I found one in rockville and would drive an hour there and an hour back just for my nails. It was so hard making it over there because of the distance and then i found a&a lux. This nail salon is AMAZING! I first made an appointment with Hellen and I haven't gone to any other nail salon since. Hellen is soo nice and is great with french tip which is my go to. Sometimes it takes a while there but that's because she's very knowledgable and spends time on each customers nails. Stopped in here on a whim after being unhappy with the last shop I went to. I walked in the shop…read moreand was unfortunately hit square in the face with the overwhelming odor of cyanoacrylate, and although I know this can be an issue with acrylics, it seemed as if there was zero ventilation in the place. I was greeted immediately, told them I'd like a fill, and was asked to pick a color. They offered gel color (why they do this with acrylics, I'll never understand; acrylics hold polish just fine), but did not push. I was seated right away at someone's station and they began their work. A moment into the service he got a call, and of course I rolled my eyes and thought to myself "oh here we go", since it's commonplace for places like this to carry on a conversation while doing your service. However, he paused, finished his conversation quickly, and returned to me. I had some loose acrylic, and as he went to grab his nippers to pull it up, I asked him not to. After a couple of false starts he understood what I was asking and stopped. The service proceeded quickly and efficiently resulting in some of the thinnest and most shapely nails that I've ever had. He didn't carry on conversations with others in the salon, but he didn't bother to try to have a conversation with me either. They don't let you put tips on credit cards so I wasn't able to tip him but I will definitely be back to see Tommy in the future.

One hand had no tips on anymore and the other hand had messy polish. I paid $35 for a new set and they look AMAZING! He took time to make my nails perfect and the polish dried very fast! They are SO sloppy and disgusting that I'm embarassed. The salon is SO DIRTY and there is no actual color palette for the polishes it's very odd. Laura, who apprently owns it, was extremely uncomfortable and asked me where I had my nails done before, and telling me hers were cheaper etc. and asked me WHY I wanted acrylic nails? It was really odd and rude. I paid $40 altogether to have my nails ruined. She did not even have proper gel LEDs, and this morning my nail bubbled up because the layers underneath weren't even dried... just praying I didn't contract some type of disease because her tools probably weren't sanitized. Don't ever go here, even if you reeeeally need your nails done. I seriously regret it.
