I started my alterations process on 3/9/26 for a 7/18/26 wedding, which I was told was a good time frame to begin to start with a hem and work up to the bodice later. When I picked up my dress the week of my wedding, (all bagged up from steaming) I was told my pick up appointment did not need to include a try-on. I was extremely disappointed with my wedding dress alterations. On the evening before my wedding as I was fluffing the train, I discovered that the hemming was incomplete and portions of the design had not been finished as expected. At that point, there was no time to bring the dress back to have it corrected, leaving my bridesmaids to spend part of the wedding morning finishing the hemming themselves instead of getting ready. A bride should be able to trust that her dress will be complete and ready, especially with the additional services that were paid, for one of the most important days of her life. This added unnecessary stress and took away from what should have been an exciting, joyful morning. While the experience with the staff was good; Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business based on the final product I received. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Came to this location in hopes they would be courteous, professional, and reasonably priced. Requested 2 jeans to be hemmed (original hem). The main woman that works there is absolutely rude and unprofessional. 2 weeks to get 2 jeans back, one pair was way too long. I don't even want to bother going back to have it corrected and I don't even care that she took $5 off the tab. That doesn't compensate for your rudeness! When you have a business in customer service you better make sure you are courteous to your customers! This woman that works there had the audacity to say to a woman in line in front of me that her wedding dress "should be ready" the day this woman requested it.... the woman already obviously nervous about the dress not being there for her big day! Who tells a wedding customer "it should be here"? Absolutely bonkers! Never going back and making sure I tell everyone I know who needs alterations to stay clear of this place! 26 years ago I purchased my wedding gown from Trudy's and Danielle did my alterations. My dress fit perfect! Fast forward to 2025 and my beautiful daughter followed in her momma's footsteps and also purchased her gown from Trudy's and we went right to Danielle at Just My Size. Her new location is right next door to where Trudy's Bridal is moving to so I can only imagine how busy this little shop and its AMAZING team are going to be. Speaking of the shop, it's clean, bright and welcoming. Danielle is a master at her craft and really put me at ease because my daughter's gown required more work than I realized. It took several appointments to get it just right but holy moly did my beautiful girl look absolutely amazing. This was her dream dress, and Danielle and her team made it fit like a glove. I don't think people realize how much work goes into altering a dress especially a wedding gown that is extremely detailed. It is labor intensive, which means expensive. I know for me. I had a formal, full-length dress altered here and it was a nightmare. First, I called to ask if I needed to bring the shoes I planned to wear and the man on the phone said no. When I arrived, I was sent away and asked to come back with the shoes. Next, the lady kept insisting, unprompted, that my dress was too formal for the event and more like a wedding gown. IMO, it's unprofessional to disclose unsolicited opinions, especially negative ones. Because she believed my dress was more like a wedding gown, she said she would charge me $400 for hemming. I told her the dress was not a wedding gown and was sold as a prom dress. We agreed on $270. I asked if she would apply the 10% discount offered by Trudy's and she said yes. She also agreed to hand sew the slit for $35. As I was leaving, the man asked me to take the part of the dress they had cut off because they didn't need it. Asking a client to take out your trash is unprofessional. After I picked up the dress, I realized she had completely failed to hem the middle layer -- she had just cut it and left the edge jagged. And the slit was at least 2 inches lower than we agreed; her sewing was so shoddy, the slit was coming undone before I had even worn the gown to the event. To top it all off, they refused to apply the 10% discount we had agreed on because they claimed it only applies to wedding gowns. Interesting how my dress is a wedding gown or not a wedding gown depending on which option maximizes their profit. TL;DR: They charged me $305 for extremely shoddy work and were rude and unprofessional throughout the experience. I'm disappointed in Trudy's for recommending them. I was in love with my dress and really wish I had gone elsewhere. You and your gown deserve better. read more

