I told them what I was looking for and that I don't have much experience in buying jewelry. They educated me on each part of the necklace i was buying; explaining how it's made, the pros and cons, etc. They showed options all around my price range to allow me to make the choices I felt were right. They even called their supplier and requested parts of the necklace for me to see the next day. I was in and out multiple times for two weeks trying to get all the details right and each time I went in they remembered me and greeted me warmly. Went into sell some 14K scrap a few months ago. Quoted price was $14 and change per pennyweight. Daily value for 14K scrap value shown online was $71.88 which works out to less than 20% on the dollar. I wasn't expecting 100% but several online sources show 70-85% as the norm. In addition after the clerk brought a piece I had to the guy in the glass room to determine if it was gold replied it was Not gold. Next shop evaluated same piece and pointed out piece was marked 585 which is a european marking for14K. Sold my scrap and received 75% (instead of 20%) by taking a 20 minute drive, which resulted in about $3,000. MORE for my quantity of a few ounces. Gold has an Intrinsic value not a subjective one so this difference of a 20% of value offer which I closed at 75% elsewhere was Ridiculously LOW. read more

Very good service if you need help with a watch battery or resizing the sort of watch band that needs links to be added or removed. Prices on Citizen watches (the only thing they sell that I approach being knowledgeable about) aren't quite as low as those you'll find online, but almost, and if you want a proper look before you buy, it's worth the slight premium. That was my day today with Joseph's Jewlery in Port Salerno (South Stuart, really). Excellent Customer Service. My family doesn't buy a lot of jewelry, but when we do, its always at Joseph's. Joseph and his son, Michael, run a world class jewelry shop. Family owned and operated for, I don't know, over twenty years? Beautiful location on south Federal Highway, way nicer than the old store, but you're going here for the service and the product, not just the presentation. Ten years ago I saw Joseph, and we jointly designed a beautiful fish ring to replace my plain wedding band. Joseph worked directly with the goldsmith in Miami and although the ring wasn't perfect the first time (it was an original design, mind you, all at a production ring's cost), we sent it through for a revision and it came out perfectly. Today, I picked up that ring after the jeweler soldered some ring guard posts into the band. I've lost enough weight that the ring, one of my most prized possessions, was slipping off my hand, and I didn't know what to do. But Michael did. I have to say, given the price of gold, I think the work, and the other repairs we've had done over the years, was very fair. So, if you're not so into big jewelry chains (pun intended!) and want to try a good old fashioned hometown jeweler, give Joseph's a try. Make sure you have the length measurements and weight of each item beforehand, otherwise it will be your word against their's and you will have no recourse. You have to protect yourself. We spoke with Anna (my amazing salesperson) and she did not hesitate to help me find something else. When she showed me a beautiful pair of diamond stud earrings I was immediately in love. Went in today to find a perfect gift for my sister in law. Staff was very accommodating without being pushy. Showed me a few options, laid them out for me to study. Answered all my questions with a smile. Told me to the best of their knowledge where stones were sourced from. Best care for each kind. I chose a Ruby and diamond necklace. It's not about the price it's about the principal. These jewelers have none. I've used Joseph's Jewelry in the pass and they were neutral...not good not bad..... they just did the job for a place in town. This last experience was BAD and if you are a review type of person, trust me when I tell you go somewhere else. There are a ton of stores further up on Federal Highway. Stared as a resize on a ring, they convinced me to thicken the band and resize at the same time, MUCH more money, but was worth it. They did an okay job. My problem is the LACK OF HONESTY that followed. Ring ended up being a bit large for fiancé, so she went and told them what happened, literally days after I had the work performed. She was told that they'd either charge her cost or see if they can completely squash the bill, since it was just repaired, but when she went in she was charged full price, no discount no anything.....and to boot they also overcharged her to replace a simple watch battery....first shady act. Now third visit, same ring, because ring was not properly sized it now came