If you are wedding dress shopping, LOOK NO FURTHER. Soni is my fairy godmother and she will be yours too! I want to echo the other reviews on here that Soni is straightforward, honest, and will work with what you want while also recommending dresses best fit for your body type and look. Working with Soni was so easy and fun! Her shop is a no frills shop with some rules to keep everyone safe and the dresses clean. I really appreciated this! Before my appointment, Soni asked me to send body measurements which helped her to understand your body type and she was spot on with her picks for me! The initial dress that Soni picked out for me was my ULTIMATE favourite...I still look at that photo to this day. However, I went with another dress that was a bit more traditional and Soni's veil suggestion elevated the whole look and I was in loveeeee. Soni is like your favourite auntie who wants nothing but the best for you on your special day. She would always bring me back down to earth when I got a bit too crazy with ideas and would reassure me when I would question my choices. I still keep in touch with her till this day xoxo I recommended Soni to my friend who got married last September and she found her dream dress here as well!
About two months after my boyfriend proposed to me, I started to search for bridal shops in the Bay Area. Prior to being engaged, I remember going to bridal shops in the bay area with my friend who tried on dozens of dresses and she had the worst experiences. BUT THEN, a very good friend of mine HIGHLY recommended Soni and sent me her contact information. Soni scheduled an appointment with me the following week. Prior to my visit, Soni asked for my height, clothing size, the dress style that I would be interested in trying on and my budget. I am a very indecisive person and told her some very vague ideas - fitted dress with straps. When my mom and I arrived to BB Bridal, Soni had a couple of dresses lined up for me based off of the information that I gave her. Soni is like my fairy godmother!!! The first dress was pretty, but something looked kind of off and Soni gave me her honest opinion (which was GREATLY appreciated since most bridal shops tell you that everything looks wonderful). The second dress that I tried on, I fell in LOVE with it. It had everything that I wanted - straps, the gorgeous train and had the fitted style, plus it had a slit on the side of it which is not as common for wedding dresses. Just to make sure, Soni asked for me to try on a couple other types of dresses that would look great with my body type, but in the end, I decided on dress #2. My mom bought a veil (that was recommended by Soni) with crystals all along the edge to go with my dress. There was a part of the dress that was pretty bare and Soni mentioned that she can add lace to that section. What I truly appreciated about Soni was that she was ALWAYS on my side. Sometimes my mom would ask for me to try on certain types of dresses - but because Soni knew what I was looking for, she would tell my mom that that wasn't what I wanted. It was AWESOME. After placing the order, I went to BB Bridal again 5 months later. The dress was even MORE beautiful than the first time. It fit perfectly and Soni didn't need to alter it much. She also gave me recommendations on how to wear my hair, types of shoes and jewelry. Soni added the bustle and then I didn't see her again until a week before my wedding day. She pressed my dress and made sure that everything was ready for the big day. The day of my wedding, I received SOOOOO many compliments and could hear others talk about the details on my dress. Soni not only KNOWS dresses, but she can also alter and preserve them! She is AMAZING, honest and kind. I loved working with her and will always recommend her to others.
I truly cannot recommend Soni at BB Bridal highly enough for creating the most gorgeous wedding dress! She was able to look at previous dresses I had tried on and immediately see which features to modify to be more flattering. Soni was always so responsive and kind throughout the dress creation and fitting process, and I feel so lucky to have worn one of her creations on my wedding day!
I would 100% recommend Soni to anyone looking for their dream wedding dress. Soni was very easy to work with from the first phone call to the day I picked up my dress. I only had to come in a few times for my dress fitting which worked really well since I live in NY. I sent her photos of inspo dresses and on the day of our first appointment, she had a couple of dresses all ready for me to try on. I loved all of the dress recommendations she picked out for me. Soni knew exactly the type of dress would fit me best and she definitely saved the best one for me to try on last. Soni is honest and I love that she is straightforward and says it like it is. With many years of experience, I knew I could trust her opinions and feedback. She even helped suggest the type of shoes, hair style, jewelry to wear, etc, to complete the whole bride look. My mom found B B Bridal on Yelp and I couldn't be happier with having Soni help me find my wedding dress. Thank you so much again, Soni!
