NJ Deli on a budget- Just Subs Greenbrook Rt22 Eastbound. This deli moved locations 100 yards off rt 22 to directly behind their old location. Clean restaurant, unless you look closely behind the displays and one will notice continual tertiary cleanings that don't really quite do the job. Friendly staff, laid back to the point of long lines forming at lunchtime - as opposed to a usually well staffed Jersey Mikes. Food: bread is dry, dry, dry! And tasteless - bad bread being a cardinal sin in a NJ Deli. Much preferred is a local, real Italian deli, for better bread. Second rate Dietz & Watson cold cuts served as opposed to much more desirable Boars Head. Cold cuts thin, can barely taste amongst the dry bread and LTO/ dressings. The oil they use is not only cheap but offensively BAD Final assessment: While their quality is low, they hiked a ham and cheese sandwich up to $8.15! I say raise your level of deli expectation and spend the money on a real deli and skip the Just Subs Chain. There are plenty of Italian delis around. Lunch experience here completely devoid of taste - just fills the stomach. read more

Just Subs - it's all in the name. 90-95% of their business is just subs. All the time, repetitive. I ordered 1/2 sub and requested mayo. That's it. No other deviations. It's my lunch break from work, my time. I chose to eat food from Just Subs. Been there many times. This is the second time the mayo was excluded. There was only a whisper of dressing, so I had to choke down the driest sub, in order to get some hunger relief. I tipped as well - I always do. It's sad read more

Buyer beware! Just picked up 3 sandwiches ( Michael Sch.) Barely any steak on cheesesteak, called when we got home. They offered us a half sandwich when we come back in. Sorry, not acceptable. We get sandwiches here on a regular basis. Very disappointed. read more

A whole number 4 was $16 with 4 or 5 types of meat and cheese. A half tuna was about $8. Hardly any meat. Everything else was bland. Surprised to see they use already cook microwave tiny bacon strips that they heat up. 3 strikes and I'm out. Can't believe the place was crowded.. The reviews are truly unfair. This place is JUST for subs. Don't come here expecting a spiritual connection. This is JUST SUBS! It says it on the sign. When the sign says psychologist, that's the place to go spill your guts. Virtually any meat combo on a roll is assigned a number and that is how you order. Not... what's good today? Or I'll have the usual. Why come here and drop your hot takes getting all critical? Just. Freaking. Subs. Good bread, clean store, and a TV with sound on... so it's not all quiet where you feel like you need to make small talk. read more

I loved this place on the first visit, which is why I've kept going back. I've now been back about 4 more times and each time they've gotten my order wrong. Today I was sure to say " all the toppings" to ensure that I'd get everything on my sub. "Even the ones from the back?" The girl asked. I said yes, and extra olives and pickles. Got home with my sub, and the only toppings were olives and pickles. What happened to "all the toppings" and "even the ones from the back"? There are more toppings than just olives and pickles. I don't understand what they don't understand. Very annoying and disappointed!! read more

I recently visited this place... I was very pleasantly surprised .. The Cold Cuts were fresh and tasty. I tried a new sandwhich .. The 2nd Spano.. Very Very Tasty.. I highly recommend .. The mix of the pepper from the turkey, oregano and spiced mustard was sooooo good. I will be back read more

I should have read the reviews before I visited this location! I have been to the "Just subs in Greenbrook" several times. The first time the sandwich was amazing. Everything was fresh & I liked that they use good quality meats. I typically drive about 25 minutes to this location, which I don't mind if the service & food is worth it. About a month ago, my & husband I agreed that the bread didn't taste fresh on a sandwich we ordered. We decided to let it go. This was our first time ordering a wheat roll & thought maybe that was the reason. Yesterday, My daughter & I purchased turkey and cheese sandwiches on a regular roll. She took the first bite of her sandwich and mentioned that the bread was stale. I also had the same issue with mine. So I decided called the location just to inform the manager, to make him aware for future customers. I spoke to Mike the owner/manager and instead of him being open to hearing my concern he was nasty, rude, curt, and insisted that I wasn't telling the truth because the bread was fresh. Terrible customer service! I will never ever visit this establishment again. If you want good food, service & customer service, you won't go here either! read more

