So when I heard of picking citrus from a variety of species of trees all in place, I naturally said, "Yes please!" Trees and citrus available, all in varying amounts and dependent on the harvest, are as follows: tangerine, blood orange, orlando tangelo, minneola tangelo, oro blanco grapefruit, kumquat, valencia orange, meyer lemon, Lisbon lemon, and a whole lot more. The place used to be a research grove, operated by the University of Arizona, so there is a large variety here. So come enjoy it while it lasts. You never know when this land will turn into houses.

They grafted some tress which I find interesting. Grafting means they intertwined 2 different types of plants matter to make one out of a single tree. You will find lemons and oranges on the same tree. Pretty cool. A con is that the smaller kid activities is way on the other side from the bigger kid activities so if you have kids of different ages, you have one bored and just hanging until the other is done in their section. The food was decent for the most part. The funnel cake bites, turkey leg, and kettle corn were good. The elote corn was eh. The food was decently priced. To get in is $20 each which to me, is a little pricey. There should be kid pricing in my opinion. Parking is ok. They did let a car in front of us hold the line up to wait for a car to leave but when we tried to do it, they made us move. Understandable but rules should be the same for everyone. Most staff was nice. On the way out, they asked about taking a family photo. We declined. My son was on the props I guess (it wasn't labeled and no one was there taking pictures) and one staff was like "this is where we take our pictures just so you know." That was interesting. Maybe post a sign. Not my top pick, but it was a decent time.

I never received a list of cuts included in that box, which is what you need to get before ordering. I figured all these tiny or weird cuts of meat came to $12.50 per pound and I will include a picture of the "shank steak". If a restaurant served me such a thing, I would walk out. I would estimate that, while the hamburger was very good, the rest of the cuts were 50% bone, gristle, fat and 25% wrapping paper. I started documenting each piece, until I realized it was going to be a total lost cause. Shank "steak" is a cross section of a cow's leg--looks disgusting and is full of inedible gristle--and since don't have a dog it ended up in the trash. You'll get a much better deal at Fry's where the meat will be edible or you'll get your money back.

Parking: can be a bit nerve wracking, especially parking in the dirt lots east of the place. You have to walk across 32nd St & if you know Phoenix drivers, this can be dangerous. There is a pedestrian light now, though, so that helps -- but oddly enough, there's no "walk" signage. It's merely a blinking yellow light for north- sound-bound traffic so you have to pray to the universe drivers are paying attention & actually stop for you. Ordering: a bit odd. The main door we went in was more the middle door that didn't really take you to the beginning. There's a drink station then the food station. We skedaddled to the right of the main doors for the drink order, only to discover there's another door that people walk through to place orders. So we joggled w/ another customer trying to figure out who was there first. It honestly felt like a school cafeteria, a bit chaotic, as well as cramped. The patio was pretty large & well shaded, but it was also full -- and this particular day also the ONLY SHADE. We were left to sit at one of their many tables on the grounds with no shade. Food: not worth the $77 we paid. I get it's a working farm, & though we try to support local as much as possible, the food we ordered was not good enough that we will stop by again. The strawberry fields salad was a typical salad, no wow factor there. The Italian sammy was dry. There was a minuscule amount of some kind of dressing on it, but def not enough. Dessert: red velvet whoopie pie was so overpriced it's not funny. If it tasted great, I wouldn't complain...it did not taste great. The pecan pie was abysmal; not enough filling and very bland.
