Amazing deep tissue for cheap!!! Not the fanciest atmosphere but therapists have always been amazing

I bought a mom/daughter massage for my girl and me back in November for her birthday from Just Relax Spa and we just got around to using it this warm day in March. It exceeded my expectations. The place is so relaxing and well decorated. It's calming and quiet and adds the extra level of comfort that you want with a massage. Our double room was cozy and our massages were thorough and so good! Full body massage with hot stones was the way to go. My masseuse continued to lightly check in, "too hard?" Nope! Needed some r&r with my old lady so we decided to hit her favorite spa. My first time trying them out but it most definitely won't be my last. If you're driving in, I'd recommend a later massage because Center City parking is treacherous. The atmosphere when you walk in definitely gives "get relaxed" and smells amazing. Super clean and the staff were really nice. We ended up going for a 50 minute massage and it was ahmazinggggggg. I left feeling like a Twizzler. Loveeeee this place. I've been twice in the past year. Both times I used a Groupon which was super affordable, especially considering both massages I had were AMAZING. Staff is very sweet and friendly, a small calming environment, they play gentle music, it felt so peaceful. With the weather this past weekend being gross and cold, I decided a good indoor activity would be to go get a couple's massage! I used a discount code on Groupon for Just Relax Spa and was able to snag a great deal for a Couple's 50-minute Body Massage with Hot Stone Treatment. While scheduling our appointment over the phone with the owner, I was informed that there are no refunds and if we arrived late, it would cut into our massage time. All of this sounded fair to me. On the day of the massage, my husband and I arrived 5 minutes before start time. We were hoping to arrive earlier to allocate time to fill out any BS forms and surveys. In the past, we've been to spas where we had to fill out stupid forms and surveys prior to our massages that would cut into massage time but were glad to find that Just Relax Spa is NOT that kind of spa. The massage lasted the full 50 minutes, no more, no less. Our massage specialists were very thorough. Towards the end, I had forgotten that the massage came with hot stone treatment until I felt a super hot sensation on my back. I've never experienced hot stone treatment before but have to say I enjoyed it. At the end, our massage therapists used a couple of hot towels to wipe off the oil on our bodies, which is so rare and I really appreciate that. Many times, I've walked out of a spa feeling oily. And I know the oils are good for moisturizing but I prefer not getting it all over my clothes. My husband and I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Just Relax Spa is a clean and nicely put together spa. Their prices are reasonable even without a Groupon. For the first time, we may actually come back to a spa. read more

A great place to get an hour worth of massage. I booked it through Groupon for a couple massage and contacting the place and setting up the time and date was a breeze. How it works: -Order your tickets from Groupon. Call the massage place and tell them the time and date. -Tell them the voucher number- get it from Groupon -Once arrived, they will prompt you to a room (very clean). Drop your clothes and enjoy the massage. They use oil and hot stones- personally the hot stones were too hot for me but Im a big girl, so I took it like a champ. Amazing experience for a walk in shoulder/neck massage. I am in my third trimester and have been SO tight, but most massages have been just focused on relaxation as opposed to really working on my knots. Not the case here! I found this gem while visiting Philadelphia and I have visited 3 times over the weeks I have been here. They have resolved my sciatica! I have been to Chiropractic care and Physical therapy, but the therapeutic massages I received here did more for me then the weeks of the other therapies. If you have been suffering with Sciatica the way I have, with intense lower back, hip and leg pain - I highly recommend!! Just relax spa offers the best deep tissue massage. I've tried multiple other places in Philly and always come back to this spa in the end because they are very thorough and really do their best to work on areas of tension build up. All my muscle knots have been kneaded away and tension gone. This place is the best. The masseuse are all very nice and even if English is not their primary language they try their best to communicate and are very polite and professional. The spa itself is very clean. Good location, the front guy is nice. Usually massage ladies are good. But I don't know about this time....i wanted to relax, but the above floor was having a party and it was noisy, so it wasn't easy to relax entirely. I gave the lady 20% tip, but she looked unhappy. I didn't enjoy my massage here and was relieved when it was over. The pressure was definitely very strong, but unfortunately the woman either had no knowledge of anatomy or was careless, or both, because she only hit her intended target about a third of the time. So uncomfortable. It was very repetitive. It was not at all targeted or focused. Just kind of big, broad, clueless strokes. She didn't find any knots and work on them like other massage therapists usually do. She didn't seem very well trained. She was just going through the motions to fill the time. There was a pretty big language barrier, so it's not like I could request her to focus on a specific area. There was only a thin sheet over me, and I was cold. Otherwise, the place is very neat and tidy and clean, and the location is great. I guess if you get a specific recommendation for a massage therapist there that you know is good, I'd give it a try. But otherwise, I wouldn't just go in randomly. read more

