TL;DR - This is the best gym you'll ever go to…read more I work with a trainer here in addition to group classes. It's never crowded, it's very friendly (it's like Cheers, you walk in and people will actually say hi - and not in a fake way). I have never missed a ONE workout because I honestly look forward to going and having a good time while working my butt off. They have high-quality equipment and fantastic group classes. There are a lot of independent trainers. Mine is Mark and he is seriously my training soul-mate. My husband sees Bob, and Bob is easily the nicest and most entertaining person you'll ever meet. Bob also teaches the 9:15 bootcamp class (melt) and my husband says he's the best (and he's VERY hard to please, I was surprised). I've taken a lot of spin classes all over town and this by far the place to go. I burn the most calories (I wear a heart rate monitor) and it's more personal, I've never had more than 3 or 4 people in my class. It feels like you have your own personal spin instructor, which *could* be awkward, but Tovah is just amazing and super nice. She's challenging but also lets you do the best you can without giving you a hard time. I sometimes still spin at LA Fitness, but LA totally sucks compared to Ignite (LA is just cheaper, but they have to be cheap to get any business there. Also, LA's spin room is clear so the whole gym can see in and gawk at you, which totally bugs me out). This place IS pricey...for a reason. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Although my LA Fitness membership is *much* cheaper, I decided to make an investment in my health and just go for it. And it is worth it; because I look forward to going and so I go more often, I'm seeing great results.

I used to work out here when it was Performance Fitness, and I recently came to Ignite with a…read moreGroupon and found out that almost all of the trainers are the same from Performance. Only difference from Performance is that the new owner did a slight remodel, and created a group fitness room. I gave this gym 4 stars because it's very friendly, everyone greets you with a hello when you walk in. Most of the members work out one-on-one with a trainer, so it's never that crowded. But, it's small and pretty pricey. I'm not sure exactly what the monthly membership rate is, but based on what Performance used to charge, I believe it's close to $80+/month depending on the level of membership you purchase. My favorite trainer there is Tovah (I would give her 5 stars if I could do just that), she teaches Power Yoga, Spin and Bootcamp. She is a very versatile trainer who makes you work hard. I really enjoy her Yoga classes because she usually has a Pilates fusion, to strengthen and stretch. Her classes are always different, so you never know what you'll be doing that day. I highly recommend trying out one of her Power Yoga classes!

I was let go from this gym after speaking up about misconduct. That alone should tell you…read moreeverything. The training is solid, that's the only reason this is one star. But the culture is toxic in ways that took me a while to fully see. Staff who are married or in relationships openly engage in inappropriate behavior with members. That's the baseline here. What's not tolerated is being a serious, independent athlete with your own voice. I had ideas for the gym regarding gear, content, improvements, that were taken and pitched by others as their own. No credit, no acknowledgment. Your place here is determined by how compliant you are, not how hard you work or how talented you are. Speak up, and you're out. Most importantly: I would not send any young girl here. I raised concerns about staff behavior toward young female members and was removed for it. If a gym's response to someone speaking up about safety is to silence them, that is not a safe environment. I came here to train and compete. I left because I refused to stay silent. If you're a serious athlete, especially a young woman, you deserve better than this.

John Bassford and Chris Garner are incredible at the sport itself but also possess a seemingly endless supply of energy, patience, and eye for detail. They will not coddle you, but they also will not make you feel stupid as you learn. And learning is what they want you to do. It is hands on, you will work with others in the class respectfully, they insure that. There is a limit anyone can learn simply practicing alone or with someone who will not challenge them. This is not something you need to take into consideration at Undisputed. If you want to improve you will have to suffer the pain education brings with it. Undisputed understands this. They will not antagonize this inevitability. Any rivalry that springs into being from sparring is kept amicable. For those with lousy vocabularies this means respectful, friendly, maybe even fun. All skill levels are embraced and all are welcome. It is a rare community, a real community, a place where you become part of something greater and are free to roam and lift weights or tap into the dynamic teachers who are there. Finally, Cassie worked with me on payment plans and proved that not all gyms are rigidly fixed on taking your money. She was accomodating and fair. I do not know any other gyms that can be said about.

The location is solid, the programming was well thought out, and the coach that day was knowledgeable and encouraging. The owner was also incredibly welcoming -- genuinely kind, present, and clearly passionate about what he's building here. The workout itself included both lifting and a short jog outside, which I actually enjoy as a change of pace. However, during that run, there was a moment that made me uncomfortable as a newcomer to the gym and to the city. I overheard a couple of members joking about and mocking Asian-sounding names. It may not have been intentional, but it landed poorly for me, especially as someone of Asian descent who was literally running just behind them. I want to be clear that this didn't feel like a reflection of the owner, the coaching, or the space itself -- more so a reminder of how important community awareness and inclusivity are, particularly in group fitness environments. As someone who values feeling safe and welcome when trying a new gym, that moment ultimately kept me from returning. That said, CrossFit Fixx has a lot going for it, and I truly believe it could be a great fit for the right people. I appreciated the warmth from leadership and the quality of the workout -- and I hope the culture continues to evolve in a way that makes everyone feel seen and respected.