Definitely a gem of a place! Soni, the owner, has been running the business for ~20 years. She has a lot of experience and a great eye for detail. I came to her with a general idea of what I wanted for my wedding dress, and she helped me make my vision into reality by customizing a dress that already had some of the features I wanted. The price here is also very reasonable and affordable. Would definitely recommend!
Searching for a wedding dress for someone as petite as I am was difficult. I reached out to Soni for an appointment and gave her some of my inspirations. The day of the appointment Soni offered me great selections that actually fit me, instead of drowning in fabric like with other boutiques. Soni knows what she's doing and customized my dream dress. She worked with my hectic schedule and listened to my concerns and wants. Many thanks to her for helping me feel beautiful on my special day.
Soni is the Asian Aunti that has your best interest! She works miracles to make sure you look your best and feel gorgeous on your special day. She rushed my order way faster than any other shop I tried at a reasonable rate! Her skills at alterations is astounding where she even made the dress almost one of a kind! Highly recommend her as someone who can make this whole process less stressful
Just got married last week. I got so many compliments on my wedding dress. Soni is amazing! The shop is not fancy and it's a small shop with some rules you have to follow but Soni (I want her to be my Korean auntie!!) is great and she brought out 3 dresses for me and she knows what she's doing (has 20 years of experience in this industry!!). She is straightforward with you but will take care of you. I went to a few different bridal shops prior to meeting Soni and was already overwhelmed by other shops but with Soni, I felt taken care of. Go check her out! Not cheap but you'll be happy and it's worth it. I paid about $2600 for my lacy mermaid dress with a beautiful train which bustles up beautifully. I wore it all night (didn't change into a second dress) and danced it in comfortably. Appointments only.
My sister as well as at least one other friend has bought their wedding dresses with Soni, and I followed suit without hesitation. Soni has been doing this for 30 years and you will not get better service/advice/tailoring from anybody else. I can be quite indecisive and I didn't have a specific style in mind. At the end of the day, I wanted to look good and feel good in it. She took a look at my figure, and pulled out a few dresses that will bring out the best features for me. Once I put this dress on and saw how I looked, it was an easy decision. Soni is very honest in her opinions and advice, which I truly appreciated in this process. She's incredibly caring and also very responsive, and she kept in touch with me throughout the entire process until my wedding was over. Finding your perfect dress will be the easiest part of your wedding planning if you work with Soni.
Soni was my fairy godmother during the wedding dress process. I went to many shops before hers and NOTHING fit right. Before meeting Soni wedding dress shopping felt like a chore, in fact I'd normally walk away from the stores crying and feeling disappointed in the lack of sizes, how the dresses were meant to only fit 1 body shape, and I was told I'd have to "go to LA for my size". Ladies, I'm a size 14-16 and have curves, I should have never let these other stores let me feel terrible about my body. Then came Soni. Over 1 PHONE CALL, yes phone call, she gauged what I wanted, what my sizing was (asking about my jean size, bra size, etc), and the perfect style for me. The first dress she chose for me was the dress that I fell in love with. Fast forward I tried it on and it fit like a GLOVE. I finally had that moment of this was it! I cried, this time happy tears. Soni is the best in the business. Knows what you want, before you even know. She also is spot in for sizing and fit. Couldn't recommend her more.
My mom lives in NorCal and found BB Bridal online so we made an appointment. Soni called me right after that to discuss what I was looking for and she told me "I know the perfect dress for you. You will love it when you try it on!". Of course I didn't believe her as I hadn't even started looking yet but I did fall in love with the first dress she picked out for me to try on! I left without buying it as I wanted to try on more dresses before deciding but I ended up coming back to Soni and buying that dress! She was great to work with. Very honest and straight-forward, she doesn't hesitate to tell you what she thinks and I loved that about her. It made me feel like I could trust her! We made some changes to the dress and she was able to make them come to life. I came back a month before my wedding for my fitting, made some minor adjustments and took it home with me on an airplane.