I went in today - my first time there- for a 60 minute massage. The space is beautiful and spotless. Since it is a bit hidden and underground I wasn't expecting such a nice space. I try to get massages every 2-3 months and I have tried many different places from the most simple to big fancy spas. This was one of the best. This was the first massage I had beside mall chairs or the massage chairs at my job and it was very nice but unfortunately after reading reviews I set my parking meter to the time that I was to leave and unpin completion I was literally harassed into leaving a tip . Like I didn't have my physical card so I kept asking did they use Apple Pay another lady' comes around the corner saying atm I'm like I only have a small smoking of cash (7 dollars) and tried to give that to them then a customer is like Venmo ! I looked at her like why would u try to say Venmo, I let them know I don't have Venmo so then she pulled out a paper with a number for cash app smh she actually verified I sent money before letting me go like she kept saying hold on I' told them my parking mentor had expired I have to go that I sent it and I'm not sure why u need to verify a tip . I bought a Groupon to try this new massage place near my office. I kept attempting to make an appointment, but they only take appointments 2 days prior, which make it difficult when you are trying to book for two people. I was finally able to get two appointments at the same time. We arrive early as requested; however, I have had multiple massages and have always been asked to complete paperwork regarding my comfort level, etc., this time we were not asked to complete any documentation. I also notice there are no certificates showing they are in fact certified masseuses. They take us back to our rooms, one room wasn't even a room, there was only a sheet that closed off the area. The other was in fact a room. The massage begins, and after about 5 minutes, I hear what sounds like someone tap dancing over me. There is a salon directly above the space, which you hear the entire time. Then, the woman who was massaging me kept going in and out of the room, continuing to disrupt my silence and relaxation, she kept dragging her feet, clicking her shoes. I was face down the entire time, and the amount of time that was spent on massaging my buttocks was actually pretty uncomfortable. As I have said, I have had multiple massages, at various locations throughout the city, as well as multiple states. I left there with my shoulders sore and my lower back achy. I honestly do not think they are certified in massage, and I will not be going back. read more

Fantastic foot reflexalogy for my neuropathy! My feet always feel wonderful afterwards, at least for a while. They start by having you strip down to your underwear (I suggest wearing gym shorts and a tee shirt, like me). Then you lay on a bed-like table that reclines and they soak yor feet in hot water (if it's too hot, just say and they'll cool it off). After a few minutes of that they begin working your feet and legs. Will go harder or softer, just ask. I ask for an hour, but often extend to two. It feels SOOOO good. Price is pretty reasonable. Place is clean and techs are professional. Mature women with strong hands and a friendly disposition. Not a 'happy ending' joint. They do have a rewards program. 10 or 12 services and you get one free. Good deal! read more

Wow! Called and got an appointment last minute. Very nice and clean place with really cool touches. I got the 60 minute for 60 dollars and it was perfect. I was very sore from the Broad Street Run and I feel 100x better now. They also have a punch card. I usually go to Eviama but may have found my new place !! read more
