I'm walking through or passing by Little Norway Park almost every day on my way to work. It's a…read moregreat little greenspace that I'm sure is unknown to most Torontonians. But for this neighbourhood it's a great spot! The baseball diamond gets used at least a few evenings a week. It's great to sit on one of the benches after work and relax and watch a game or watch people playing with their dogs. There is also a splash pad area for the kiddies just a little south of the main park area, beside the ferry to the island airport. Many, many an afternoon i've spent at the ferry terminal, working and envying the little kids playing in the water on a hot & sunny day. After lunch they have a few day camps that come and take over the place, if you want your kids to mingle, it's a good time to come. They fill up the pond area with fresh water every time and drain it later in the day so it doesn't attract birds (and bird poo!). Easy to get to on the Harbourfront Streetcar. Just get off at the Bathurst stop and it's on the south-west corner of Bathurst and Queens Quay. Enjoy!

My son enjoyed playing with the fallen red leaves and I enjoyed the little oasis in the middle of what I felt was nowhere. The beauty of walking is you can STOP and see the beauties around you. Adored it a must visit especially if you live in the area.

Nice community center where I come to play badminton during the weekends. It costs $4 to play from…read more3 pm to 5 pm, which is an awesome price, considering many other places charge anywhere from $6 to $8. There are 3 courts for badminton, and the same space is used for other sports. There is also a running track upstairs where you can run 19 laps, which is equivalent to 1 mile. There's also a nice swimming pool, along with an area for ping pong. I heard there is a workout room somewhere, but I have still yet to explore the rest of the facility. Just today I discovered some music rooms downstairs!!!! This community center keeps surprising me with new discoveries lol. The quality of this place is not too new, but it's not falling apart either. It is nicely maintained. The best part.... free parking lol.

There's a small but smart weight room, great pool, gym with a new floor and lots of multipurpose and studio space. For new parents, families new to the area, or anyone who wants to get or stay active, it's the perfect place. My only criticism ever was with the kids karate instructor. He seems to like to make kids cry, seems to have a chip on his shoulder and in general isn't that good at karate. That's one minus in 3 years of pluses, so whatever.

Jill pours her heart and soul into this store, and you feel it the moment you walk in. She's not just a business owner -- she's a mom, a mentor, and one of the most genuine people I've had the pleasure of working with. The passion she has for helping families and curating the best products for kids is unmatched. From the way she supports local makers to how she goes above and beyond for her customers -- it's inspiring. I've seen firsthand how hard she works behind the scenes, and it honestly brought me to tears a few times. She truly cares. If you're looking for a store that actually gives a damn about quality, community, and kindness, Jill and the Beanstalk is it. And if you get the chance to work with Jill -- take it. You won't regret it!

The setting here is superb. Lots of variety for climbers of all levels. Since they've updated the gym I feel like the pieces that they use seem fairly new, very raw and fresh. Their bouldering levels are by colours. They have some auto-belay options and their top rope is also varied and interesting. Top rope uses a grigri that is pre-installed, which is similar style to most Toronto rock-climbing gyms, and their figure-8 knot is typically left in the ropes. I don't do lead but I see the lead climbers climbing all the way to the roof and across and it's always amusing. Since they've renovated they've added a much-needed water fountain, the ones with automatic sensors for your water bottles. Also since they've renovated and started this routine of weekly resets the gym gets incredibly packed and as a result, I think it can be a bit unfriendly for beginners. One area that I think that they can spend more attention on is their change rooms with rusting lockers and just an overall dirty and cold feeling.

I love this place--intro class by Sean (sp?) was dope and the one-month deal* that comes with being a new member to the community is the sweetest. Flying solo for the intro? No problemo. Come anyway. Oh, and you have unlimited access to the gym post-training so, yeah, stay and climb for as long as you like. For me, I love figuring out the routes whilst building strength. (I then pair this activity with dance classes to get my cardio in.) Wear a light long sleeve, long pants (yoga pants A-OK), bring water, bring a lock for lockers, and you're set. *Come as often as you like for $30. And ALSO? ALSO. Also: includes rental shoes, harness, chalk bag.
