Lionel's Pony Farm & Petting Zoo

Lionel's Pony Farm & Petting Zoo

Lionel Petting Zoo is only in operation from May until October, which makes sense as it looks like…read morethe whole zoo is outdoors. They have a maximum of 10 people inside at a time (according to their website) however even though we booked a specific time frame, there was pretty clearly more than 10 people inside. Unlike some other zoos we went too, there was no real path to follow. It's basically a giant square with a small square on the inside. The outline of the larger square is filled with fenced in animals, and the inner square has fenced animals as well. Although its understandable they have an admission fee for the upkeep of the animals, I feel it should have included the feed. Other zoos are free admission and only charge for feed (ie. high park) so in terms of value, this is a bit below par. Finally, I would never say the animals are aggressive, however when trying to feed the goats, one of them bit the entire feed bag and ripped it away. As I'm an adult, this is fine as I am agile and athletic, however a small child could have easily gotten injured, so perhaps some more training would suffice.

Went mid August looking for something to do with my son. I though the admission price was kind of…read morepricey ($28 for 5 people), does not matter if you have 3 people, same price for the group and much smaller than I thought. You get to choose time slot and we only got 45 mins before we had to leave which was plenty of time mind you since it was really hot. Extra $5 for a bag of feed to feed the animals. My son enjoyed looking at the animals but I wish the price was per person so I don't have to pay the same amount even if I have a smaller family.

Pro tip: do NOT park your car at the neighbouring seemingly empty lot- it belongs to ford, and they are NOT friendly neighbours. Your car will get towed without a warning. This community centre is spacious and clean. Everything is easy to find. The gym is gigantic and stretches far beyond my eyes. The pool is 50m, worked by beautiful and hardworking lifeguards (lol just kidding, shameless plug). Both areas have plenty of seating for viewers. The hallways are large and extensive, so don't be afraid to wander around. There's also a fitness centre overlooking the pool. It's kind of small and lame but I rarely see it packed, so I guess it'd be a good idea. It's not great for lifting, but it has a lot of equipment for such a small gym. The regulars are usually older adults, trying to get some exercise in.

Came here for a para pan-am game back in the summer, and I must say the building itself is…read morebeautiful. The parking and accessibility of it was terrible though, since the walk from the parking lot to the building is far and I can definitely imagine that being inconvenient for some people or even just during the winter season with all the snow and slush. The inside is very airy and spacious with tons of natural light. The building is also brand new now, so all the facilities are great!

Unionville Mainstreet, Unionville

Such a fun acitivity! They generously hosted an event at our local school and it was so organized!…read more They of course collaborated with the school to ensure there were enough staff to supervise and assist with day of event tasks such as explaining the concept and instructions, routinely changing the water used to clean off brushes, going around with a never ending selection of paint colors, everything you could think of. They were very enthusiastic, welcoming and helpful. Prior to the event, we were asked for a count re: number of attendees. I assumed it was only for the kids as it was free. Was very surprised they had set up tiles for the adults as well! Thank you for letting us participate! We had a blast! Looking forward to visiting one of your locations to choose a new piece to decorate! Great family activity!

What a fun and affordable activity to do on Mainstreet Unionville. I booked my reservation ahead of…read moretime on their website because I knew it would be busy on the Saturday. They also take walk-in's. You don't have much time, 1hr 45mins to be exact. Especially when it's busy, they really give you your 5-10 minute countdown for the next reservations that come after you. There are a lot of pottery pieces to choose from, and all the prices are written at the bottom of the piece. You can also check their website to see what they have. There are lots of paints and colours to choose from. The paintbrushes are very clean and in good condition. Our pieces were ready for pick up the next day, very fast. It was wrapped in paper and very secure during pick up. The only downside I found was sharing a table with other guests. It's a long table with plastic unsteady stools, and if another guest shakes the table, it moves the entire table. Our pieces were $30 and $33. Very good pricing. Staff were nice and informative.

I brought my kids here when they were offering one week free admission. We came on a Friday at 4pm…read moreand luckily we didn't have to wait long to be able to get in meanwhile there was a wait list due to full capacity. It was our first time visiting and it certainly didn't disappoint. My kids had a blast! The playground is pretty big with various activities to do. They even have an area of claw machines and an arcade - you can win tickets and redeem for prizes. One thing to mention is finding parking was a bit challenging. They offer party packages but the pricing quite steep in my opinion so I don't think I would consider it. To be honest even the admission is pretty expensive $30 per kid. The playground is nice and clean but I don't think we will be back if that's the price for admission.

My niece is 11 months and they charged $8 (weekend) for the entire day w/ in and out privilege and one adult was free m. Additional adults were $6 (weekend pricing) which isn't so bad compared to other children playground. All children are required to wear grippy socks and adult need to wear regular socks and can also purchase from there for $3. The area is huge! There's a seating area outside in the lobby for those who don't want to go inside and can watch from the outside. There are cubicles to store your shoes. Then inside there's an area for arcade & claw machines for the older children. Bouncy castle, huge playground, and enclosed area for younger kids. There are also plenty of spaces for adults to hang around and a section to buy snacks but seems like it was closed when I was there. I also appreciate them offering slipper for the bathroom cause it was quite wet in the floor. TBH, I wasn't sure what they would have for babies but surprisingly my cousin's 11 month old had a blast! She loved the slides, the wall with the sticks (not sure what they're called), and crawling around in the playground. I feel like they depend more on parent supervision as there was only 2 people working/supervising the area. Overall, fun place for kids!
