I felt like my left shoulder and arm had been gnawed on by a Chupacabra. So I "YELPED" a local massage place to help me with my damaged flipper/wing/appendage. I happened upon this place that was hard to find in a business strip mall in Citrus Heights. There was a man and woman in the business and they were very pleasant. I told them about my Chupacabra attack and asked if he could rub my left arm for about 20 minutes. The fine gentlemen quoted me $20 which seemed a fair price to regain my super strength. At only 20 minutes the clock was ticking. He spent the first five minutes pressing my spine, neck and shoulders. I'm a big guy, 6'0" and about 275 and not too in touch with my "sensitive side"..... This always irritates me, when I come in and say," I only have a limited amount of time, can you please fix this spot" and they have to spend time either "centering your chakras," "fixing your chi", "opening your energy" or" realigning your wang-chung". Once during a massage at another place I even had a guy blow on the back of my calves for about 2 minutes. I whirled around and asked him "what in the wide wide world of sports is he doing?" He replied that he was using his "WHO BREATH which blows away the pain from the muscles...." I wanted to show him my left hook that puts pain into the muscles but I didn't... Any way back to my story... After two requests to rub just my arm, Mr. Massage Guy finally gets around to rubbing my bad flipper. He did an excellent job and I was finally starting to feel better and thinking, "finally a get a masseuse who isn't a nut job".. when I started to feel a sensation like someone was sucking on my arm, or trying to give me a hickey. I sat up and looked over and saw him applying what looked to be a upgraded alien salad shooter with some sort of modified "milking machine appendage" on the end. He said it was "cupping" to draw the blood to the surface but he didn't even give me a heads up first about the hickey machine. All of a sudden I started thinking, "oh no... it's late in the evening, I'm in a lonely strip mall, I'm the only one here and these people were starting to look like aliens. My mind started to whirl that maybe they were aliens and they used this machine to suck the life out of their human subjects before throwing my bones in a pile in the back room. When I started watching him operate the milking machine he tried to put a Kleenex over my eyes. I still had enough strength to lift the Kleenex off my head and held my breath in case it had some alien type of Ether in it. At this point I just started to laugh inside and just enjoy the massage. Mr. Massage Guy was trying his best to do a good job and I was trying my best not to laugh out loud. He recommended that I go to 90 minutes (I had scheduled 60 minutes on the table), and clearly explained the added cost of that. Don't go to this place if you are looking for private rooms and essential oils. This is a straight-forward Chinese-style open air massage place in the mall. I went for therapeutic reasons, and I got an excellent massage for a reasonable price. (Table massage: 60 minutes = $72; 90 minutes = $108)

She works independently about 3-4 massages per day. Room was warm and the linens clean. Opted for 90 minute massage for $60. Did not have bathroom in suite, but down the hall. Do not remember for sure if she had a handwash station either, but I do not think so. Asked for a deep tissue massage with attention to my sore shoulder. She never really got more than medium pressure, and was more light to medium, with use of forearms quite a bit. She is a talker, with her favorite expression being, "what the hell!" which she said about once every minute. Overall a somewhat relaxing session in a private room with an average massage. Will not repeat. I prefer a more deep massage and one who listens and adjusts massage as client leads.

There is an upcharge when you use your Visa now and they no longer honor their "Get 5 or 10 massages and get one free" because of the new ownership. The change is not for the better in my opinion and odd in a number of ways. One example of this is that I was asked to take all of my clothes off, after that I was covered with a large towel and for about twenty minutes or so I was massaged through this towel, just using pressure. Usually when I get a whole body massage this does not work that way. When I asked Maggie, the masseuse if she was going to take off the towel and use lotion she said yes, continued on with what she was doing. She also got on my back with her knees but she is bigger than Lee, so all that happened was that I was mushed into the table. Lucky for me that did not last long. Then, without any warning she snatched the towel off me and started to apply lotion. This is the first time I rolled my eyes during a massage, ever.