Just Subs in Greenbrook (Kramer Avenue) is an OK sub place if I'm traveling on Rt. 22. They don't give you alot of meats on it, but it's still tasty. They have more soups - variety though than other Just Subs locations. It's an OK place read more

owner and staff was very rude. I was threatened to be killed by an employee for leaving a bad review. openly admitted to being rude to customers if they complain about anything regarding their business. was told to go to the gym and work on leg day due to my appearance. have everything recorded. do not eat here !! police was called on me for simply letting the owner know how to get better reviews on Google and told me he doesn't like me but doesn't even know me. entire staff was rude read more

Business responded that they opened in a new location of the highway. One star for that. The new place is very clean and the subs are quite large for the money. Three stars for that. But--the place always smells weird inside. Minus one star for that. Three stars. Put some Febreeze in the outlets and it might go back up to four. read more

Subs are great. Only problem, I ordered a #2, and got charged for a #4. Ordered a #9 got charged for cheese on it. That's $1.50 more than what I ordered. If they do that to everybody, everyday, that's a lot of $. Watch those charges. read more

I've been sending my father to this place to pick up 3ft party subs for years. Since he's gone now RIP I had to get it myself yesterday. The first thing I noticed yesterday was the smell. It smells so freaking good in there! Fresh bread, fresh ingredients just yum! About the food: We only get the giant subs but man are they delish. I like that there are no frills - lettuce, tomato cheese and meat and the other toppings - onions, olives, oil, sweet peppers and hot pepper paste - come on the side so you can diy. Nothing worse than a sandwich overpowered by onions. We had 3 ft of roast beef/turkey/veggie. I don't eat meat and was skeptical that a just veggie sub would be good but because of the way you can build your own sandwich it turned out to be perfect. I served the sub at 6pm for 5 people. We also had ziti and 2 dishes from the chinese place. By 8pm the sub was gone. I think that says it all. read more

I really don't know how to explain my love for this place. It is not fancy, but so freaking good and I think they put crack in their onions. I frequent Just Subs about 3x a month. I always get the same thing: half whole wheat, honey roasted turkey, white american cheese with everything except oil & mayo. That plus the reduced fat Cape Cod potato chips is a party in my mouth!!!! The service here is excellent and the guys are so sweet. Just a note: I think Tastee's is SUPER overrated and I'm not a fan. read more

Good subs. Need to improve customer relations or clarity on the menu. Ordering without calling is difficult.

Like the name, the food and the process of ordering said food is simple. This is just subs, and the establishment does a great job at making them. I came during lunch hours about two weeks ago and had a great time. The line looked long but the staff worked quickly and efficiently to make sure everyone got to order and eat in a timely fashion. I got a half pastrami sub with everything on it. It was a very good sub, and I plan to come back here if I'm ever in New Jersey. read more

If there's not 5 stars for this place there shouldn't be any places with it. I've been coming here for 10+ years - I'm a local. This is a great deli, you'll walk in spending $7.00 and get a full, awesome lunch. Plus they're open all day. The guys that work here have really dedicated their time to become masters at this craft. Get anything, but my favorite is either the Super Italian or Pastrami and Swiss Toasted (got the BLT today for the first time - excellent) April 6, 2016 read more

I found the "Subway" of cheese steaks. The bread is good because that's all you get on these sad sandwiches. Had the "super" Italian with barely any meat like Subway. They had no onions for cheese steak or sub, but didn't bother to say anything until after I paid and they were dressing the sandwiches Call them just not trying to make good subs. read more

Walked in fifteen minutes before closing to four boys standing around doing NOTHING but was given major attitude because they had to "put the slicer back together." I was under the impression that if you go by a business's hours of operation, as long as you show up within that time frame it shouldn't be perfectly fine. This place is never packed no matter the time I drive by (Starbucks is next-door) so I don't think they can afford to turn away business. They definitely lost me though. And the quality is average at best. You're better off to hit your local deli instead. Do better guys. read more

I wish I would've check the most recent reviews before giving this place a chance. I prefer subs that have a good amount of meat on them. That wasn't the case here. There was very little meat and good amount of dry bread. To top it off, I asked for everything thing on it, expecting some flavor, but the subs were very plain. I will stick to my regular spots. read more