out too tight. Was told no problem, bring it back in, we want it to be perfect, we'll take care of it. Upon bringing the ring back the owner decided to actually charge me MORE then what the original quoted price was! What a joke. No on the broch, no discount, no nothing, and now they increase the cost......You can literally get this done at most jewelry's for $30-$50 and here they are charging $68?! I Don't think so. When I questioned the owner who likes to talk over people, he had the nerve to talk to me about having to pay employees and overhead costs; meanwhile the parking lot is filled with Range Rovers and Corvettes. Again, I have no problem paying for services rendered, but don't have lying employees making statements and not honoring them.....but that's typical in this industry....basically the same breed as greasy used car sales men. I will never go back to Joseph's Jewelry and I suggest you take your business up the road to another jeweler as well. If I could give a rating of less than zero I would. read more

My husband brought my ring there to be cleaned and they broke it and told us that we would need to pay to have it fixed. The broken opal pieces were just shoved back in and given back to us. Plus, my husband still paid for the cleaning! I spoke to the manager and was not helpful. He said that we would have to pay for something they broke. Well I'm glad some poor soul had a good experience here because mine was not the same. He had a $780.00 item and I offered a whopping $30.00 less, the owner said no which is "OK" but then the owner gets "PERSONAL", degrading my livelihood, other customers present in the store, with no regard to the residual value of a potential "regular" customer that spends his money to keep his fine jewelery like Rolex, Cartier, lots of diamonds of a 30 year marriage, in good working order and looking good. It was just like in the movie "Pretty Woman" when she was looking for a dress with "Carte Blanch" spending ability and they mocked her. I'm not so sure about how intelligent this fellow is. If you don't mind paying "FULL LIST" price for your purchases instead of just a slight bit of consideration, then knock yourself out. I hope my experience speaks volumes about this place, and buyers do their homework before paying more than they should. I found similar items for less, not far down the road in Stuart. Shop around, you may save a few bucks. I used to use this store quite frequently. A few years ago, I took two of my wife's very good and expensive watches there for new batteries. The person who worked on them severely damaged both. The owner refused at first to acknowledge responsibility. He finally agreed to pay a fraction of the cost to repair the watches, but some cosmetic damage was not repairable. I went to Joseph's Jewelers to re-size and solder my wedding bands. I spoke with a sales person about what my needs were and he checked out the diamond. He got the owner to verify that my diamond was real. I was told that it was NOT a real diamond, that it was moissanite instead. My heart dropped out of my chest... I was VERY upset that another jeweler (not Joseph's) had sold us a FAKE diamond. I teared up immediately; it broke my heart to know that my fiance was played like a fool (it woke up the mama bear instinct). My blood pressure immediately sky rocketed; it was VERY upsetting news. The owner said that he would STILL do the work that I needed done with the rings but he wanted to "cross his t's and dot his i's" and made it clear that my diamond was not real. I took my ring to two other jewelers, for a second and third opinion, who verified that my diamond was, in fact, REAL. Joseph's Jewelers promote themselves to be "graduate gemologists" but they couldn't tell a real diamond from a fake...and they about gave me a heart attack in the process. I ended up going to Barton's Jewelers. I am very pleased with them, they assured me that my diamond was real. They did not try to sell me anything after the fact either, like Joseph's did. They had nothing to gain; they were simply helping me. Barton's used a diamond tester for my diamond, showed me the results multiple times, and they also examined it by eye. They said that even without the tester they could tell that my diamond was real. It was a pleasant experience and they have a very professional, cordial staff. My diamond is not big but it is a clean diamond. I am definitely suspicious about the intentions of Joseph's Jewelers. Did they tell me that my (real) diamond was fake so that they could switch it out for a moissanite and make money off of it? I mean, I would have NEVER known. OR... maybe they just have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. Either way, go somewhere else. Go to Barton's Jewelers across the street. They're amazing. read more
