You can even get guitar lessons!! I could spend all day here listening to Gino Stories. I brought a 40-year-old bass here because the guitar tech in the back of the shop is phenomenal and regionally renowned. If not nationally. Despite being completely booked, he found time to tune it up a little bit and give me some great advice on my next purchase. I found this place on the recommendation of a small store in woburn center. The front of the store is all guitars and gear and gino. Yes there is a Gino at least I think that's his name. There are probably at least fifty or seventy five beautiful guitars and basses for purview and plucking, but you have to be very careful. Gino provides a great illustrious story for each instrument. And will talk endlessly about them. You can tell that he is a consummate guitarist end musician. Very outgoing. And communicative. I bought an old Ampeg cabinet a pedal and a soft-case for my bass. Very reasonable prices. Very reasonable advice. Fantastic selection. Not to mention the genius in the back of the store that can find a fix for anything and knows everything about anything guitar. Easily worth a 45 mlnute or more long drive to get here. You won't be disappointed even if you walk out of here empty handed. The place is a music school, museum and an ICU for stringed instruments electric and acoustic. One of a kind without a doubt. Is it the eighth wonder of the world? Probably not, but definitely belongs in Ripley's. You'll see, check it out

The expertise at Darrell's is unparalleled. We made two visits, and Adam greeted us with a warmth and vast understanding that strengthened our knowledge and helped us to feel, always, that the decision was up to us. His follow-through from beginning to end is the kind of customer service one always hopes to have, in every exchange. Highly recommended.

I was more impressed with the service at Indie Music than at pretty much any other local business…read moreI've frequented. I was in the market for an acoustic-electric guitar upgrade. I shopped the larger chains and did a lot of online research before going to Indie Music. At the larger chains, I felt pressured every time I went to go try out some guitars. At Indie Music, that wasn't the case. I walked in and had the guitar room pretty much to myself to try out the different acoustics. There was no pressure to buy or answer a bunch of questions about what I was looking for. When I finally narrowed down the selection to 2 guitars, they were very helpful answering any questions that I had. They even went so far as to pull out several different guitars of the same model, out of the boxes, to show that each guitar may sound slightly differently. I was so impressed by their knowledge and friendliness that I bought my new guitar on the spot. They even gave me a good deal on my trade in. The day after I purchased my guitar was super cold and the humidity dropped to almost 0. 3 strings on the 13th and 14th frets wouldn't play. They told me to bring it right in and they made adjustments on the spot to get it working. I was told to keep them updated and bring it back so that they could get the guitar tuned in correctly. I'd recommend Indie Music to anyone!

The service call went smoothly, two plumbers/technicians did get to the root of the problem and a new electronic board needed to be ordered. I was immediately charged $320 for a service call that lasted about an hour. Several days later two plumbers/technicians returned with the new electronic boards and some other items that needed to be replaced. I was presented with a bill/estimate for $2,100 with no itemization and when asked I was told their customers like things to be "kept simple." In this way they can supply as many technicians as needed without worrying about costs... Logic does not add up. So, they are competent and have fixed my problem, but I have issue with their honesty. You can make your own decision but, be sure to get a few estimates for your job.

The shop is crowded with "stuff" but light, bright and well organized so its a pleasure to shop. They have a great selection of feet and accessories for a variety of machine brands. They also have a selection of used machines. I picked up a reasonably priced second hand machine that runs smooth as silk. They offer a year of free service (parts extra) should anything go wrong with their used machines which I found very reasonable. I was told turn around for general service and cleaning of a sewing machine is roughly a week, a better quote than anyone else gave me. They were also very specific about *how* to bring in your machine - I don't need to bring the power cord and foot for my newer model but I should make sure the foot and throat plate are appropriate for zig-zag stitching. I should bring power cord and foot for my serger (a brand they don't carry) and it should be threaded for a standard 4 thread overlock. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I am tickled pin to have found this gem.