I literally just got off the phone with this location as I was talking to the person that was taking my order he was speaking very sarcastic and just wasn't being friendly OR giving me good customer service attitude. I said "I would like a ham sandwich with everything on it, so mayo letucce tomato-" cuts me off and says I know what everything is.. I said "oh.. okay" he then asks "under what name" and I say "Arnold" he says "okay" AND HANGS UP. I didn't even finish talking or finish telling this guy what else I wanted for my order. SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I love just subs restaurants but THIS restaurant in Greenbrook is done for me. I also called 8 min later (based on my call log) and asked to speak to the manager to explain how I felt with the "employee" that took my order and he says "I took your order" so the manager was the one that gave me horrible service, was rude a disrespectful and was STILL disrespectful when I called to make a complaint. I told him to "please cancel my order" and he says "sure we didn't even start your order" and this was 8 minutes after. Please don't deal with this restaurant. Ashamed read more

The Marinara for the meatball sub is horrible, They should just use jarred Ragu or something comparable. The Chili is waaaaaaaaaaaay too thick! Its like dog food consistency. It tastes ok. Just too thick! The subs are a little sparse for my liking. The veggies are awesome and the variety of cheese is great. TBH I get a meatier sub from QC read more

It was my first time at this place. I called in to order and whoever answered the phone was so rude. I asked him about a sub on the menu and asked what kind of cheese was on it. He laughed at me and then proceeded to list all of the different cheeses they had.. not necessary. He could've nicely given a couple of options. He did the same thing with condiments. I'm from NY and usually our subs and delis have all of the ingredients listed for their subs and sandwiches. I barely ever leave reviews either but the customer service was just not great for a short two minute phone call. Won't be back. read more

It is a toss up. They deserve 5 stars for service. The staff is wonderful and rather friendly!! However, the sub itself isn't as good as I expected. The onions were extremely thick and not shredded, so it overpowered the sub. I may try again and update my ratings, but for now..........I am on the hunt for a better place. So far, Mr. Sub wins. read more

I ordered a Roast Beef & Turkey with cheese and surprisingly found out they charged 2 dollars more (for the cheese - who does that?)! The sub was just ok in taste - the roast beef wasn't fresh. Below SUB-Standard....From incompetent kids with attitude attending the customers, to warm lettuce, tomato, and onions on your sandwich. To which are circled by fruit flies or gnats throughout the day.... Yuck!!!! Call it like I see it. Oh I forgot to mention the little meat and cheese you get as well..... Mr. Mike needs to focus more on quality, and CUSTOMER SERVICE.... Hello Tastee subs in all its locations, and Sub works in Colonia, and all its locations beat this guy all the way through.... Just an FYI. If you're ever in Jersey City NJ. Blimpie's on central avenue Beats them all..... I don't work for any sub shop throughout the usa, or the world for that matter....... This review is for their new location. I spent $50+ On subs for the family. Not only did they not listen to what I asked them to but on the sandwiches. The place smelled sour, That should have been a red flag I ordered four sandwiches and they were horrible lettuce was wilted, brown. Ham tasted sour when I called to let them know they were mad!? GREENBROOK location - So I walked in reluctantly because the place is always empty...was hungry so I figured I'd give it a try. Ordered a simple sub - turkey n'cheese. First turn off: The meat and cheese sits bare and is thrown on shelves inside the fridge without plastic casing so it is more than likely going to be dry and yep it was. The guy on the slicer had gloves on that he removed twice to answer the phone and put them back on after laying them down. The girl with the ponytail could not be bothered to dress my sandwich. Forgetting just about everything I had asked for. She seemed to be in a rush, I guess she had to use the bathroom. Then she soaked my sandwich to death with vinegar n oil what an entire waste of 7 bucks. Now I see why this place is always empty. Uggggg - Yelp forced me to give one star. read more

I've been here multiple times, maybe more than 20-30 times over the last year. Food is always fresh and the Tuna Salad, in its simplicity, is to die for. I agree with one of the reviewers that the attired of the staff is very curt and 'indifferent '. Absolutely no service with a smile. It seems like they're not happy working there. But.... The food is good and the soups are good as well. I've had minestrone and French vegetable as they were both very good. read more
