And then once I did get my new door in from Dixieline, I had to stalk him AGAIN to get my installation scheduled. HOWEVER, here's why he's great: * He hooked me up with Lee at Dixieline (La Mesa) who was awesome - he helped me find a door I loved for a great price * He did a fab job installing our door * His price was super reasonable! I met Josh because the mechanism one of our old windows (that had come with our new home) had failed; I called several other companies and not one of them would come out to repair windows that they didn't install, but Josh came right over and fixed it. He was going to not charge me the $75 house call fee, but I wanted to pay him for his time. Instead, he graciously agreed to credit that $75 to any future windows I might buy with him. So, eventually, we did! Josh and Brad and crew replaced 7 of our windows in our house. I did do some due diligence and got quotes from several other window companies. While he can be a tough guy to pin down, Josh has been far more personable than anyone else I spoke to at other companies, and he made it clear that they wanted our business with their competitive pricing. On installation day, Brad and team were extremely professional, clean, and completed the job in almost exactly the time they estimated. We LOVE our new windows. The reason for the four stars is due to the communication issues I mentioned, and a bit of a mix-up on our order (which they made right). But I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys. Josh is a very busy guy, but if you keep on him, he will definitely take care of you. Josh and Brad are true blue pros. I received 4 bids from different companies for 5 windows and 2 sliders. The quotes varied wildly. JB Windows and Doors were BY FAR the best priced for the same brands as the other guys. I also immediately liked Josh because he's not a salesman. He didn't immediatly pressure me to sign on the dotted line like some of the other companies. He assured me he'd give me the best price, and he did. Brad and Josue did a careful job on the installation. My new Amsco windows are beautiful and quiet. I see some negative comments regarding Josh's communication. It does sometimes take him a few days to get back to you, but he's a busy guy. Bottom line, he did everything he promised and more. I'll recommend him all day long! read more

UPDATE: in response to Terri's comment. It was not within the 3 week time frame. If they strive for excellent customer service why was I not contacted separately outside yelp for an explanation or apology. Their response is for show only on Yelp and it's entirely inaccurate. I am SO disappointed with JB Windows. Josh came to my house to give me an estimate. I liked him immediately because he was the ONLY company to come out without a fancy sales pitch. I'm a no-nonsense type of gal. Just give me an estimate, don't sales pitch me. He was going to replace two sliding glass doors and a back door. He gave me a verbal estimate and said he would email me the actual estimate along with a picture of the doors so my HOA would approve the project. To make a long story short it took them over 2 months to get me the estimate but I had to call many times and contact them through Yelp in hopes they HAD to respond. After I received the estimate, I tried to schedule the work but again, no response. SO....I guess they just don't want any business. I guess they have enough. Nothing else I can do. I went with JWG who was excellent. Gave me the same price with a much better window. I'm very happy I called JWG Windows. So I guess there's a positive to all this. read more

JB came and measured a spot for my new window to be installed cut out the drywall and then framed and installed my window for me in 3 hours!!! And they beat all competitors quotes. The window they installed is the best looking one in my house. My other windows are Millgard and the frame work of the other installers is depressing compared to J. I wish I came here first. Really disappointed at the poor communication in my experience here. Initially, our interactions went well. I have a window leak issue and wanted to replace it with a larger window. An appointment was made on a Thursday for a Monday visit. Josh showed up an hour late, which was frustrating since I had rescheduled my day and had important other things to attend to thus my time was wasted), however I'd heard here he is difficult to get in touch with so I gave it a pass. He looked at the window and expressed confidence that he could address all the issues, and "could have a hole cut as early as tomorrow." Later in the meeting he said, "well, maybe Wednesday, Thursday latest." He gave me what I believe was good information (only reason he gets two stars), and said he'd get me a quote later that day, or maybe the next day (Tuesday). By Thursday I hadn't heard from him, so I called and he told me he had been "too busy this week but I'm headed to the office right now and will have it for you this afternoon for sure." Okay, another pass. Of course, no quote came. I emailed on Friday, because I thought--well, maybe they mistyped my email or something, so why not follow out via that route. Nothing. By Sunday, I called and left a voicemail saying I didn't intend to keep chasing them down, but that I'd been promised a quote and was disappointed not to get one. Crazy thing? I was pretty much prepared to pay whatever his quote was even though I had not received any indication of cost. This is a project I just desperately want someone to take care off. So I think this incredibly poor level of customer service is foolish, because I'd have paid whatever he asked and pulled the trigger immediately. Maybe my single window issue was just too small potatoes for him? Maybe he is just understaffed. I don't know. But I know that it feels really crummy to be strung along, have your time wasted, and be promised something as simple as a quote and never receive it no matter how much you keep following up. If he had at least called me back and said something, even if he could no longer quote me for some nutty reason, then I wouldn't be leaving this review. What a shame. read more

He answered right away. I tried to schedule an appointment for 4. He said the last appointment time he had available today was 3. We scheduled the appointment at 3. He asked to text him my address which I did and he never responded to the text no big deal. But he never showed up to the appointment not at 3 or 3:30 or even 4! No call was made either to try to reschedule or say he's running late. What a waste of my minutes and time. What an unprofessional company. I would strongly suggest you consider other companies. Josh and Brad replaced my sliding patio door today. First of all, I couldn't be happier with the door itself. I ordered a sound-proof one as I basically live on the freeway, and even being super heavy and thick it slides effortlessly and you would never know it weighs several hundred pounds. They did an amazing job with everything... the door/wall transition looks beautiful. Very obvious that these guys are very detail oriented. I'm really picky about the work I'm doing on my house, and I have absolutely nothing I would even think could be improved on. The door clearly improved the noise, too. Secondly... the price. The door I needed is quite a bit wider than the average, and I wanted sound-proof super thick glass. What they charged me for this special order door + installation was 40% less than what two big name brand stores quoted me for just a standard door to my dimensions (no sound proofing, worse quality lock handle) without even including their additional price for installation (would have been another half a grand). I have been planning to change out my windows in the future (5 windows). After what I saw today, I had them measure all the windows when they were done with the door and am ready to order as soon as the quote comes in. I would recommend them to anyone, friends and family, and will be asking for their services again for the windows ASAP. Definitely as good as it gets. We called JWG Windows and Doors to give us an estimate on replacing windows. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and set up an appt. Mason Shepard came out. Very nice and professional. He looked at everything and took measurements. He then advised us that our current windows may be under warranty. Window were installed 20 yrs ago by a handyman. Mason said we should check, may not need new windows. He got us the number for Milgard customer service AND then said I'll call for you!! He called from our living room. I texted to confirm the next day and he did not even remember our conversation from the night before. We finally got him to come out and provide us with an estimate. Overall we are satisfied with our windows and slider, with 2 caveats. First, after the installation our blinds were still on the floor so I asked Josh if he was going to put them back up. He said we wouldn't be able to use them with our new windows. In our case this wasn't a huge deal; the blinds were old and not that great but it would have been nice to know ahead of time we were going to need new window coverings! Second, after they left I noticed 2 small holes in 1 screen in our bedroom. They could have been easily missed but we didn't put them there; we hadn't even moved in yet. I contacted Josh and he keeps saying he'll take care of it, but it's been 6 months now. I gave him some leeway because we are farther away in Oceanside but I think it's been long enough. So if you do decide to go with this company, definitely ask about your window coverings and be sure to check all your screens before they leave! read more
