Just Subs has some of the best subs around. The bread is nice and fresh and available in both white and wheat varieties. Their meat selection is good and contains all of the standards (hams, turkeys, roast beef, cheeses, etc). They have a good selection of condiments and side dishes as well. The staff is friendly and fast. The only caveat is you must pay with cash only, however there is an ATM on site. 9/2013 Edit: They now take credit cards! read more

This place is good upon first impression - fresh, inexpensive, convenient, nice variety of cold cuts. I would put it pretty close to Tastee Subs in Edison. It's on the verge of being a 4 but I need another sub or two to convince me. I noticed the portions were pretty light for a place that specializes in subs. Take Jersey Subs for example in New Brunswick where they stack up cold cuts. Next time I go I'll have to make it a double and take it from there. This has become our weekend sub spot and we are very happy here. The staff doesn't turn over fast and the sandwiches are consistently good. No hard or stale bread here. Lots of sandwich options and soups. Their homemade macaroni salad is awesome!! My family loves the cole slaw too. I like that you can get to know the employees here. Placed an order over the phone. Asked for order to be repeated just to make sure order was not wrong, due to orders being wrong multiple times from the greenbrook location. Mr. F is going to agree with other recent reviewers, this place is stingy on the meats & cheeses. Ordered some sandwiches the other day. Based off fellow Yelpers, Mr. F decided to pay up for extra meat and cheese on one of the sandwiches. Got home and did not notice a difference in the extra meat & cheese vs. the regular one. Dear whoever runs Just Subs over the past 2 or so years, I have ceased coming here a few months ago, and I will not be coming back. I have gone to Just Subs ever since I moved away from Tastee Subs, for 14 years now. I would frequent your store all of the time. Multiple times per month. I loved the local deli feel, the fast service, the selection of drinks. Over the past 2 years, I noticed that suddenly the subs -- whether it be a Super Sub or a Tuna -- were stingy. Barely any tuna, meat or cheeses, which makes you feel like it isn't worth the travel or cost. The proportion of bread to filling is so off that is does not taste good any longer. A Jersey Mike's just opened 2 minutes down the road from where I live. They pack on the meats, cheeses or tuna, and are priced similarly. I am a sub snob: I have only ever gotten subs at Tastee or Just Subs my entire life. It pained me to try a chain restaurant. But guess what? Their subs are always fresh, served with friendly customer service and it's convenient in both location and price. I have converted. I am really sad to post this, but like I have stated... I am not going back to Just Subs. I hope you learn from the reviews on here, see outside of your own business opinions and can continue running. Good luck! read more

The best part for me, though, is that I'm kind of picky with my lunch meat and they're the first place I've found that carries exactly what I like (honey ham and honey turkey)! My friend and I walk into the new building of just subs the other day and I was annoyed. My friend orders his sub and then I order mine right after him. He then says can that be a half. She nodded and then I said can mine be a whole (so I can eat one now wrap one for later). She said so a half and whole. I said yes. As we are watching our subs be made (mine has provolone, lettuce, etc) I notice a half sub that has same cheese, lettuce I'm like that persons sub looks similar too mine. Then I start seeing the pickles and the condiments and I'm like wait is that mine. And with in second wrapped up and the workers says $19.21. She made me in one and a half. Let me ask you something who orders a a half and a whole? who? who? I said clear as day "I want a whole". What sense does that make. Other times I've went in there other workers would ask me how much cheese do you want on this sandwich, would you want your sub to be a half or a whole, any oils or condiments. She didn't ask a thing. And I had to pay, it would have been her word against mine because I said yes to a half and a whole when I thought she was talking to us collectively. So i use to go to get subs from here all the time over the years they have given smaller amounts of meats on there subs and for the price you can go to other local deli's and sub shops and get way better service and better sandwiches. I went there tonight and they messed the 2 sandwiches up so i drove back there for them to get replaced because it wasnt what i ordered they the guy got instantly annoyed that he had to redo them. One he started to replace them he put very little meats on both sandwiches and to be honest wasnt even worth the drive back. I just wish they would go back to there old routes and go back to the way they use to be with alot of meat on there subs and way better customer service. It was my first time going to this sub place and off the bat I knew it was a no go because their veggies aren't refrigerated they are just in an aluminum bowl. Still, my boyfriend said it was really good so I chose my own turkey ham and Swiss sub. Ate it at 8:30 and by 3 am I had the most horrible stomach pain. I stayed up all night with stomach cramps. By 3 PM I had a fever chills I was throwing up. I had to go to the doctors. Turns out I had food poisoning. I called up to let them know I had food poisoning off their food and that I wanted my bf to get his money back. He was rude, didn't apologize and said it wasn't their food. I will not stop telling EVERYONE about how awfully sick I got eating there. First time and I ended up missing a day of work with the worse stomach pain I've ever had. Person who took care of me was very nasty Order 4 subs for a gathering I was hosting and the sub was all bread lettuce tomato and onion. Had to look for the tuna fish. Never will buy from here again I don't need to deal with nasty, rude, workers when I am spending money. People like these who obviously hate people, hate their jobs, or both, have no business dealing with customers. I went tonight to pick up two sandwiches for friends and am new to the establishment. I walked up to the counter and waited for someone to acknowledge me. There were no other customers in the store. Finally, one of the three young men asked me what I wanted. I give him my order and first thing he does is bark at me "HALF OR WHOLE!?" I tell him what I want on my sandwich and then the second guy asks me again because I guess one is in charge of meats and the other does all the toppings. No problem, I tell him again. Second guy then rings me up, tells me the total and so I put my credit card on the counter. Now I get attitude from the second guy - he tells me to pick up my credit card. I pick it up and then he moves the sandwich to a specific place on the counter. I guess my "huge" credit card was so in his way that he had to tell me to move it so he could put the sandwich exactly where he wanted. Can't mess up his routine - after all, there were so many customers and the counter was so full?? What an absolute jerk! The employees made me so unwelcome that I will never go back. The owner should be ashamed that he/she employs such jerks. read more
