Yesterday, I visited Merlin's Magical Place and my experience didn't go as expected. Previously I had visited the shop as a means to support a small local business. I booked a tarot reading for both me and my sister. Previously, I was told that the readings were about 30 minutes long and the store owner had also expressed to me how great of a tarot reader his wife was. As a tarot reader my self I rarely ever left just anyone read for me, however because I felt the store owners and I could genuinely tell he was a great person I decided to receive a tarot reading from his wife (who I've never meet). Me and my sister booked our appointments and promptly came into the shop with the hopes that the reader (his wife) could give us a reading. During the reading his wife stated that I had been going through a depression because of a death in my family of someone who was close to me, which unbeknownst to me I have not been affected by a death in my family to the point of depression or even sadness as I view death from a more understanding perspective. She also stated how I have wanted kids or may have kids (I don't) and how I have previously been in a miscarriage which has also given me some sort of sadness ( I have never had a miscarriage or have even gotten pregnant.) To say the least, the reading was disappointing. The only good thing about it was that she could answer questions that were accurate but very short. As a tarot reader I consider myself to be in tune with my readings and the person I am reading for which also allows me to go in depth and receive messages clairaudiently from the spirit realm. However, she pulled about half the deck and the reading was done within less than 6 minutes before she started asking me if I had any questions. My biggest pet peeve as a reader is not giving my client the clarity and detail that they deserve. It is both a waste of time for the reader and the querent if there is not much meaning to what you are doing. I have only been reading for a few years however readers with 20+ years of experience have complimented me saying how accurate and detailed I was. Moreover, I was really seeking clarity on certain issues in my life and I believed that this was going to help me understand my situation better however it only left me questioning the reader and the validity of their skills.
Another problem I had is that it seems like the cards weren't cleansed before the reading because my sister soon got a reading and after she spoke to me about how mostly everything the reader was saying didn't resonate with her but it seemed to resonate with me. After my sister explained further how she was very accurate when giving her the reading (aka my reading). To explain, the reader was telling my sister how she doesn't want to be in school, however my sister is currently going to school to become a doctor and also how she wants to be a housewife or stay at home mom later in life (which is my plan after getting my degree and settling down). Long story short, the reading wasn't for her and me and her both understood that so I decided to call the shop owner to tell him the situation. When I began the shop owner seemed confused and kept saying "this has never happened before". I was fine with that but wanted to know what further actions they would take to rectify the situation. The shop owner seemed very hesitant to even give any solutions and basically told me that "I don't know what can be done" so a customer service professional myself suggested that I could come in for another reading which he also responded to with hesitancy. The thing I hate the most is that they were never hesitant with taking my money and giving me the reading but when I told them my problem they were hesitant to find a solution. I deem that as very unprofessional. Anyways, when I was finally about to give up and call it a day, the store owner's wife (the reader) suggested that I could come back in two weeks for another reading. However, I am now politely declining as I should never even have to suggest for there to be a solution to rectify read more
