I found one in rockville and would drive an hour there and an hour back just for my nails. It was so hard making it over there because of the distance and then i found a&a lux. This nail salon is AMAZING! I first made an appointment with Hellen and I haven't gone to any other nail salon since. Hellen is soo nice and is great with french tip which is my go to. I used to come here all the time and they were great. I even used to bring my mother here for…read moremanicures and I would get a pedicure at the same time. They used to be fully staffed and busy and quality of manicures and pedicures was really good. Now they only have 3-4 staff members. Today I came in for a pedicure and hadn't been here in a very long time (about a year). The tech that I got was a young American lady whom a I've never seen here. First, I had an appointment and had to wait over 20 minutes while my feet sat in cold water (and I'd already asked to have the water warmer and it was barely accomplished). I don't mind too much of a wait, but communicate with me and keep me comfortable while I wait! Then she starts on my toenails with a nail buffer after I relayed that I didn't need any nail trimming. The very first big toe she buffed she nicked at the bottom and it started to bleed! I should have stopped her right there and left, I've never had that happen before! Then she proceeds to berate me about the skin on my toes asking what I've cut them with and stating that "it looks like someone gnawed on them." I was shocked and really offended. Then when I told her I didn't need my toenails trimmed because I had already done this myself she said "oh, you already gave yourself a pedicure before you came?" While she did a decent job with the painting, she also buffed places on my feet that were very uncomfortable...such as on the tops of my feet! I do not have calluses up there! I also just had foot surgery...a bunion removed from from my right foot and I communicated this with her. She kept bending my toe down in an uncomfortable position while painting it. I've never had a nail tech talk to me like the way this lady did and I will not be returning here due such an overall bad experience. I will find a new nail salon that respects me and makes me feel comfortable. There are plenty of places here in Frederick!

One hand had no tips on anymore and the other hand had messy polish. I paid $35 for a new set and they look AMAZING! He took time to make my nails perfect and the polish dried very fast! They are SO sloppy and disgusting that I'm embarassed. The salon is SO DIRTY and there is no actual color palette for the polishes it's very odd. Laura, who apprently owns it, was extremely uncomfortable and asked me where I had my nails done before, and telling me hers were cheaper etc. and asked me WHY I wanted acrylic nails? It was really odd and rude. I paid $40 altogether to have my nails ruined. She did not even have proper gel LEDs, and this morning my nail bubbled up because the layers underneath weren't even dried... just praying I didn't contract some type of disease because her tools probably weren't sanitized. Don't ever go here, even if you reeeeally need your nails done. I seriously regret it.