Soni is a true gem, and I feel incredibly lucky to have had her create my wedding dress. After visiting four of the biggest-name bridal shops in the area and still not finding anything that felt right, I called Soni and she immediately said she knew exactly what I was looking for. She even sent me a picture of a design, and it was exactly what I had envisioned. She didn't have the dress in my size to try on, but I tried on a similar style and just knew I could trust her completely. From there, she custom-made the dress using my exact measurements, and what bride buys a dress she's never tried on? I did, and I couldn't be more thankful that I trusted her. The final dress fit like a glove and required zero alterations before the wedding. It was truly made for me in every sense. Soni was also able to thoughtfully add and remove elements from the original design to make it uniquely mine, and she executed every detail so beautifully. What's most incredible about Soni is her experience and intuition. She has been doing this for so long that she just knows. She always guided me with her honest opinion about what would look best, and she was right every single time. She is a true professional who gives her honest feedback in the kindest way, because all she truly cares about is helping you look and feel your absolute best. She is so easy to work with, and I trusted her wholeheartedly to create my dress without even trying it on beforehand. I am beyond grateful for her talent, her guidance, and the beautiful dress she brought to life for me. read more

Many reviews here have referred to Soni as a fairy godmother, but she is so, so much more than that. There is no wave of a wand that can accomplish what she does with her dresses, which is the product of hard work, a formidable work ethic, an unparalleled eye for great designs, and over 30 years of experience in the bridal industry. The immense pride that Soni at BB Bridal takes in her craft is matched only by her passion for inspiring joy in her clients during one of the most stressful moments of their lives, and after visiting over ten bridal shops we are so thankful we found her! Long story short: If you're looking for a bridal gown, expert tailoring, and the most wonderful experience, please absolutely seek out Soni. Below, I've included details about our 9-month experience with her for those who are curious about what to expect (she is 100% worth the time it took to draft this, I promise!). THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT: Soni is a warm, kind, and no-nonsense woman who gets the job done right the first time around with a brilliant sense of humor to boot. We picked up on this right away while texting with her last year, and she was incredibly responsive. On the phone, she asked for basic wedding details such as date and budget, as well as some sample dress styles that I liked so she could pull similar ones for us at our upcoming appointment (which she kindly squeezed in with a day's notice!). She's a one-woman show but incredibly prepared and had some wonderful options pulled for me when my parents & I arrived. She only sees one client at a time so you have her full attention, and we spent over an hour trying on the beautiful options she had pre-pulled for me. When I wasn't sure about making a final decision right then, she encouraged me to go home, think about it, and get back to her with any follow-ups--not once did she pressure me to buy on the spot. Eventually, we went back and she showed me one more option based on my previous feedback and...WOW. The choice was stunning and unlike anything I'd been shown at any other shop--Soni's keen eye pulled through. We made a decision on the spot and walked out of the shop on cloud nine! TAILORING & FITTING: Subsequent fittings were incredibly fun. After we purchased the dress, Soni had texted me a sketch showcasing the alterations she planned to make and the gorgeous drawing put our worrywort minds at ease immediately. One month before the big day, she called me in for a preliminary fitting and the dress fit like a perfectly tight and incredibly flattering glove! She had a few more tweaks to make and asked us to come back a few days before our flight to pick up the dress. Thankfully, she had given us tons of advice about how to shop for shoes, veils, and even fly with the dress, so we felt completely prepared for the big day! FINAL THOUGHTS: Needless to say, my entire bridal experience with Soni was truly one of the highlights of our wedding. I finally brought my husband (!) to meet Soni this week and drop off my dress for cleaning & preservation, and we had so much fun catching up. More than that, however, Soni's effusive joy and persistence throughout this process has made me feel like we've found new family that we never knew we had. My family adores her and we would trust her with all of our friends' bridal needs. Thank you for all you've done and continue to do, Soni--your contributions make such a big difference to all of us who have the privilege of experiencing your greater-than-magic vision. We appreciate you!! read more

This review is LONG overdue but I wanted to make sure that anyone looking for a wedding dress see Soni! I went to several different wedding dress shops and tried on many dresses before coming here. Soni just looks at your body type and knows what kind of dress will suit you. She picked out 3 for me and they were all gorgeous and better than anything I had tried on before (I had tried on at least 15 dresses)! She's very opinionated and will make sure that you look amazing on your wedding day. She even helped me pick out undergarments and a dress for my mom! If you haven't found your dress yet or are just starting to look, you must see Soni! read more

