About two months after my boyfriend proposed to me, I started to search for bridal shops in the Bay Area. Prior to being engaged, I remember going to bridal shops in the bay area with my friend who tried on dozens of dresses and she had the worst experiences. BUT THEN, a very good friend of mine HIGHLY recommended Soni and sent me her contact information. Soni scheduled an appointment with me the following week. Prior to my visit, Soni asked for my height, clothing size, the dress style that I would be interested in trying on and my budget. I am a very indecisive person and told her some very vague ideas - fitted dress with straps. When my mom and I arrived to BB Bridal, Soni had a couple of dresses lined up for me based off of the information that I gave her. Soni is like my fairy godmother!!! The first dress was pretty, but something looked kind of off and Soni gave me her honest opinion (which was GREATLY appreciated since most bridal shops tell you that everything looks wonderful). The second dress that I tried on, I fell in LOVE with it. It had everything that I wanted - straps, the gorgeous train and had the fitted style, plus it had a slit on the side of it which is not as common for wedding dresses. Just to make sure, Soni asked for me to try on a couple other types of dresses that would look great with my body type, but in the end, I decided on dress #2. My mom bought a veil (that was recommended by Soni) with crystals all along the edge to go with my dress. There was a part of the dress that was pretty bare and Soni mentioned that she can add lace to that section. What I truly appreciated about Soni was that she was ALWAYS on my side. Sometimes my mom would ask for me to try on certain types of dresses - but because Soni knew what I was looking for, she would tell my mom that that wasn't what I wanted. It was AWESOME. I can't express how amazing it was working with Soni to select and customize my Casablanca wedding dress! I called Soni after I had tried on dresses at 5 different bridal shops on the East coast (where my family is) but still hadn't found "the one." I wanted to retry one of the Casablanca dresses that I had seen back East: she didn't have it in stock but was able to special order a sample for me to try, as well as a sample of another Casablanca dress I was interested in but hadn't tried in person. It was $75 to order both samples, which she would credit back to me if I purchased a dress through her. I had called several other area bridal shops to ask about trying on this same dress, and none of them even offered to order a sample for me to try--so already Soni was showing me a higher level of customer service than any of the larger, "fancier" shops around here--and that's without having purchased anything yet. When I tried on the dresses I was still very unsure about what to do--I liked them both but neither seemed quite right, and I was getting stressed and overwhelmed by the whole shopping process. That is when Soni saved the day! She took the time to understand what exactly I was looking for in a dress, and what was and wasn't working for me about all of the other dresses I had tried on. She offered several customization options to address each of my must-haves and deal-breakers, along with her opinion on what would work best for my personal style, body, and budget. I was actually willing to spend a LOT more money than I ended up spending--but Soni advised me on which customizations she thought would be a waste of money, and which would have the most impact for the buck. I found my perfect weding dress here. It was just the right amount of sexy and classy. I love Chantilly lace, see thru material, and bling. I also asked to add customized off shoulder sleeves that are detachable. I also asked to add another layer of floral material and floral edges to the train. I would've asked for a slit in my dress but people said I need to be classy lol....When you arrive for appointment, you must be wearing socks and take off your shoes. She will give you slippers to wear. She is direct and will give you her honest opinion. She orders your dress to be tailor-made to your measurements so that you don't need alterations after it arrives. But it was way too tight when my dress arrived and I didn't gain any weight....I could hardly breathe. I was worrying I wouldn't be able to eat or drink. She told me to wear it so it would stretch out. But who has time to wear it around the house? So I forced myself to lose 2 more lbs for my wedding and it was still tight. But it helped. Also my bustle didn't work during the wedding and it wasn't sturdy enough to hold my train. My husband was tripping over my train. It's by appointment only. After the wedding, I asked about cleaning the wedding dress. She said it's $375 to clean and preserve wedding dress. They only use organic cleaning. read more

