It was a rainy Saturday morning when I visited, and wasn't expecting the shop to be busy as i assumed it was newly opened. There was one person before me having his hair cut, but I was served promptly afterwards. The friendly guy who cut my hair was the owner, and it turned out he'd been in Barnehurst for a year, but had only recently put up a new sign. No wonder I'd never noticed it! According to the owner the shop is still using a temporary fit out until the lease is confirmed, but I was told there's plans for a renovation soon. Until that happens, it does feel a bit like a house where someone has recently moved in and not fully established themselves yet. Haircuts are a personal thing, but I found the quality and service to be first rate. The owner mentioned he had decades of experience in cutting hair, having owned a few barber shops in others areas. As I was leaving, another person came in and was waiting for a haircut, so they've obviously got a few customers despite their low key presence. I'm sure that's a good sign of better things to come.

Catering for men and boys the decor is a 'mans man' paradise with signed photo's and sporting memorabilia covering every wall. The staff are prdominantly female which is not a problem as they are fantastic at the 'male orientated' barbers culture. The prices are very reasonable (£9.00 for a straight forward cut with no frills) and offer a whole range of the usual barbers services at competative prices. It can get busy at weekends so be prepared to wait.

The time it took between me walking from my car parked in Dorrington Gardens and back was 20 minutes. My hair stuck up at the top because it was cut too short, not at all tailored to me. £25 for a terrible haircut. Avoid.

Staff is super friendly, my barber took the time to do the haircut I wanted, I never felt rushed at any point. All of that, for £10! Lads, it doesn't get any better than this. He was attentive to my wishes, asked for the stays as he went (allowing me time to don and remove my spectacles as required), pleasant enough to chat with in between all that, and completely accepting of the fact that I'm American -- no bias whatsoever! I observed during my time in the shop that there was no rush but no waste of time either -- if a cut and a shave took 30 minutes or more to do right, then it took the guys 30 minutes or more to do; if it took 15 minutes to do right, then it took the guys 15 minutes to do. It's nice but not fancy, friendly but not obnoxious, and inexpensive but not cheap. I'll be back!
