Bait and switch, Gave clear details about the issue, Quoted "$179, parts around $8.90" to fix a fan switch on a microwave hood. then after coming out, they say $179 + $400 parts! The fan switch is not $400. They ended up charging $179 to change a fuse! The broken Fan switch was not fixed so we still have the same problem we started with. Then cleared a drain tube on a refrigerator and charged $245 for an hour! How does the hourly rate change from $179 to $250 an hour? Why does the quoted price jump from $9 to $400? Why does it take an hour to clear a drain hose? Then a trans fee of 9%?? what is this? Then after reading this review the repair guy went back and hassled my tenants! Not acceptable! Now reading the response from the company, hopefully it is clear they are scammers. The excuse for charging $250 an hour is it is more for premium appliances. This was a rather strange situation - -- Communication was prompt. My rental property's refrigerator went out----but the freezer was working fine. The tenants needed someone out in the evening, after work hours. Happily Just Fix My Appliance confirmed between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. After basically disassembling the frig, with parts al over the place (including doors off), I was called and told it needed 3 parts to the tune of $500. Now mind you, this frig is only a few years old and I wasn't ready to drop this amount of money on a repair. He thought it was "possibly" one part but there would be no "guarantee" unless ALL 3 parts were replaced. They didn't have the parts but could order them and wouldn't probably be in the following day. (After talking to the tenants) . Told him to please reassemble the appliance and I was going to get a second opinion. Well.......lo and behold.... AN APPLIANCE MIRACLE! It started working!!! I know that frequently just a cleaning or vacuuming out the coils and fan can make these things work. But the repairman didn't even try that, just went straight for "all parts need to be changed out." Hence, 2 to 3 stars for promptness and actually getting it to work... and only paid for the service call. But, would I use them again? I would NOT! read more

Long story short, Home Depot sold us the appliances and then gave us the royal runaround on the installation. This company is also known by the names: Best Appliance LA and "ITB Group"- which is who receives payments. A technician was called out to fix our dryer. The original quote with part was less than what the total ended up being as the tech was not as thorough with the diagnosis the first time he looked at it, another part was needed. The tech also didn't reconnect our dryer air hose after the fix which was a small oversight but also disappointing. Upon learning of our dissatisfaction with the parts issue and the work, the office reached out to resolve our issue with unexpected cost and apologize for our experience. So pleased with the work performance and professionalism of JFMA. I have a front loading washing machine unit with a mounted/stacked dryer unit (10 years old). The washing machine model had an issue that caused it to stop mid wash before entering the spin/drain stage. The two gentleman that worked to resolve the drainage & lock issue (according to the machine error code) worked tirelessly to troubleshoot and to resolve the issue. So glad they didn't give up because my machine was being fiesty. Due to this draining problem water did release on to the floor, but the guys took care to reduce water pooling and cleaned the area as they worked. The work comes with a 60 day warranty which gives me a sense of security. It is difficult to find reliable, dependable, and competent service. JFMA did just that! And Julia who sets appointments is a pleasure to work with. She kept me informed as to scheduled arrival times. The entire team is a pleasure to work with. I would definitely refer them to friends and use them again. Finally getting around to posting this after about a year. Actual company name is All-American Appliance Repair. Called to fix a broken icemaker. Arrived late. Was told the water pump/valve needed replacing too and quoted almost $600. When I told him I'd rather replace to whole fridge than pay that he requoted about $350. Came back a week later, late again, and replaced both. The new icemaker overfilled every time creating blocks rather than cubes. Called back out, arrived late again, made an "adjustment" to a small regulator screw to reduce flow, instructing my wife to turn it further. Continued to overfill. Called back out. NO SHOWED! When called back was told that I was to continue to adjust it as we had been shown. Terrible! read more

I scheduled JustFixMyAppliance to have a technician take a look at our Bosch dishwasher. I agreed to a fee of $89.00 for the diagnosis. The problems were that the dishwasher wasn't draining and it smelled like burnt electronics. The technician looked at the dishwasher and stated that the problem was the motor. He said that the purchase and installation of a new motor would cost $330.00. My husband pointed out that as the dishwasher was doing everything except draining, the problem wasn't the motor. The technician looked further and found a small piece of broken glass in the motor which he removed. He then asked for payment in the amount of $195.11: $87.19 diagnostic fee, $81.79 labor, $16.11 sales tax. These numbers don't add up to the total. Also, as we didn't purchase parts, there should have not been a charge for sales tax. The technician admitted to us that he had not asked us to authorize payment beyond the diagnostic fee. He called his office and had me speak with Olga. She said that the technician said that he had received a verbal agreement for the additional charges. She said that if we didn't pay $195.11, she would instruct the technician to undo the work he'd done on the dishwasher. Needless to say, I won't use them in the future. read more

My dishwasher stopped draining. Just Fix My Appliance was prompt and sent a tech who seemed competent. However, even though I only agreed to a diagnostic fee, the tech went ahead -- without my authorization -- and replaced the pump. He tried to charge me a high-end fee for labor and a cost for the part that was almost 3X what I could have bought it for on Amazon. A good company will always give the client the option of deciding whether or not to proceed with a repair before doing the work. This company did not do that. After the repair was done, I was able to negotiate a more reasonable price and ended satisfied. But I really would have preferred a more standard, professional process. read more

I asked for an estimate to clean my dryer vent and they responded $55-$85 so I selected them as the low bidder. My final bill was presented as $283, though I persuaded them to reduce it to $254. It was explained to me, after the work was done, that the additional cost was the result of having replaced two parts, a "dry sensor" and an "air duct," plus the cost of labor to do the replacement, but neither charge was discussed or approved in advance of the work being done. He also didn't show me the old replaced parts, and I had forgotten to ask. Also, the receipt they left did not state the name of the company. Lastly, although the serviceman said the parts had a one year warranty, the written invoice he left me said only 60 days. Now, I'm not saying they didn't do a good job on the project, and the service person was a nice enough guy, but their business practices, in my opinion, leave something to be desired. read more

It is difficult to find a good contractor these days. So I was so relieved to have Timur install a gas stove top. The old stove top was from the 50's and the landlord purchased a stove top that did not fit the counter. The other contractor that the landlord hired was incredibly flakey and did a poor job with the installation of a bathroom cabinet. I found Just Fix My Appliance here on yelp and the effort, reliability and completion of the job deserve the 5 stars. Timur was on upfront about what the job would entail (cutting through the counter for the right fit) and the price was very reasonable considering the labor it took. Our garbage disposal wasn't working and he took it all out, plugged it into the wall and showed me that the motor was shot. Please don't give this company your business if you actually want to fix your appliance. They are extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I had one of their technicians look at my stove/oven. After examining it for 2 hours, he told us that it'd be $500 total. We accepted and he came back a week later with the needed parts. The technician, in no way, knew what he was doing. He took the stove completely apart and struggled with it for about 2.5 hours. He didn't know what he was doing so much so, that he had to call someone to walk him through what he was doing over the phone. At the end of the night, he left the oven with an attachment that shoots fire from the sides instead of fixing it properly. I called their office and after asking to speak to a manager, the receptionist literally said to me, "He won't talk to you." When I asked why, she said "Because he doesn't want to." Here I thought managers were supposed to help their customers, not avoid them. read more
