I was a little hesitant about getting my cats shaved, but honestly... best decision ever!!…read more I'm having a baby any day now and knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the pet hair that comes with having two cats (and a dog). Who has time to vacuum every day with a newborn? My cats won't let me near them with a brush, so grooming them myself isn't an option. I looked up cat grooming on Yelp and Posh Pooches came up as being one of the most reasonably priced options. I emailed them for an appointment and got in the next day! Debra and Dave were soooo nice and I could tell they really cared about our cats. The best part is that the cats have been super affectionate since their cuts, like it was such a relief to get rid of all that fur. My female cat in particular is very skittish...I was expecting her to hide under our bathtub for a couple days after we got home (like she does when we take her to the vet) but she was rolling around on her back, being frisky and following us around all night. I thought this would be a one-time thing until I could start resuming my daily vacuuming routine again, but based on how much my cats seem to love their new haircuts, we'll definitely be back. (Just a reminder -- if you ever let your cat outdoors...which you shouldn't, but if you do...please don't ever shave them. Their fur protects them against the sun and elements. My cats are never let outside.)

Our dog Lucy has been a client of The Dog Wash since April 2022, with 9 pre-booked appointments…read morescheduled a year in advance. We have always been reliable and punctual with drop-off and pick-up times, paid the agreed-upon rate provided by the owner and we were offered the option to pay in cash to save on the taxes. The price increased from $77 to $85 in July 2024, a 10% increase for all customers, making my total cost of $100 per appointment which included a $15 tip for the staff. This payment arrangement remained in place until Lucy's last appointment on July 5, 2025. On Lucy's last grooming appointment, my daughter went to pick her up and was told that the grooming fee had increased to $97 from the usual $85. When my daughter questioned the significant increase, 14%, the owner defensively explained that the price for dogs weighing 17-25 pounds is $97, not $85, and since Lucy exceeds 17 pounds, that would be the new rate. However, my dog has not weighed 17 pounds since August 2022, so it took them 3 years to weigh her and realize she weighs 25 pounds? When I contacted The Dog Wash to ask why I wasn't given any prior notice when they discovered their mistake, Angela avoided addressing my question. She proceeded to tell me that the increase had already been applied during my last visit on May 31st, so why was I complaining now? I told her that I was not informed about the price increase during the last visit in May and only became aware of it during this appointment in (July). She became defensive, and started accusing me of yelling at her during our brief 1-minute conversation, which I was not, and abruptly ended the call. I attempted to call her back 2 more times to try to communicate with her, but despite my efforts to discuss the situation, she informed me she was cancelling all the remaining bookings and hung up on both calls. The total duration of the 3 calls I made to her was 2 minutes and 8 seconds. The owner of this establishment failed to acknowledge her mistake and showed disrespect, rudeness, and a lack of accountability. Despite paying $100 for each appointment, she accused me of being privileged and ungrateful for allegedly underpaying her. The error was on her end, not mine, and she was not losing any money; it was her staff missing out on their tip. In one year, we were increased 24%, $8 last year and $12 now, $20 and the owner didn't feel the need to call me to let me know the discrepancy. The negative reviews highlight the owner's lack of empathy and disregard for customers. Her mediocre customer service skills reflect poorly on her professionalism and emphasize the importance of basic customer service skills. I wish The Dog Wash all the best and hope Amgela work on improving customer service and communication with both existing and new clients going forward.

Our pup, who is normally visibly anxious and scared by grooming dryers and tools shocked me by instantly bonding with Natasha and happily exploring the facility with her. It was extremely clear that Natasha not only understood different dog breed requirements, but was passionate about celebrating each dog as an individual. This was the first time I had a groomer explain clearly what she was going to do and I left feeling my girl was in great hands. When I returned my pup didn't even notice me as she was happily prancing around and being loved-on by the staff. What a change from the dog who used to be sitting anxiously waiting for me. She was truly content. They also showed me videos of her during the groom smiling calmly during her blow dry (I was shocked) and beaming while sitting in the tub. She came back properly groomed with her topcoat fully in tact and her undercoat having had the old fluff *properly* removed. She went above and beyond to blend the old issues (obvious cut marks) and my girl looked beautiful. Now we are on the right track to her beautiful natural coat growing out as best it can. We received a wonderful, descriptive 'report card' that detailed what was done at the appointment and how she handled each step - no anxiety this time! She even took the time out of her evening to send me an email with her recommendations and links for products that would help us restore and repair her coat from the previous damage. We have definitely found our new groomer and it is such a relief to have my dog in good hands this time and going forward. THANK YOU!

I had no where to go and Natasha refused to allow me to sit in the waiting area for my dog to get groomed so she refused to groom. I even said that I would go for a walk towards the dollar store "she says no I'm making a decision not to groom". Natasha seemed very entitled in the way she spoke it was extremely disgusting. Waist of time! Highly suspect! Odd not to be able to sit in a waiting area. She clearly has no respect for anyone else's time. That's speaks volumes.

When I got back, my dog had one shave line and was sitting alone on the grooming shelf while Ellen took in a cat to cut its nails, a walk in during the appointment I booked a month in advance and paid $80 for! When I picked up my dog, I noticed he was scratching a lot so I decided to give him a quick rinse and he was covered in fleas. Ellen does not clean between walk ins and other pets so it's only a matter of time before something like this happens. I didn't want to upset Ellen (we all know how hard it is finding a dog groomer in Toronto) so I didn't mention the cat but, when I walked in an hour later (unexpectedly) Ellen was doing another 2 nail cutting walk ins!!! I don't know any business that charges $80 an hour- yes my dog was there for over an hour but minus the 3 walk ins I saw and some I might have missed, she makes it appear she's working on your dog for a while but she's actually making your pet wait. Very sneaky Ellen but I see you!! After the fleas, walk ins and a totally uneven hair cut, I will not be back.
