My friend and I were frantically trying to get her fish tank together he spent a ton of time with us, was extremely knowledgeable and sold us the appropriate fish. He was patient enough for us to run to the house to get a water sample, come back had all the fish bagged and ready for us to buy. Also Pricing was very fair! This store is cool until you look at the welfare of the animals, specifically the birds and small mammals. The small mammals including rabbits and guinea pigs were housed in small, terrarium-like enclosures on the bottom level of the display, not allowing for proper air flow or space to move more than a foot or two. Not to mention there was no water in the guinea pig enclosure and crusted over/no food & no water in multiple other enclosures including the hermit crabs and bearded dragons. Many of the animals looked to be in poor health. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I thought it was important for people to be aware of the type of business they are supporting, especially when it comes to live animals/pets. read more

Been here a few times. It's kinda always the same kinda rude employees, tanks full of pest snails, and small animal area reaks of ammonia (animal urine) Seems like someone tried to make decent enclosures for the reptiles but a lot of them were missing food and water. They keep the rabbits, rats, and other small fluffy animals in covered cage by design cages. (So essentially like big tanks) Which doesn't give these animals the proper air flow and builds up ammonia due to there urine. read more

No stars - reason being Just Pets does not honor there store policy. I bought 2 algae eaters plus two other fish yesterday. Total of four fish , I woke up and one of the algae eaters was dead. So I brought a sample of the water plus the dead algae eater and the receipt. After testing my water she stated that it was my water. I disagree I have 6 other fish in that tank so y hasn't any of the other three fish I bought yesterday died. I see y people don't support some of the small business. This particular business is a business I personally was hired to input there information into the us gov. Portal for them to receive the eidl loan and ppp loan which Just Pets received. I will not support them To receive grant money which is free money from the government and then treat ur customers like that is sad. read more

Wow. Just wow. I call them and I ask I am interested in getting some goldfish and a 40 gal tank. I asked how much is the tank? Around $200 (which is what I expected) And I asked how much will be the goldfish? He responds "Ma'am you need to have the tank with water and let it air out for at least a month. I said "Okay so can you tell me the price of the goldfish?" He says the same answer. I ask him kindly and still didn't tell me the price of the goldfish. Thanks a lot Just Pets. Thanks a lot. Also, another time I came here I saw a python escaping from its cage cause the worker was too lazy to close the door after feeding time. This is the best pet store I've ever been too. The quality of their live animals and service is unrivaled by the chain stores in the area. They have a great selection of freshwater and saltwater animals along with reptiles and insects as well as mammals. I have 3 tanks of varying sizes and have stocked them with animals only from Just Pets and they are all doing amazing. read more

I've been going there for years...but not anymore. There was a man working the other morning that was very rude and unhelpful. I am now stuck with in-store credit there because they don't do refunds, nor are they willing to work with you if things don't work out with a pet. Thumbs down. This is a great small business pet store with a great variety of fish, birds, small mammals and reptiles.

They never ever have large rats in stock when I go to buy one. This store is all the way across town and it is quite annoying when they never have what I'm looking for. They are the only place in town that sells feeder rats that I know of, so I don't really have a choice whether I want to buy from them or not. I think there has only been one time in a few months where I've been able to purchase one large rat. Several times I have had to purchase two small rats to feed my baby. I'm not complaining about that, but many times I go to just pets they have none at all. read more

Pretty good fish store, certainly the best in Appleton. Had all kinds of rare, cool looking fish. Only complaint is the guys were more about business and didn't give much tips. The other animals were also kept in pretty small enclosures. Great selection of decor & fish food & other products. Will come again! read more

I have gotten 2 pets here who I love very much! But I don't think I would be comfortable returning here for pet food or for a pet as I was practically chased out of the store today by a very rude male worker. He talked to my sister as if she were completely stupid when she asked him a question and then said we couldn't hold a rabbit because only someone looking to buy one could do that. Employee was so rude to me and my siblings and treated us like kids, however its clear that I am an adult. Said we couldn't hold any animals unless we bought them and made snarky remarks even though we have purchased two of our pets here before. He also said they lose 1-2 rabbits a month due to sickness, doesn't sound too healthy... would not recommend, especially if you are just going to browse and see what animals they have at the time. read more

My son wanted a turtle. I know nothing about them and called Petsmart and their "expert" seemed to know less than I did. We went to Just Pets and were blown away by their expertise, friendliness and exceptional customer service. Anthony helped us and clearly knew his stuff and was able to answer all our questions. They sold us what we needed and nothing that we didn't. They took two phone calls from me while setting up the aquarium to patiently answer questions and gladly took back something that was too big for my tank. Highly recommend, especially for first time owners that really need expert advice. Great, local store! read more