Danielle saved me and my wedding dress from disaster!! I had gotten my wedding dress altered somewhere else, and I'm not sure how I missed the very obvious issue during my first fitting and when I went to pick the dress up but when I tried my dress on again at home I was panicking!! The original alterations said they did not want to make any further changes and with just ~ one month left before I had to fly with my dress to Sydney, my friend suggested I contact Danielle at Just My Size. Danielle reassured me that she'd be able to make my dress fit better on my body, and also ended up having to fix the bustle that the first alterations did which made the dress fall unevenly on the sides. Not what I was expecting when this place was recommended by Trudys Bridal. Small business and not very professional. Not worth the stress to come here for bridal alterations. 1) No propper booking system. The day after scheduling my first appointment she called to reschedule because she double booked. On my second fitting I showed up and another lady was in the middle of her fitting. Again she double booked. 2) Sketchy book keeping. My downpayment was via zelle and my remaining payment was to be in cash. Which normally would be fine but when i went to pay the remaining balance she had no record of my deposit. I had to search through my zelle to prove it. She didn't provide a recipe for when I paid cash. I was worried that when I was to pick up my dress the following week she would say I still hadn't paid. 3) She claimed she could get a stain out of the bodice (I bought the sample dress). When I picked up the dress 3 days before the wedding the stain was smeared and with the addition of a water mark. I had to rush to find a proper dry cleaner who could actually clean it with such short notice. 4) When I first called to start the alteration process I wish she would have told me to not go in for the fitting so many months away from the wedding and just wait. As I was loosing weight we had to keep taking it in. I now know from friends that she should have told me to schedule my fitting a month or 2 max before the wedding. 5) I asked her to add fabric to the back and replace the zipper with a corseted back. It turned out fine. I think it needed larger lacing cord for the size of the loops she made. 6) No person at the front desk. Before each appointment im stuck waiting outside. Bought an off the rack wedding dress at Trudy's as my wedding date is not far enough out to order one. They had Just My Size come over and pressure me into using them to alter my dress. First off, the alterations cost more than that dress. They assured me that any spots that were on the dress would be removed. I come to my fitting and the dress still has the spots. I ask her about it and now she is saying there is a charge. That is not what you said in the store. She says okay I'll take care of it. Come back for my next fitting and to pick up because she says it is ready. They threw it in a dry cleaning bag with the exact same spots. I took some work pants into Just My Size to get fixed. They have elastic straps at the bottom to tie them together. The old elastic got tied in knots that I could not untie. I had to cut them making the ties useless. I asked her to replace the elastic as they were previously, which means they were all one piece. She took elastic and pulled them threw the same area that the elastic was before and tied the ends into knots. This wasn't want I asked for and something I could have done myself ‍. She charged me $60 for 4 pairs of pants again for something I could have done. I now take my stuff across the street and that woman charges so much less than this place. Maybe just my size is good with wedding dresses but not simple tasks like charging somebody so much money for pieces of elastic that you probably paid less than $10 for and did a shitty job in the end. Disaster. If you have a silk dress that doesn't allow for any mistakes, DO NOT COME HERE. I bought my dress from Anthropologie and the style I wanted was loose fitting, flowy, elegant. What she gave me was anything but. 1. The shotty sewing work rippled on the hips of the dress 2. The pads put in the bust were completely showing, which she blamed on the lighting 3. The style of the dress was lost because she brought in the waste so much. It was so tight you could see the outline of my bellybutton. 4. Every time we pointed something out we wanted fixed, she disagreed and dismissed us. She wouldn't let us take the dress without paying $380 (hem wasn't done, nothing was finished). We immediately called Anthropologie who we sent before and after pics to and they gave us a discount on buying another dress, because YES I HAD TO BUY A WHOLE NEW DRESS. They will also be calling her to send us our money back for the alterations she made as it completely destroyed the entire reason we bought the dress. I was so uncomfortable, I hardly said anything to her. My aunt and stepmom had to take the reins because I really just felt bad as she playing on my emotions. I am so happy to have found this place!! My whole wedding planning process was super fast (I got married within 2 months of getting engaged) so everything had to be done quickly. I found Just My Size on Yelp and read a ton of great reviews so I decided to go to them to have my dress altered. Danielle helped me and was so incredibly sweet and caring. I was about 2 months pregnant at my first fitting and while Danielle was pinning the hem of my dress, I ended up getting extremely light headed. I told Danielle and she helped me sit down right away, and I went on to completely pass out. I came to a minute later with her applying peppermint oil to my temples and massaging my face, while another employee was fanning me. They had me lay on the couch for about 15 minutes and Danielle brought me water and an apple. The whole thing was extremely scary but I was so grateful that she was able to stay calm and be so helpful. I was embarrassed and kept apologizing and she kept telling me not to apologize and reassured me several times that I am okay and just need to stay on the couch until I'm feeling completely better. I am truly so grateful for her. I had two more appointments with her to make sure everything was still fitting correctly and she did such an amazing job. The bustle was very intricate because there was a long train on the dress and she did a beautiful job with it. My grandmother came to one of my appointments with me and Danielle was able to hem a pair of pants for her that day, which was extremely