Keep a close look out because you can easily miss out on a real treasure! They are located right next to Ava Roasters but in a small non descript little shopping center. To be honest, I almost passed on stopping by, but I looped around and found a parking spot in their private lot. There were limited dessert selections the day I stopped in. Was hoping for baked goods and desserts but they only had ice cream. I did not leave empty-handed, though. As a catering kitchen, they had many delicious grab and go options in their fridge. Their mashed potatoes were a huge hit. Refried black beans were also very good. They had a pot roast that looked amazing, but I vowed to try it next time. Will keep y'all posted. read more

Stopped in for my favorite sandwich, the Italian Grinder (you have to try it, amazing), and picked up a couple other items, pulled pork Mac and cheese and the spiced pumpkin lentil soup. Had the soup with 1;2 a sandwich, the soup was one of the best soups I've ever had! Had the pulled pork Mac and cheese for dinner. The pork was perfect, the bbq sauce was sweet and spicy and the Mac and cheese nice and creamy. Stephanie must be from the south, because this was better than anything I've had and I've tried a lot all,over the country and it had soul! This place is a gem! I've been there a couple of times and every thing I got was great. Meatloaf with mashed potatoes were delicious and I got a few salads which were delicious. I was so excited when I stumbled upon a home baker. Perhaps, I have been watching too much Food Network, so I had higher than normal expectations. I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday. I saw that she had special seasonal cakes listed. The one I wanted was on the winter list, but she said she was happy to accommodate even though it was out of season. We ordered the Lemon and Tanqueray Cake. The cake was waiting for us outside on-time and looked beautiful. Our disappointment was with taste and value. The cake was dry and the frosting overly sweet. I would have also preferred that more layers have compote instead of just the one. I saw comparable cakes for $20 less. I asked if she could write Happy Birthday, and was advised she does not write on cakes but for $10 more she could add a decoration. I already paid $80 and was not willing to pay more. Not sure if I would order another cake here, but would not discourage others from doing so. read more

Long-time Yelp lurker, first-time poster. Just a Dash pivoted from amazing wedding cakes to amazing meals for pick-up during Covid. My roommate and I quite literally lived on Stephanie's food. We ordered breakfast burritos, packed salads, appetizers, entrees, tons and tons of desserts -- did I mention the desserts? We were beyond thrilled when Just a Dash opened this month for actual drop-in food ordering! They've got delicious sammies with even more delicious sides, their housemade flavored lemonades and sodas, the occasional jar of fresh cookies, and soft serve ice cream! With chocolate sauce! My fiancé emailed this business about our wedding cake. We didn't hear back for a week so we ordered our cake from another local bakery. When we finally heard back we let them that we had purchased a cake elsewhere but we still wanted to order 5 dozen tarts for our wedding. Tried to order a custom cake from this person for my best friends birthday with an 11 day advance and was pretty much told they are booked out on the day I needed it by. Confusing to me why I couldn't pick it up a day or two before hand considering I am giving them 11 day notice... seems a lot like they just were not interested in my business because of the very short dismissive response I received. Very disappointed because this companies portfolio was the most appealing to me out of everyone else in the area who makes custom cakes. Crazy to me how people will just brush off business like that. She came to our rescue in our time of need, as I was a Beaverton Bakery bride, who unfortunately had to scramble a little over two weeks before our wedding to try and find a new baker when Beaverton Bakery announced they were closing. I sent her exactly what we wanted and although she had been booked, she told us she could squeeze us in given the circumstances. Our cake was DELICIOUS. The flavors we chose (our of the assortment she gave us for tastings) were Pumpkin, Salted Caramel Chocolate, and Vanilla with Chocolate Ganache. I found Stephanie from the reviews on yelp I just wanted a chocolate cake with Happy Birthday on it. BUT GET THIS: She emailed back and was like do you mind if I make it beautiful beyond your expectations? I'm like sure go for it. We told her that it was a beach theme. It was beautiful with blue waves up the side. And the main thing was the taste. SO GOOD. My M-I-L was so tickled she ditched us so she could go back to her assisted living facility to show off her cake to the rest of her friends. Ok so I'm going to be totally honest when I rolled up to this home bakery I was a bit trepidatious however once Stephanie opened the door and I saw my beautiful cake all my fears subsided. We had such a hard time finding a baker. It felt like every place we tried fell short of our expectations. Then, we met Stephanie! We were so happy (and relieved) to find a baker with a great variety of flavors all as delicious as the last. Her frosting is amazing, I could eat a bucket of it! We got married last August, and she completely made our day, both literally and figuratively. First of all, we were one of the lucky couples to win her annual Budget Wedding Cake Contest. That amazing discount was one of the greatest gifts we received. It allowed us to fulfill our desire to go all out with a dazzling array of treats for our guests. From a gorgeous three-tiered cake adorned with pressed flowers, to hundreds and hundreds of pastries, cookies, and parfaits, the food at our dessert-centered wedding reception, held at our home, was exquisite and unforgettable. She also made us the most sumptuous savory grazing table we've ever seen, with fruits, nuts, cheeses, meats, pickles, and dips as delicious and high-quality as her baked goods, which are gold standard. She's a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America's pastry program, which is like the Harvard of carbhydrates, so even desserts we thought we knew and liked, when made by her, were 1,000 times more delicious. We're still thinking about her strawberry-rhubarb pie, key lime tarts, peanut butter rice krispie treats, and the custom wedding cake, with its mind-blowing flavor combinations: coconut cake with pineapple curd and rum buttercream; cardamom cake with orange-white-chocolate ganache and rose buttercream; and pistachio cake with fresh raspberries, mascarpone, and vanilla buttercream. I could go on ... but I'll just end by saying, we may still be in the honeymoon phase, but not a day has gone by that we're not grateful to Stephanie for all the hard work and creativity she put into our special day.
