Visiting Fantasy Fair at Woodbine Mall feels like entering a sad time capsule. The massive three-level Dreamer's Play Village soft playground is severely weathered, filthy, and desperately needs an upgrade. Most of the iconic curved slides are completely boarded up, which heavily disappoints the kids. The remaining climbing sections are covered in thick dust, held together with questionable zip-ties, and poorly maintained. Unsupervised children run wild across sticky padding that makes you want to immediately throw away your socks. For a steep ticket price, this neglected, run-down play area feels entirely unsafe and overwhelmingly depressing. Save your money. Use to be a good place for kids to come out and enjoy . Came here a few times with my kids. It's certainly a pretty far drive if you're coming from anywhere north of Scarborough. The best thing about it is that it's located inside a mall which is good for rainy and snowy days. The mall and the park itself is run down. It seems as if they don't invest in fixing their rides. We've been there a few times. The same rides at least 5 or 6 of them were broken / not functional. That is something that needs improvement and perhaps renovation. It's a good place for kids between 3 - 7 years old to burn off their energy. I wish there was an indoor amusement park like this closer up town in like Richmond Hill or Vaughan. I would still consider coming back again just so my kids can enjoy it again. read more

My grandson and grandpa loved it! Go early as it gets very busy in the afternoon. Some lineups but tolerable.

