Paul was there too, very friendly, down to earth trustworthy people. I really enjoyed doing business with them and had 3 cheapy watch batteries changed. They didn't act bizarre, force me to pay before I left or anything weird- could have, and it would have really slowed me down.

I told them what I was looking for and that I don't have much experience in buying jewelry. They were left with Elizabeth of Angelo's who stated she would call me with repair costs. I received a phone call from Elizabeth about 10 days later and she stated the following: The heart shaped bracelet with 7 stones clasp was broken. Elizabeth of Angelo's informed me that the clasp would have to be replaced and I would receive a "credit" for the broken on. The open links bracelet would not close properly. Elizabeth stated this was a minor issue and there would be no charge. I went to pick up my bracelets on August 4. The heart shaped bracelet with 7 stones "new" clasp did not close tightly. I immediately brought that to Elizabeth's attention who stated "the gap is not big enough" to cause any concern. Then she went stated how the clasp had cost more than she had stated because the price of gold went up. I made it clear it was not acceptable. It appears the original clasp was simply repaired and not replaced as stated. I was told the replacement cost was $130.00. The open link bracelet still did not close properly. It actually was worse. Elizabeth than informed me the cost to repair would be $44.00. It was supposed to be no charge. At this point, I realized the merchant was not reputable and just wanted my bracelets and to get out of the store. I paid the $181.90 only in order to get my bracelets back. I made it clear to Elizabeth I was not a satisfied customer. She made no attempt to fix the problems. Within 4 days of wearing the 2 bracelets they both fell off my wrist at different times. Luckily, I was in my home and was able to retrieve them. Neither can be worn after the damage Angelo's did to them. If I could give this business a minus -10 I would. BEWARE and take your business elsewhere.

He continues to work on watches (from changing batteries on Timex, etc.) to repairs on Rolex and Patek Philippe. He sells and repairs fine jewelry. He also works on French and English shelf clocks (small carriage size and larger). We met him the other the other day when we brought in an antique wall clock and he politely said that he stopped working on antique clocks about 10 years ago because they take so much time. All the while he was talking, he was unscrewing the clock works and telling us interesting things about it's age, the maker, and about working on time pieces. In the hour we were there having a fun conversation, he unbent a spindle, oiled everything that could have been keeping the clock from working, and explained how to hang it so that it had the best chance of keeping good time. We took it home, hung it on the wall and with a couple small adjustments to make it level, it has been keeping good time ever since. He asked that if I could get the word out that he doesn't fix old spring or weight driven clocks anymore, and I said I would. So there you have it. He'll work on wrist watches, pocket watches, pieces of jewelry or French carriage clock size or larger. GABE WAS WONDERFUL. I would trust him implicitly if I had a valuable watch. Alas, I only have an old wooden wall clock that is working again after 35 years of just hanging around being pretty.

Over the years we have often thought of finding a good custom jeweler to create a beautiful setting for her stone. In July of this year (2019) we moved to Stuart Florida. We took Pat's stone to another local jeweler with decades of experience. The result left much to be desired. We then heard about John David Cooney. We made an appointment to go in to talk with John David. I had come up with a couple of possible ideas and wanted John David's opinion. John David sat down with us, went over our ideas, asked many questions to get an idea of what we were looking for, then began to jot down initial ideas of his own. The end result was a magnificent, hand made, one of a kind, true masterpiece in white gold. John David created an exceptionally bold ring out of white gold that really showed of Pat's large aquamarine to the max. We are overwhelmed at the beauty and creativity of the ring that John David Cooney made for us and would highly recommend that anyone looking for that uniquely personal piece of jewelry make a point to visit John David Cooney at his place of business in Stuart Florida. Believe us, you will not be disappointed.
