Well, since discovering FIT Yoga's heated vinyasa class with Trey, I have found a new studio that I love on the NW side of town! Trey's class includes a flow that is never the same as the previous week. He sets the class up based off of everyone's skill set. If I feel inclined to add more of a challenge, then I'll make the adjustment. But most of the time, Trey's class is exactly what I'm looking for in my practice. Keep in mind this isn't a bikram class, but exactly as stated: heated. If you're looking for a sweaty class, you won't quite get that. But, you will get an incredible flow and workout in. The class sizes range from 5-8 people which creates more of an intimate setting. Either way, I'm incredibly grateful for the studio and love how it's part of my weekly practice!

I'm very happy with the YMCA overall. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly, and the child…read morecare program is excellent. The child care employees do a wonderful job and are one of the main reasons our family enjoys coming here. However, I do think the YMCA should reconsider advertising the pool as a membership amenity when, in practice, it is rarely available for general use. During the week, only a couple of morning hours are open, and those times are primarily intended for children taking swimming lessons. Everyone else--including children--is limited to a very small portion of a single lane. The pool is also unavailable on Sundays, has limited hours on Saturdays, and on Fridays it is often occupied by camps, making it inaccessible to regular members. While I understand the need to accommodate lessons and programs, the reality is that members have very few opportunities to actually use the pool. It feels misleading to market it as a membership benefit when it is so difficult to access. I hope the YMCA will either expand public pool availability or be more transparent about the limited access so members know what to expect.

When I signed up, I was told there was one closer to where I lived and that delighted me. I got the app. Went home. Because I signed up at the further away studio, I was unable to make appointments on the app for the studio closer. Every time I wanted to make an appointment I had to call. Well, I don't always have the ability to know that far in advance if I'm available. And the app allows me the freedom to do what I need, within the perimeters of their schedule. This was terribly inconvenient and I was told it could not be changed. I ended up only going twice, in three months. I went to cancel my account and turns out you have to give 30 days notice. So I will have to pay for another month that I won't be able to use either. And finally, let's be honest. The tech's were wonderful. Very knowledgeable. But 20 minutes is just not enough time. I know it isn't a massage, but I felt like we were racing through to get results. Stretching takes longer. The studio was clean. Everyone was very nice. I just think the company has some work to do.