This place feels a lot like a shell of a former great destination. It's almost like visiting a bombed out time capsule; like the mall scene in The Last of Us. It was $79 for a family of 4 to go on the rides -- even though 4 out of 9 of the rides were completely broken/non-operational on Canada Day weekend. As other reviewers have stated, there is no air conditioning and we were all sweating profusely indoors just walking around the area. Woodbine Mall is truly a historical piece in that it is a big part of the history and lore of Toronto but in its current state it's like a strip mall in Borat's home village. The positive I will say is that the young men and women working there at the ticket booths and ride operation were courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. Given there are many, many families they have to deal with all day long in a hot and humid mall with no A/C, I have great respect for their work ethic. With all of this said I am giving this 3 stars because for my 1 and 2 year old this was the highlight of their trip to Toronto and that is worth something. At their age they could care less for all of the negative adult experiences in the same room. They don't even understand what climate control is or the plight of the Canadian service worker. If an indoor venue encourages the attendance of small children during the summer months it must tell people LOUDLY AND CLEARLY that the venue is not air-conditioned. Fantasy Fair gave no such warning and the temperature indoors last Saturday July 20 grew hot enough to become a potential safety concern for children running around the space. Air conditioning vents are all over the ceiling but multiple staff confirmed to me that the air conditioning was "not working" and that their understanding was that the owner, (I'm told his name is Chris), had no plans to fix it, preferring instead to use the lower cost ceiling fans. Make no mistake, these ceiling fans did NOT properly control the temperature. As for the staff, they appeared uniformly unhappy. They were competent and helpful, but clearly miserable in the heat as well. The owner's apparent unwillingness - or perhaps financial inability - to repair the air conditioning and ensure a pleasant and safe environment for guests and staff made my wife and I wonder how well the rides were being maintained. Unlike temperature, neglect in ride maintenance may go unnoticed by the public until a catastrophe occurs. That thought occurred to us around the time the heat became completely unbearable. We were forced to leave, despite the fact that we had paid for the expensive "passes" which, it turned out, didn't cover half the rides there (those cost extra), while two of the approximately six rides that the pass did cover, were not operating. The whole experience felt more like a crooked carnival, trying to con citizens out their hard-earned money, rather than the wholesome family fair it tries to present itself as. We originally had gotten passes bought through Groupon as a Xmas gifts ! What an incredible smart idea we thought, an indoor amusement park! Any weather, open all year round! Fantastic! When we arrived the kids were so excited, we came by on a week day, and it was nice and quiet here. The children didn't have to wait in line and got to enjoy all the rides- multiple times! All the staff seem very friendly and at first glance this place looks fantastic. The more we looked around, and went from ride to ride, We were starting to get disappointed , when and where we started to notice that this place started to look fairly neglected, and the lack of staff, for example there would be one member in charge of two or three rides and they had to run back-and-forth. We also started to notice the different areas where the rides themselves are becoming extremely neglected and forgotten... Attached you will see the Ferris wheel we are talking about, turn up the sound and you'll hear it is making extreme noise, and some parts which look like they are possibly a hydraulic system, those look like they're torn out. I had brought it to my employees attention, and she seemed a bit worried and mentioned that although other parents have brought it to her attention, and she in fact had gone to the supervisor who got upset with her and told her not to discuss this or bring it up to anyone's attention. However I saw it recorded it she asked me to please not show it to the supervisor as somehow she may get in trouble for it?? (In the video there is a lady running the ride, however it was not the one I spoke to) and I would like everyone to see. As evidence ,this place has great potential but needs a little extra TLC and childrens safety should always be a priority no matter what, when or where! I loved going with him and as a parent I found it very affordable (under $100) for the unlimited family pass. Unlimited rides are included for up to 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff let my son and I ride certain rides multiple times without getting off because there were no lines.The dinosaur models were interesting to look at. Everyone loved the train ride. We booked a main floor party room for my daughter's 4th birthday here. Having a March birthday basically means that you won't be doing much outdoors and Fantasy Fair offered us an indoor party space with self catering option which was great since I didn't want to serve up pizza and fries for my guests which is very common at most kid's party joints. Our room was very spacious, probably too big for our group of 13 but I would rather not be up on the second floor rooms, climbing narrow stairs with no washrooms on that level. Our room was decorated with some balloons and happy birthday banners which was part of the birthday party package they provide. Our room also had a fridge and a microwave for our use which really should have been cleaned before. The hand-sanitizer dispenser also sat empty the whole time we were there even after repeated requesting the staff to refill it. -2 stars. The venue is perfect for little kids as most of their rides are on the tamer/smaller side and all the kids had a great time while the adults took turns chaperoning the little ones on rides. The rest of the adults sat and ate in peace in our room looking out into the rest of the FF space that was packed with people. Without the party room, the visit to FF would be one of those unbearable experiences with swarms of people, all trying to chase their kids down, find a place to sit and eat in mad chaos. Overall, FF is an affordable kid's birthday party venue with loads of fun for the youngsters. It may not be the ultimate destination, and don't look to this place as a bonafide theme park. Visited on Tuesday night --ALL 3 of your signs say that the park closes at 7pm, however, the supervisor stated that website closes at 8pm. We came to the mall to shop with 2 children (and knew about the $10 before last hour closing and decided to purchases passes to the rides) they were so disappointed because now we have to wait for extra hour. The supervisor on duty was honestly friendly and was very attentive to what I had to say. This is FALSE advertisement. Instead of using paper to re-do hours, why not make different signs for off season/on season hours? Makes so much more sense. Moreover, the lady working in the customer service desk IS RUDE, she ignored me TWICE, rolled her eyes at me when I asked for the information to contact you while the supervisor went to fix 1 sign. The supervisor said he spoke to the manager of the park and that she said "in no way Im I getting the deal early because the sign says so" (Which it DOES NOT)- states park hours may change, NOT that the sign may be wrong. This place is fantastic for young kids. I mean what's better than an indoor amusement park you can visit in the winter? It's especially good for toddlers for which activities are hard to find. Here they can go on many of the rides. Plus, the play structure is large and very nice and adults can accompany their kids. Don't bother buying single tickets for individual rides - get the play-all-you-can bracelet - the price is reasonable. I think this place gets quite busy on the weekends, so beware. For a family outing - this place is pretty great for keeping your younger kiddies busy for an afternoon. However, I will be perfectly honest with you, this place hasn't changed much from my childhood days, except the mall is more rundown and could really use some more updates, since this place is definitely not the most happening place around. That being said, pricing is decent, if you purchased one of group deals - since a 10 ticket pack is going to cost you more money. The group deal usually includes unlimited rides and access to the giant play structure. Also they have a separate line just to deal with the purchasers of group deals. There are several party rooms for kids and parents, so not too hard to host a birthday party here. Ride wise, they have about 6 or 7 overall - and you are taking around a toddler - they can ride pretty much 50% to 60% of the rides with you, which is great. Line ups aren't too crazy and the staff knows how to keep things moving. So let's talk nostalgia factor, let's be real, it is completely plays a huge role here, if you grew up in the area - it use to be the place for indoor fun, when you are a child of the 80s and maybe some of the 90s, you remember being super excited to check this place out for a birthday party or just a day out with the parents. Overall, it's a great place to revisit your childhood and introduce your kids to Fantasy Fair. you get to indulge in your childhood memories and they have the added benefit of tuckering themselves out. You're probably enjoy revisiting your childhood enough that you probably won't notice that the faded paint and overall just how tired the mall looks. We had my son's 3rd bday party here. We booked a room for 1.5 hours. I was a bit dissatisfied at first that they only give you 15 minutes for set up, but when I got there I realized why. They set up balloons and party hats for you and the rooms are colorful so it doesn't require much. So that was nice. We brought a cake from the shop downstairs and that was so convenient. The only issue I had was that the room was on an upper lever with no elevator so it was a challenge for those with strollers and for me to bring up my wagon with food. If some has a relative or friend in a wheelchair, they wouldn't be able to attend the party! :( The service was great. The people that work there are on top of their game. Making sure you're okay and take care of. The kids had such an amazing time on all the rides! Made me happy. read more

