***UPDATE: It gets…read moreeven worse. After being stonewalled for days regarding my paid CSA pickup, I called again today. A woman at the farm attempted to aggressively gaslight me, screamed over me while I was trying to speak, refused to issue a refund for services not rendered, and arbitrarily canceled my active subscription without my consent. To top it off, right before hanging up on me, I heard her laughing to her coworker in the background saying, "I'm not talking to her!" That tells you everything you need to know about the maturity level and character of the trashy people running this place. I am officially reporting this business to the BBB and filing a chargeback with my bank. If you are considering subscribing to this CSA, save yourself the money, the headache, and the wasted gas. *********************************************************** If you are considering subscribing to this CSA, save yourself the money, the headache, and the wasted gas. Blue Sky Organic Farms loves to lean into the warm, fuzzy narrative of "local farm" and "community-supported agriculture," but their actual operation is a complete joke. What good is supporting local if the Folx running it don't actually know how to be in community? Over the course of trying to get basic information regarding my weekly pickup, I reached out through every single channel provided: the designated CSA line, the farm store number, Instagram, and even their restaurant/wholesale line (which, embarrassingly, is a dead line). Not a single person answered. To make matters worse, when messages did go through, I was repeatedly left on read. A few weeks ago, I had to waste an hour of my day driving 40 minutes out of my way to the physical store just to get basic questions answered because their customer service department is utterly non-existent (a fact that even their own front-desk worker acknowledged with total confusion and annoyance). Taking people's money and then stonewalling them when they ask simple, necessary questions about the service they paid for is negligent, amateurish, and fundamentally disrespectful. They should be thoroughly ashamed of how makeshift, disorganized, and dismissive this entire operation is. Do not fall for the "support local" marketing--these people do not care about community, and they certainly don't care about their customers. Go to WINCO!

Especially since Arizona is growing so fast that many of these fields are being torn down to develop more homes. There is an entrance fee of $9 per person plus tax. There are a few food trucks set up for snacks. The main thing is an area with activities for the littles and fun stuff like roping with some hay bales. The real wow factor is large areas perfect for fall photos including a sunflower patch, pumpkins and cotton fields. They are fine if you walk in between the plants but most people seem respectful of the natural beauty and are pretty careful with the landscape. Our family had a great time here and it was fun for our tween and teen. Never too old for pumpkins I know our photographer got some amazing family photos too.

For the…read morepast three years, we've been getting all of our chicken feed, pig feed and alfalfa #2 from Olsens here in town. We decided to try Bales because the prices of the alfalfa were lower, and I'm glad we did! The bales of alfalfa #2 that we were getting from Olsens are riddled with leaf shatter and my pigs were not as interested. I was able to find a better type of chicken feed for my heavy producers instead of having to supplement with oyster shell (less bags of feed in the garage & time saving is more convenient!) my pigs are enthralled with the alfalfa #2 thick flakes tightly packed that they love to root through and tear apart, it's so much better than Olsens that my chickens are even interested and love to dig and scratch through it. I use the leftover inedible part of the alfalfa as bedding so I get a double benefit! Not too much waste but what is will be used! We will be using this feed store for our farm babies from here on out!