Soni is the best! She helped me find the perfect wedding dress, which really helped me feel so beautiful and special on my wedding day. A wedding dress is such an important part of the wedding day. Soni is very honest and straight-forward, she doesn't hestitate to tell it like it is. I prefer this since I want to know that the dress actually looks good or bad on me. I also have an Asian mom, so her demeanor doesn't faze me. The whole experience of working with Soni has been so wonderful. Dress shopping can be stressful or overwhelming, but she made it so easy. I sent me a message over google first, then we switched over to text messages. I sent her pictures from my Pinterest board (lace, A-line) and she already had a dress in mind for me. In between booking my appointment with Soni and actually going to her shop, I went to some other bridal dress shops and they convinced me I wanted a mermaid/trumpet style. However, when I went to Soni, she helped me realize that trumpet/mermaid would be super unflattering for my body type (I'm 5 feet). She's super honest and doesn't have customer stand on a box to look taller so the dress looks better on them (which is what the other shops did). She also respects your budget (other shops kept trying to give me more expensive dresses above my budget I told them). Soni really knows her craft. The dress that she initially picked out for me was exactly the one I ended up buying! It fit me and my tastes perfectly. She was able to suggest alterations to the dress that worked perfectly. She always listened to me and gave me advice. I felt beautiful in it and everyone gave me so many compliments! I'm so glad I bought my wedding dress from B B Bridal! My friend also went to Soni for all her bridesmaid dress alterations after I recommended Soni :) I'd highly recommend BB Bridal to all my friends! However, I would caveat that if you're super sensitive to comments on your body or not used to dealing with blunt people, then Soni may not be your cup of tea, but to each their own. read more

Soni is amazing. If you get the chance to work with her, I would highly recommend it. Dress fittings are by appointment only, and she only sees one client at a time so that she can give you her full attention. She is a talented seamstress and has been doing this for many years. If you put your trust in her, she will not steer you wrong. I came in not knowing what I was looking for, and she helped me find the best dress for my body type. I had been to many fittings prior to seeing Soni, and none of them were as honest and knowledgeable as her. She really gives 100% and you can tell she truly cares about her clients. I am so happy with the way my dress turned out. I can't thank Soni enough! read more

My wedding dress was gorgeous! Soni was so sweet and helpful. It was easy to communicate and text with her and she genuinely cares and would check in with me. It was cute to see her just as excited as I was. Most of us are getting married for the first time and don't have experience picking out the perfect dress. Especially during COVID and not being able to have a lot of family and friends around to give suggestions. I sent Soni a few pictures of what I was looking for before I went in as well as what my fiance liked and she had a some dresses ready before I came in. She knew exactly what would look good on my body shape and I ended up with the first dress I tried on!! She will then order the dress with any adjustments, I made my front more like an A line and replaced the inner with satin and it ended up looking very expensive and classy. We didn't even need to make any adjustments after it arrived. Overall it was so smooth and easy, price is also reasonable. My now husband is very picky and wanted classy, timeless, elegant and he loved it :) read more

I can't express how amazing it was working with Soni to select and customize my Casablanca wedding dress! I called Soni after I had tried on dresses at 5 different bridal shops on the East coast (where my family is) but still hadn't found "the one." I wanted to retry one of the Casablanca dresses that I had seen back East: she didn't have it in stock but was able to special order a sample for me to try, as well as a sample of another Casablanca dress I was interested in but hadn't tried in person. It was $75 to order both samples, which she would credit back to me if I purchased a dress through her. I had called several other area bridal shops to ask about trying on this same dress, and none of them even offered to order a sample for me to try--so already Soni was showing me a higher level of customer service than any of the larger, "fancier" shops around here--and that's without having purchased anything yet. When I tried on the dresses I was still very unsure about what to do--I liked them both but neither seemed quite right, and I was getting stressed and overwhelmed by the whole shopping process. That is when Soni saved the day! She took the time to understand what exactly I was looking for in a dress, and what was and wasn't working for me about all of the other dresses I had tried on. She offered several customization options to address each of my must-haves and deal-breakers, along with her opinion on what would work best for my personal style, body, and budget. I was actually willing to spend a LOT more money than I ended up spending--but Soni advised me on which customizations she thought would be a waste of money, and which would have the most impact for the buck. Thanks to her care and keen design eye, I ended up with a GORGEOUS, custom one-of-a-kind Casablanca dress that fully achieved my vision and absolutely blew me--and my husband--away with how elegant, romantic, glamorous, and show-stopping it was (just look at my photos!). Throughout the process of trying on, customizing, and doing dress fittings Soni was *incredibly* attentive, providing the ultimate personalized experience that I doubt I would have gotten at most other shops: I was always the ONLY one in her shop, she never rushed me, never tried to upsell or pressure me, helped me Facetime with my family so they could see what I was trying on, and was extremely communicative, answering all of my questions thoroughly and sending me friendly, reassuring texts and phone calls that kept me updated at all times. Honestly, Soni ended up feeling more like my surrogate aunt than someone I was purchasing a dress from--which meant so much to me because all of my family is 3,000 miles away. Soni is opinionated, as a few reviewers have stated--but I loved that because I needed her feedback and her expert design eye to guide me out of my confusion, frustration, and overwhelmed feelings after trying on dozens of dresses--I was sick of every other saleswoman telling me "you look beautiful in everything" when I really needed someone to take the time to understand what I wanted and offer a clear point of view on how to achieve it. Also, I always felt comfortable to push back on anything I disagreed with because of how friendly and genuinely sweet a person Soni is--she has a heart of gold, truly wants the best for her brides, and also has a hilarious sense of humor! I can't thank Soni enough for bringing my the dress of my dreams to life. I found her at the perfect stage of my dress-buying journey, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for the same kind of wonderful, personalized experience I had with her. read more

