Carl is the best. Last year I had the "error 2" temperature sensor problem. Took it to the Jura Expert and he not only replaced the sensor, he cleaned and descaled the machine and replaced the grinder burrs. Got a 10 year old machine working as good as new. More recently had a problem with clogged dispenser spouts, resulting in water/coffee pouring out over the dispenser housing rather than through the spouts. Reached out to Carl and he suggested a solution to declog the spouts that wouldn't require me to bring it in. Worked like a charm and we're back in business - at no cost to me. Carl really is a Jura Expert, and I am so grateful for his help. My Jura machine was malfunctioning in a way that didn't make sense. I corrected the problem, but a repeating error message prevented me from using the machine at all. It was maddening. The only option I knew of was Jura's official repair service, through Capresso, which operates in another state, and requires more than $100 in shipping costs alone, not to mention shipping time, waiting in line, and the time to return. So, I did a search online and found a couple of Jura repairman in Los Angeles, but after reading Carl's reviews on Yelp, I called him. After 10 years of faithful service our Jura Ena Micro 9 finally gave out on us and displayed an "error 8" message. I absolutely dreaded the thought of having to properly pack it up, ship it out and then pay big money to have it repaired. I briefly considered buying a replacement. Holy Cow! The replacement cost gave me sticker shock. Naturally I looked for a work around. The workaround was actually pretty simple. I utilized the services of local Jura Expert Carl. My experience with Carl is similar to others that have left a review. After 16 years (don't judge the lack of time between maintenance, these things are work horses, so you don't really think about what's inside), my machine (Impressa C5) started to have some issues with dispensing. I, like I am sure many others, looked on the web for answers, and stumbled across Jura's repairs, and local repairs to discover, I should have been having this thing maintained on a regular basis, even if it were just for hygienic reasons. Based on reviews, I called Carl, told him I could drop off and pick up the following weekend, he asked where I lived, said to me, "give me an hour and a half and I will have it done to save you a trip". I dropped it off, went to lunch, and before I was done, got a message that it was ready. "Brew group disassembled and overhauled. Seals replaced, new aftermarket hardened stainless steel grinder burrs, installed. Machine was cleaned inside and out. Stainless steel cup grid was machine polished". I don't recall how long it has been since my coffee tasted this good. I told a few friends with Jura's that Carl recommended an overhaul every 3-4 years, and one of them was coming up on 4 years, so they will be going to Carl. Professional service, less expensive than sending to Jura (but that's not the point, the down time or lack of down time is), quick service and machine seems to be ready to continue to be my go to for daily coffee! read more