convenient. I am so happy that I found Danielle and will absolutely be back for future alterations. The price was super reasonable, I expected it to cost a lot more based on research I had done. She shortened the straps, took in the back, fixed a part of torn mesh, hemmed the bottom layers so that it was easier to walk, took in the mid section, and put in a 5 point bustle. Danielle did such an amazing job altering my wedding dress. My wedding dress was a size too big for me and I was scared to take my Oscar de la Renta dress to any 'ol tailor. I'm so glad I was referred to Danielle by my aunt. Not only did she expertly hem, take in, and bustle my dress, she also added the one thing my dress was missing to make it perfect - sleeves! Danielle custom made a bolero using the exact same lace that was used in my dress. I was able to have sleeves during the ceremony and a strapless gown for the reception. I also bought my cathedral length veil on Etsy and the placement of the lace appliques were all wrong. Danielle saved the day and redid the appliques to make the veil absolutely perfect. I had read some of the reviews before my first appointment and was nervous as a result (in addition to handing my expensive dress over to someone) but my fears were eliminated after after my first fitting! Danielle helped me for my first two meetings and she is a total sweetheart! Knowledgeable, professional and knows her stuff! The other ladies who have helped me have been equally as pleasant to deal with. I had the dress taken in along the sides, as well as the addition of a bustle. Today was my final fitting and the dress looks AMAZING! And it looks so flattering on me! I am so very happy with the work and service. The cost was more than I liked to shell out, but I am certain that their cost is the same as most everyplace else and 1) this *is* a wedding dress and 2) it is the first time I have ever had major alterations done. It is a wedding dress, after all, and that takes a certain amount of work in order to make sure it looks great after alterations are done. For the work they did and how well it came out, it was worth every penny! As a bride, I am sorta over handing out money to everyone but this was one instance where I didn't mind! We love Danielle's work and have been coming to her for alterations since I was little. It was no question who I would go to to get my wedding dress alterations! I am completely pleased! The good: 1. Danielle did so much extra work for my wedding including: hand-making the grooms vest, hand-making my bridesmaids belts, altering the groomsmen vests, hand-making my fathers tie and my husbands tie, and hand-making shoulder straps and a belt for my wedding dress. All at reasonable prices. 2. They meet deadlines 3. Danielle gives good fashion advice but knows 'the customer is always right' (even though we always aren't) 4. They have reasonable prices for the great workmanship that they provide! This is hard work people! The not-so-good: 1. The grooms tie was lost, I believe we never received it but Danielle says she gave it to us. Regardless, we paid for another one to be made... then she made it from the wrong material... so it had to be made a third time on her expense. 2. She's super busy and can over book her appointments or let them go too long, even with an appointment we always have to wait until she finishes with another customer. Though we never tend to wait more than 5 min. 3. The studio can use an update. I know its hard to make these decisions as a business owner with so much more to do but with the prices she charges she should be able to make the building, seating, atmosphere, etc. up to date and more inviting! read more

Got my wedding dress altered here. The owner, Danielle, and another person did the tailoring. My dress fit perfectly! I had a total of 4 fittings (one for the bustle, and 3 for the sides/bust). I made the mistake of insisting that I needed my dress to be tight .. Danielle did what I asked, but when I tried my dress, I had back fat I didn't know I had popping out! After that, Danielle readjusted my dress (luckily for me, she left enough fabric in place) and then it was perfect. Luckily, she didn't charge me for my mistake! She also made a belt out of leftover fabric bc I couldn't find a ribbon belt that didn't cost some ridiculous amount of money. Yesterday, I brought in 3 items (2 dresses & 1 pair of jeans) for same day alternations. A tailor (female) told me I can come back at 1:30pm sharp, because they had a busy day. I arrived a couple minutes early, and was told to wait a few minutes. After waiting for 10 minutes, paid $41 ($18/dress hem & $5/patch), and thanked them for alternating my items in such a short notice. This afternoon, I was so excited to try on my newly alternated dresses. As I was pulling one of the dresses of the hangers, I was so disappointed to find 2 pink lipstick stains on the bottom of the dress. The other dress turned out okay, but the patch that was placed on my jeans was so poorly done. :( Currently, I'm soaking the lipstick stained dresses and I can wear longer tops to cover up the crappy stitch work on my jeans. If you want unprofessional and expensive alternation services, this place is a winner! read more