I found my perfect weding dress here. It was just the right amount of sexy and classy. I love Chantilly lace, see thru material, and bling. I also asked to add customized off shoulder sleeves that are detachable. I also asked to add another layer of floral material and floral edges to the train. I would've asked for a slit in my dress but people said I need to be classy lol....When you arrive for appointment, you must be wearing socks and take off your shoes. She will give you slippers to wear. She is direct and will give you her honest opinion. She orders your dress to be tailor-made to your measurements so that you don't need alterations after it arrives. But it was way too tight when my dress arrived and I didn't gain any weight....I could hardly breathe. I was worrying I wouldn't be able to eat or drink. She told me to wear it so it would stretch out. But who has time to wear it around the house? So I forced myself to lose 2 more lbs for my wedding and it was still tight. But it helped. Also my bustle didn't work during the wedding and it wasn't sturdy enough to hold my train. My husband was tripping over my train. It's by appointment only. After the wedding, I asked about cleaning the wedding dress. She said it's $375 to clean and preserve wedding dress. They only use organic cleaning. read more

Important: The shop is by appointment only and you must have a mask and socks since it is a shoes-off establishment. Soni is a one-woman-show operating BB Bridal, and she takes her work very seriously. I went in to see Soni with little to no idea about what I wanted for my wedding. I got several great recommendations from her about the overall style, customizations, and features and ultimately decided on a wonderful Casablanca dress. My whole family loved it! Actually, everybody loved it, especially me! :) read more

Supporting small businesses during Covid-19 will definitely help to keep them going!! As clueless as I am when it comes to wedding dresses, I really didn't have any style in mind, but I had a budget to work with. A friend of mine recommended BB Bridal to me and I'm glad I gave Soni a call!! She was very honest and polite. She cut me through the core and picked out a couple of dresses that might be best for me and my budget. I then picked out the one that I loved the most!! My wedding dress turned out to be so pretty and elegant. I got a lot of compliments about my dress on my wedding day. That makes me really happy I highly recommend BB Bridal. Give Soni and her service a try if you have a wedding dress budget! read more

Finding the right dress is like finding a husband, and working with the right people to help you chose the dress is like working with a matchmaker. Soni was that matchmaker. She listened to what styles I liked, how I wanted to look and feel, and she picked around 4-5 dresses for me to try on. I was originally going for an off-the-shoulder look with another boutique, but after consulting Soni, I learned that a different neckline would look better since I had broader shoulders. Soni helped me pick the ideal silhouette to bring out the best with my curves and body structure. Soni isn't someone who is just trying to sell a dress. She is passionate about bringing out the best in her brides, and making them as beautiful as possible. Soni is honest and doesn't hold back when she gives suggestions. I truly appreciate her approach because honesty is the most helpful and valuable gift you can give. She worked with me to modify and create the perfect dress. I am so grateful for Soni and her hard work and dedication! I highly recommend all future brides to consult BB Bridal! read more