Soni knows exactly what she's doing. I went to other dress shops and the bridal consultants didn't really understand what I wanted or even what looked good on me. Over text, Soni was able to quickly gather what would look good on me. When I visited her, the recommended dresses she gave me were perfect and we were able to quickly decide on the silhouette that I wanted. She was even able to convince me to switch to a neckline that would be more flattering for my body and I am so glad I listened to her! This review is for Soni at BB Bridal! Soni was like my fairy godmother throughout my wedding. She created the most beautiful, timeless dress for me. Yes, she can be opinionated, but that was perfect for me as I had so many different ideas in my head. She created two different looks for me and I truly fell in love with both. The dress went from a simple fit and flare inner dress with built-up straps with the addition of lace appliqués. Additionally, I had a detachable A-line skirt with a sequined layer underneath. Soni kept me updated through the entire process and not only helped me with the vision for my dress, but she also showed me which Spanx to get and also sent me ideas for shoes. Soni keeps her store very clean and she let me come in multiple times for fittings. She genuinely cares about her work and making sure that you both look and feel great! I found my perfect wedding dress here! I came in to see Soni after trying on probably over 40 dresses. I still couldn't make a decision because there were just too many dresses I loved out of all the ones I tried on, but one thing was missing from all of them it wasn't the complete package! After reading her reviews on yelp I made an appointment and gave her a shot! She looked through the photos of the dresses I loved and I told her what was missing and the dress I was envisioning! I initially decided on a strapless dress, but her being super honest and wanting the best for me told me strapless wasn't the best way for me to go. That it made my shoulders and back look bigger than it is. So she recommended to go with a dress with a thin strap! She took my measurements and she told me she has the dress for me. Like all the reviews said she just brought out that one dress and had me try it on. It took me awhile to process because I couldn't believe how perfect the dress was. I mean I know this won't be everyone's experience but I was super grateful how the dress I loved happened to be at her store and it worked out! I appreciated it because she tried giving me the best fit dress so I wouldn't have to do crazy a amount of alteration to it when it came! I wanted a longer train so we just extended it a tad bit and added a petty coat to it as well! She does have a no shoe policy and provides slippers and she has her own way of doing things but she means well! She wants you to be happy and wants you to find your dress! She will tell you what she recommends on your body type what will look best and if you agree then you agree but if you envisioned something else and you want to stick with your ways she will respect that as well. I first visited Soni at BB Bridal in May 2020. Within seconds of meeting me, she found the perfect dress for me! I tried on a bunch of dresses after that, but quickly realized that Soni's instinct was the right one. She was able to give me a fair price for the dress, which included a bustle and pressing the dress. Soni also helped me order my three bridesmaids' dresses at a special rate. Even though the dresses were ready in December 2020, she let me pick them up in May 2021. My wedding dress was in perfect condition and fit like a glove for my October 2021 wedding. In addition to Soni's fashion sense and bridal expertise, I have to commend her for being a truly wonderful lady with a warm heart! She told me to bring photos of dresses I saw online and liked to my appointment so I did and she pulled dresses based off the photos. The only downside: she puts a lot of pressure to have you buy that same day. Soni came recommended by a friend who also purchased her wedding gown at BB Bridal. It's a no-frills bridal boutique and by appointment only. Give Soni a call and you will be on your way to looking like a GODDESS. I went in with a specific silhouette (form-fitting with slight flare at bottom) and material (satin) in mind. Soni dissuaded me from satin because it shows every bump and lump, and I am so glad that I went with her recommendation of lace fabric. Her measurements were perfect and my dress didn't need additional alterations after it arrived from the manufacturer. Don't be offended if Soni is direct in her words and opinion. As other reviewers have mentioned, Soni can be very, very honest. I really appreciated this after experiencing other boutiques that gave me bland and unhelpful feedback. That being said, if you have just started your dress shopping, I would try other boutiques first before heading to Soni's to get a good idea of what you are looking for. You won't have the opportunity to try on 20 different gowns at Soni's. I didn't purchase my dress from BB Bridal, but I did take my dress to Soni for alterations. Soni has been in the wedding dress/alterations business for many years and as a result, she knows what looks good on every type of figure. She did an amazing job altering my dress so that it fit me perfectly. I received many compliments on how well the dress fit me, and it was all thanks to Soni. Soni is a very sweet and caring person, and she likes to get to know her brides on a personal level. She has a crazy good memory and remembered all of the things I told her.
