You guys come across as thieves when you won't talk price then make an appointment to show up for a single item and then say you have a minimum and the discounts for booking online and military don't apply. My third time using Junk King. This time it was to remove a ton of tile and building materials left over from a renovation project. As usual they were quick to respond, offered a fair price, showed up on time, were very courteous and pleasant, and got the job done quickly. Would recommend Junk King to anyone. read more

First, let me say the two men who came to haul junk from my house were great and this review is not about them. The process of scheduling the appointment was quick and easy. I called in the morning and was told someone could come out the same day to give me an in-person quote. I naively assumed that the cost couldn't be more than $300 for the items I was having removed (which didn't include heavy furniture or appliances) they were running a little behind and called to communicate that, which was great. Here is the issue. When they arrived, I was quoted $428. He showed me the price sheet to confirm that he didn't just make that number up. Again, the two guys were great, but the company's prices are too high. They arrived at 1:10pm and two men were done hauling everything by 1:36pm. They were at my home for 26 MINUTES TOTAL and I was charged $428. That is not a fair price. Secondly, I chose this company because they supposedly accept donations. I took the time to separate items to be donated. When the guys arrived they told me the charity they partner with wasn't accepting shoes, clothing and other items because of covid. Why wasn't I told this when I scheduled the appointment? I didn't want to throw away items that were in good condition, so I ended up carrying the donation bags to my car (by myself) to take to Goodwill. Despite this, I was still charged $428. Highway robbery. I do not recommend this company and will never use them again. read more

Absolute horrendous customer service. The confirmation time for my appointment was 1-3pm. At 1:40 the driver calls to inform me he will be between 2:30 and 3:00. I said that was fine. At 2:40 he calls back and said he isn't coming. Doesn't know who will but it will be someone else and no idea when. I call the toll free number and their entire phone system goes down in the middle of the call. I get the owners name and number and he said they are late and I said it's more than that you have given me no information and I can't just sit around all day. He told me that if I don't like how they do business go somewhere else. Which is exactly what I am doing! When I called the 800 number to complain the guy said what do you expect them to do, they ran late. I said then why do you confirm appointments. I explained that the company I work for gives credits when they miss an appointment window and he laughed and said that's nice we don't. Horrible company. Rude management. read more

These guys are awesome. Full stop. I wish I had more junk for them to take. The 2 guys, (I didn't get their names, unfortunately) checked in with me several times, came bang on time, were nice to the cats ( who were doing their assigned jobs of supervising), and were quick and efficient. While I only had a wicker chair (destroyed by years of kittiies scratching); a 30+ year old coffee table from Sears; and a sad IKEA bookshelf with no shelves--I'm happy to see them gone. Service not up to par. As I type this I am 5 hours outside of my service window provided by the website. I requested a 10 to 1 p.m. Arrival and it is 6 p.m. and I have not been serviced nor have I received a phone call to explain why no one has arrived. I have called the number to the call center three separate times over the last 5 hours and have gotten various responses. Finally on my last call they explain that many people have been stood up and no one is answering the phone the drivers or the owner of the franchise. I would talk like to chaulk this up to a bad franchise but because Center has been very cagey at keeping me updated as well so... The irony is I called 1-800 got junk yesterday they came out on time or fast efficient and friendly. I would have had the out today but they were booked, so I decided to go with Junk King as they had appointments available. Now I see why... Do yourself a favor and go with 1-800 got junk they seem to be a better run operation. read more

This is a very good group. After giving the company advance photos of the 2 items and steps to travel for discarding them I was quoted at a very competitive price and that is even with a surprise $40 upcharge discrepancy that I wasn't informed of until the junk kings came to my house. Most competitors were asking for more than Junk King and I imagine the price would have been higher once they got to the door so I was left happy with Junk King beating most quotes. From the phone consult (Tuesday night) to the junk removal process (Wednesday morning) everyone at Junk King was pleasant, professional and prompt. After a quick google search I was able to get an idea of cost and book for the following morning in less than 5 minutes. The crew called when they were on their way and arrived right on time. The workers were professional, fast, courteous and called me when they were delayed by an earlier job, then called again when they were on the way to my location. I never leave reviews but wanted to do so because of the great service. I set up an appointment online a few weeks ago. It was quick and easy. Eric gave me a call this morning to let me know he was on the way--right on time! I had him pick up a bed, bed frame, desk, chairs, a vacuum, and some lamps. He took care of everything (even though I only listed about half of that stuff when I scheduled the appointment). And he had to take it down to his truck from the 11th floor! He also mentioned that they work with charities, so a lot of my stuff would go to a good use. That was good to hear--most of my stuff was perfectly fine, I just didn't want to pay to move it across the country. The best part was the customer service. I'm not sure which iteration of Junk King we used - but whichever branch we used was amazing. We were in Northern VA (if that helps) and the team was very timely and expedient. We had a few more items than we expected, but the times were all great and accommodating. They were in an out in a very short amount of time - they moved two big arm chairs, a bed, two bookshelves, and a few other items. They were personable and nice, and very professional. Nooooo. This was a very bad experience. The crew was scheduled for a window, did not show up, and the call center spent four hours trying to reach the DC team to see where they were. At the end of this process, the employee at the call center said that the team had disappeared and was unavailable. It appears that Junk King is a booking agent for independent contractors, and these contractors may or may not provide the service booked. I was stood up, but also given the runaround about being stood up, which was a complete waste of time. read more