I wanted to find my dress within a week, and BB Bridal helped me do just that. As soon as I told Soni what I was looking for, she immediately flipped open one of the magazines to a beautiful wedding dress and convinced me that it was THE ONE. I tried it on and was instantly sold. The dress itself took about 6 months to arrive, but I've been told that was normal, and that timeline was not an issue for me as I had started the search early. Soni did a great job with my dress! Everything happened in a timely manner and she was able to make the dress fit perfectly! My bridesmaid went with me so that she could help me try on the dress a few times, and Soni was very helpful by explaining what needs to be done on the wedding day. Thank you for your amazing work, Soni! read more

I am so happy that I found BB Bridal and Soni. I spoke to Soni over the phone before I made an appointment with her. I briefly told her the style that I was looking for over the phone and by the time I went in for the initial appointment, she had a dress picked out for me to try on. That was the one and only dress I tried on and I knew immediately that it was the dress I wanted to get. She worked her magic until the week of the wedding and did the last fitting a week before the wedding in order to ensure that the dress fits me perfectly on my wedding day. I loved my dress (Kitty Chen Couture) and I got so many compliments on it! Overall, I highly suggest BB Bridal for your wedding dress! Soni truly cares about her brides and she is very honest with her thoughts on what looks good on you and what doesn't. read more

I didn't purchase my dress from BB Bridal, but I did take my dress to Soni for alterations. Soni has been in the wedding dress/alterations business for many years and as a result, she knows what looks good on every type of figure. She did an amazing job altering my dress so that it fit me perfectly. I received many compliments on how well the dress fit me, and it was all thanks to Soni. Soni is a very sweet and caring person, and she likes to get to know her brides on a personal level. She has a crazy good memory and remembered all of the things I told her. During conversation, Soni said that for each dress she fixes, she thinks about the bride who be will wearing the dress and her story. The Monday after my wedding, when I called Soni about cleaning and preserving my gown, she started the conversation by saying, "Congratulations! I was thinking about you this Saturday and was so glad the weather was nice." I was impressed by her thoughtfulness and memory, considering all of the brides she works with. I highly highly recommend Soni for bridal dress alterations! read more

I found my perfect wedding dress here! I came in to see Soni after trying on probably over 40 dresses. I still couldn't make a decision because there were just too many dresses I loved out of all the ones I tried on, but one thing was missing from all of them it wasn't the complete package! After reading her reviews on yelp I made an appointment and gave her a shot! She looked through the photos of the dresses I loved and I told her what was missing and the dress I was envisioning! I initially decided on a strapless dress, but her being super honest and wanting the best for me told me strapless wasn't the best way for me to go. That it made my shoulders and back look bigger than it is. So she recommended to go with a dress with a thin strap! She took my measurements and she told me she has the dress for me. Like all the reviews said she just brought out that one dress and had me try it on. It took me awhile to process because I couldn't believe how perfect the dress was. I mean I know this won't be everyone's experience but I was super grateful how the dress I loved happened to be at her store and it worked out! I appreciated it because she tried giving me the best fit dress so I wouldn't have to do crazy a amount of alteration to it when it came! I wanted a longer train so we just extended it a tad bit and added a petty coat to it as well! She does have a no shoe policy and provides slippers and she has her own way of doing things but she means well! She wants you to be happy and wants you to find your dress! She will tell you what she recommends on your body type what will look best and if you agree then you agree but if you envisioned something else and you want to stick with your ways she will respect that as well. Overall, my experience with Soni was amazing!! Thank you so much Soni! read more

I first visited Soni at BB Bridal in May 2020. Within seconds of meeting me, she found the perfect dress for me! I tried on a bunch of dresses after that, but quickly realized that Soni's instinct was the right one. She was able to give me a fair price for the dress, which included a bustle and pressing the dress. Soni also helped me order my three bridesmaids' dresses at a special rate. Even though the dresses were ready in December 2020, she let me pick them up in May 2021. My wedding dress was in perfect condition and fit like a glove for my October 2021 wedding. In addition to Soni's fashion sense and bridal expertise, I have to commend her for being a truly wonderful lady with a warm heart! She checked in on me during over the past 18 months and even wished me congratulations on my wedding morning! I cannot recommend her enough to friends and family! read more