WEDDING DRESS ALTERATION Although the altering was done okay, my experience overall was NOT very good. 1. Upon my second appointment to pick up the dress, I was told it was not ready and that I needed to return again at later date, even though I was originally told it would be ready for pick up that day. The bustle was off center and the zipper had not been fully resown so when I tried on the dress I heard beads FALLING OFF my gown! I asked her if both would be fixed when I returned, she said yes... 2. I returned for the third appointment, same issue with the beads...this is the stuff of nightmares for brides-to-be, as I heard them bouncing off my dress and onto the floor!!! Finally, get the dress on and again the bustle is still off center, I doubt if she even fixed it the first time. Danielle makes some excuse about it was her niece that did the original alterations (it wasn't, her name was on the original pick up slip). Anyway, she told me I needed to come back again, but I was pretty wary at this point, and really didn't want to leave without the dress...so she agrees to fix it right then, which she does. Fast forward a few months, I'm trying on the dress the week before my wedding. SHE SEWED THE BUSTLE THROUGH TO THE FRONT OF THE DRESS! Thank goodness my mom was able to rectify it, but for the $210 we spent, I think we should have received a much better product and much better service. I think giving this place 1 star is generous on my part. I bought my wedding dress from Trudy's and they told me to take it here for alterations (it needed a little taking in on the bodice and having the bustle done, nothing else). Not only was the work below my expectations of wedding dress alterations but it was below average work for any sort of project! They didn't take in the lining of the dress when they took in the bodice....so zipping it up was a problem because the fabric bunched up on the inside (also made a little rippling effect around the zipper). Then, she actually advised me to do an American bustle (outside) even though my dress was so heavy with the beading on the chapel train that she needed to pin it in two places! (which she didn't tell me about) When I came back to get it and saw the straight line across my ass that her pinning of the bustle had made, I was appalled. It looked like those oldfashioned men's pajamas with the button flap on the butt thing. Needless to say, I had to take my dress elsewhere, pay all over again to have the same work done (and finally ended up with the better option of a French bustle). All in all, I wasted one month of my time, which was more than I really had (finally got my dress back one week before we left for our wedding in France) and about $200 of my money, no refunds. I had a really weird sewing request for this place. I brought in 4 hanging wall charts, that are made of fabric for use in a school classroom. They have plastic, transparent pockets that hold flashcards. I needed to have the the pockets on this chart be a certain size so that the flashcards would fit properly. An older Asian women helped me. She listened to me explain what I wanted. She scratched her head a lot and gave me a few confused looks. But in the end, she grabbed her chalk and sketched out the sewing lines on my charts. It looked like her white chalk lines weren't straight, so when I asked her if the lines would be straight, she gave me the most pathetic look, and said "I'm a seamstress." I'm still laughing over that exchange. It was so funny, but you had to be there. You had to see her tired, annoyed facial expression. I asked if she could finish by the end of the day and she agreed. The first fitting went well for my wedding dress. However, the second fitting, it seemed like Danielle was super defensive and didn't see what I was seeing with the dress -- the flare at the bottom started at different sections of the dress, the bust area was not fitted well, and the part in my lower back was not fitted well either. After voicing these concerns she said that I could just come pick up my dress at my 3rd fitting and almost didn't let me try it on when I picked it up. I insisted on it and when I still wasn't happy with it, she said she wouldn't cut it anymore. After having a great experience purchasing my dress, the tailor they recommended didn't reflect the Trudy level of service. Danielle was super rude and defensive after the second fitting; she seemed like a scolding Asian mother scolding her children, except I'm a paying customer and not her child. Furthermore, her shop was really old with cobwebs and spiders everywhere; could use a good deep cleaning. There were threads on my dress when I picked it up and she even lost my protective garnet bag! Was really upset with the way my dress was tailored. read more

I, too, got my wedding dress altered here, and am really pleased with the result. I got my dress from Gabrielle's Bridal, and it was enormous when it came in, and I hated it - felt like I was swimming. But after Danielle's first round of alterations, it fit like a glove. She put in boning/wire to make it hug my bust more, and she maintained the look and shape of the dress to perfection. Her shop is a big change in terms of "vibe" from Gabrielle's. But, her work leaves nothing to be desired, so don't be put off. Danielle is extremely friendly, and I would recommend for any bride to get their alterations done at Just My Size! read more

I brought one of my military uniforms here for a quick alteration recently and was very impressed with the quality of work and fast turn around time. I had some patches cut off, velcro applied, and some other items fixed. I was on a tight deadline and needed the uniform in two days. The gentlemen who helped me out had to go out to find the tan colored velcro but did not complain, and was able to get the job done within the short amount of time I gave him. I would have given them five stars, but the price made me hesitant. $30 for three pieces of velcro (rough and smooth) seemed a bit high to me. Then again, I'm used to getting these types of things done at a military base where the prices are cheap but the service usually sucks and patches fall off during deployments. read more