We took our kids here and they loved it! Too bad some rides were unavailable when we went, and its pretty much another world inside and you wouldn't think it was part of the mall. The only downside is that there isnt much rides for toddlers to enjoy. Billing itself as "Ontario's Largest Indoor Amusement Park", I did not have high expectations coming here on a Friday afternoon. Looking for a diversion for a five- and two-year old though, we were willing to try anything - I was pleasantly surprised! 3.5 stars rounded up. Located in Woodbine Mall, we bought the Family All Day Pass for $55 (we found a coupon online that brought this down a bit). This gets you four non-transferable wristbands for unlimited rides. The midway is typical CNE-calibre fare (I found a list on website): Fantasy Fair Express Train - slow moving train that courses through the fair, includes a tunnel; Playvillage - fairly massive jungle gym type setup in the centre with some huge supervised slides that the kids were scared of; Antique Carousel - classic merry-go-round Bumper Boats - no adults allowed, but supervised dude in the pool; Smash 'n' Dash (Bumper Cars) - who doesn't love bumper cars? Spinners - small looped coaster with a couple bumps, gets some good speed; and more (Ferris wheel, tea cups, etc.) While I was at first worried at the seemingly lackadaisical teens manning the rides, they were all polite and good around the kids. I suppose you'd have to be doing their job all day. While Woodbine itself isn't a destination of note these days, it was extremely convenient to have access to the mall's facilities and food court. Pickings were better than expected, and comparable to any mall food court in the area. Considering we didn't have to deal with lines or crowds (not sure how busy it gets on a weekend), and that there's no hot weather since it's all indoors, this outing turned out much better than I expected. The kids had a blast, and as long as you avoid the arcade or $1 rides (you know, those vehicular one-offs that jiggle back and forth for a minute), it's a great value and a fun way to spend the day. read more

You can stay on the rides instead of getting out to wait in line. Great for younger kids like 3 to 5 years old. Plenty of parking clean bathrooms and lockers available. My little guy loved it. I've been coming here since I was a little girl so I love that I can now bring my kids here. What I honestly find so amazing about this place is that no matter how busy it is the line ups always move quite well. I would say that this place is not really for children over 8 but with that being said you can really create some wonderful memories for your little ones here. We were visiting family in the area, but only visiting for 2 days. We wanted to take the kids, 4 and 2, to have a little fun. My aunt mentioned this place and I am glad we went. The 2yo couldn't ride everything but that is ok because we were only in there for about an hour or so before we had to meet up with the family. The rides are cute and the kids had so much fun. Even seeing the large dinosaur's was pretty cool to me. I have been to the Fantasy Fair many times and this is my first posted review. Fantasy Fair is located inside the Woodbine Mall in Etobicoke right across from the Woodbjne Race track. You can get a Groupon deal for a family of four with a minimum of one adult per family for a good price. There a big indoor playground as well. If you're not looking for rides just pay the small fee for the indoor playground. The rides are gear towards younger kids. My daughters are 8 now and I can see them slowly losing interest in the rides. There's a merry go round, train ride, Ferris while, bumper cars. The Ferris wheel and rock climb (need runners) wall takes forever. Be prepared to wait for a long time. The good thing about this place is that is located in a mall so you can go into the mall food court and get food. All in all a fun experience but a lot of times when we come some of the rides are out of service. read more

I was really impressed with the new rides, it's always nice to see a business that puts money back into the business. The staff were well dressed, clean and very attentive to their rides. I had to ask a employee where the washroom was and he took the time to walk me and my daughter to the washrooms. The washrooms and the whole park were very clean and there was staff cleaning throughout my stay. All rides were running smoothly and seemed well maintained. The pricing was very reasonable. I definitely felt like I got my money worth. Overall we had a great experience and we will definitely be returning. I don't know if this is just the result of timing but the massive crowd made this trip a complete write off for my family. The rides were standard fair that you would find at any local carnival, but the waiting lines were not unlike those of Canada's Wonderland. To be fair, this was a march break trip so I don't know what it's like on a normal day. It just felt like the park was built to handle a quarter of the people that were there. It was so jam packed it felt like a fire hazard. If waiting 30-45 minutes for bumper cars doesn't bother you then go right ahead. read more

The place could use a little updating/maintenance as some portions sections of the playground seem permanently closed (broken slides/climbing area). It was a pair of brand new shoes I deliberately put inside my boots knowing the risk of convenience to steal if I just leave it in the shoes cubbies (play village). Came here with my 3 year old and my 8 month old. We were given a Groupon deal for unlimited rides for 2 people. It is in a dated mall with not many shopping options, and most people who come here for the fair. The fair also is older, but there are many options for rides. It was surprisingly very fun for my son with the passes to go on the rides. However, the rides are not cheap; around $5 per ride. The rides are mainly geared towards older kids ( mine is only 3) but he was able to go on quite a few rides with an adult. He really enjoyed the train ride, the indoor playground and also the carousel. It wasn't too busy the day we went on a weekday as well. The place is not the newest or cleanest, but for a young child, the rides are quite fun and there are quite a variety. The pass is worth it for a 2-3 hour timeframe. My baby was able to go to the indoor playground and enjoyed to sit and climb around. They had some other rides that were faster and spun around, and I think they were more suitable for older children but my son still enjoyed it. I believe the groupon deal was around $45 for 2 people, which is not super cheap but decent for a day of fun for a child and parent. read more
