Lou, regarding your response to my wife's Pam's one star rating, both Pam and I understand that you profusely apologized. And I'm sure you spent some time on the phone with your insurance companies. You said that you would make it right, and return the house to it's original pristine condition. However, once you made a few calls, you let the insurance companies deal with it. We had asked you if the Junkman would consider renting the house back while the work was being done, so that we could proceed with the sale of our house and subsequent move. You said you would talk to your partner but the response came back, we're just gonna let the insurance company deal with it. So, at that point, you, the Junkman, washed your hands of this mess and left us holding the bag. Both Pam and I had to spend nearly 2 months fixing YOUR mess. We had to hire the contractors. We had to go to the house and oversee the repairs being completed. We had to rent our own house back and were not allowed to move back into it. We had to find a place to stay in town until the repairs were done. We had to put a large sum of money into an escrow account to ensure the job would be done in a timely manner. We had to come out of pocket nearly $30,000 to get this demolition of our home fixed, I had to deal with all of your insurance companies who kept passing the buck until I finally got to the right person. I had to continue to give them the same information, same photos, same documentation over and over and over again. We do appreciate that you filed an insurance claim right away and that you spoke to the insurance companies but after that, not one penny came out of your pocket. Not one conversation did we have after the insurance companies got involved. I think one of the things I'm most surprised about and it was evident when I showed up to the house is not one single one of your team members had the integrity to stop those workers who were damaging my home. That shows a complete lack of leadership and lack of training. For a company that's been in business that long and has had such good reviews I seriously would've expected much much better. But as soon as I showed up and made my voice heard, all the sudden everyone was more careful. The bottom line is although you apologized and spoke to your insurance companies, it was my wife Pam and I that did EVERYTHING!!! Your company's negligence nearly cost us the sale of our home.We were unable to move for nearly 2 months because of the mess you created. And we were left holding the bag, wondering if we would ever get all of our money back. The stress, anxiety,and angst that you and your team caused my family will never be forgotten. Your team's actions ruined the joy were supposed to have of selling our home and moving out of state. I want people to know this. You really need to make sure after all these years in business that this doesn't happen to anybody else ever again. The training and retraining of your team should be part of your business model. You shouldn't just hire somebody who says he has experience and take them at their word. I promise you I will never forget this horrible experience. Most recently, the guys came over to remove some old, unwanted furniture along with a couple other things that were taking up space. They are friendly, professional and efficient. These guys made it easy. It was easy to schedule service with them and easy the day of the junk removal. When we bought our house we inherited some of the junk that the hoarder before us had in our garage. We spent a solid year trying to figure out how we'd get rid of the stuff that Republic wouldn't take. It seemed like renting a truck and driving to the dump ourselves was going to be the only thing that would work. We kept putting it off since spending our day off hauling out junk sounded terrible. It finally occurred to me that there must be companies that pick up where Republic's service is lacking. This is how I found Junkman. I called on a Wednesday and had no problem getting a Saturday appointment. My window was only one hour in the morning. Awesome! I wouldn't be wasting four hours waiting. To make the appointment all they needed was my address and phone number. Very easy. The person I spoke with explained that the guys would arrive, look at our junk, and then let us know how much the haul away would cost. We would then let them know if we wanted them to take the junk. Again, super easy. Our guys called a little before our window of time that they were outside gate. I loved that they were early! They looked at everything and quoted us a very reasonable rate. We asked if they take check and they did. They loaded the truck up in less than five minutes and were on their way. This also meant that we were on our way with our day and not wasting time on this chore. I wish we had called these guys sooner. The service provided by Junkman in removing non-wanted items following my recent move was EXCELLENT in every respect. The gentle were professional, friendly and extremely capable in removing what was a rather large quantity and volume of items. They offered assistance and suggestions during the removal process, even checking with me regarding certain items that perhaps I might to keep (which I did for several). The process required a second day and the guys checked with their boss who was able to accommodate my request for an early morning return to finish the process from the previous afternoon. I would give the entire experience the highest rating possible. BTW, I had used Junkman a few years ago for a smaller removal project and that experience was also outstanding and resulted in my turning to Junkman for this recent move without looking into other possibilities. Called Junkman Friday night after 6:00 PM. I just uncrated 3 pallets of equipment and also received other items on pallets and needed all that removed quickly.
