What a lifesaver!!! I've been trying to move out of my storage unit for months. Junk General saved me so much time and grief in doing this thankless job. They swooped in (exactly when they said they would) and went right to business. My storage unit was cleaned out faster than a blink of an eye. These guys hustle. The price was right and they took my usable things to the Salvation Army to donate them. What a total relief. Do NOT hesitate to use this company. I know I will be using them in the future. read more

I used Junk General for a clean up services at my house. The employee was quick to clean up and went out of his way to attend my needs and very friendly by the way. I have experienced other clean up services but they tend to just be quick and leave a mess behind but that was not the case with Junk General they clean up very well. I enjoyed using them and I will for sure be contacting them in the future. I also loved their prices. I encourage junk general as a clean up service! they support the environment. What more can you want? read more

I just have to tell you I had the best experience with your crew. They were polite and courteous and went above and beyond to help me clear the debris from my backyard patio. I just moved in and had boxes and junk, and things left from the previous home owners, they even raked the leaves up. I am just so happy, and the price was right! You really have two great employees, Omar and Marcus, polite courteous and with a big smile! Thank you again for your great service, you made someone very happy. ( glad to know you are here for the environment too!) read more

I was very pleased with my Junk General experience. I saw their add in the paper yesterday and used their website to book their service for later in the day. It was a very easy process. Richard and Fresno showed up on time, gave me an estimate that was less than I thought it would be, and swept up when they were done. read more

I used junk general for the very first time today to haul away a sofa of mine after seeing them on yelp. These guys were awesome! First they gave me a really great rate. I was told they would give me a time window from 3PM to 5PM for arrival. Well, they called me at 12:30 to say they were running way ahead of schedule and they can come by at 1PM!! AWESOME!! 3 guys came over at 1PM and they were gone at 1:15 with my crappy old sofa! I highly recommend using junk general. They are an independently owned business which is the type of business we need to support! ! read more

We closed our business in San Francisco a few weeks ago and had a bunch of shelves, tables and such that were too worn to sell. After trying to give the stuff away with Craigslist, we called Junk General to get it gone. They showed up on time. They were careful of the walls. They were fast. They even helped load some stuff I wanted to keep into my truck for me. If it matters to you, the lead clearly spoke perfect English. He spoke in Spanish to his assistant, but the assistant spoke decent English, too. They charge by volume, and the broke down large pieces before loading them onto their truck. I hope to never require junk removal services again, but if I do, I'll call Junk General. read more

Extremely frustrating experience waiting for them to show up to make a bid. I was given a 12-2 pm window, and I had to call them at 1:50 to ask what was happening. They told me they would be at my house in 45 minutes (i.e., 45 minutes late), and then an hour and fifteen minutes later, they still had not shown up. I had to call them again, to ask what was happening, and was told they didn't know when they'd make it. They said they were stuck in traffic, but I kind of find it hard to believe, for that long. The really insulting and unprofessional part of this is that they never called me to let me know they would be late. I'm sure they're great (based on reviews) once they get your business. But according to an Angie's List review and my experience, they don't put much effort into making it to their "bidding" appointments. read more

As with others...I booked online and scheduled an appt. Very efficient online booking, with followup confirmation email etc. However, the crew didn't show during the 2 hour window, and when I called, was told they were in San Fran...nowhere near my home (Tri-Valley). However, I was told that I could be given a dedicated appt. for the next day (today), so I wouldn't have to wait through the 2 hour window again. Today was also a no show. Again, I called, and dealt with a very pleasant dispatch who, again, told me that the crew was in San Francisco, and could be here in 60 minutes. I cancelled. I can't get back the two hours from yesterday, and can't afford to lose another 3 hours today. Not a great way to do business. read more

If you want to wait two hours past scheduled appointment time and be forced to move your own furniture then definitely pick this company. Not only did we have to call the company to find out when they were coming but for them to not come with more than one person to move an entire couch is ridiculous. In addition, the rudeness and dismissive response from the owner after asking what happened and why this was the received service was ridiculous. No apology, no explanation. Nothing. Do yourself a favor and look into another company. read more

so I didn't realize that there was service charge however they were so freaking nice about it I would definitely use them again. SHOUT OUT TO RICHARD!!!! read more

Customer service is the first step towards a wonderful experience with a company and the Junk General understands this concept. This company personally followed up with me after having the initial quote for my requested service. The owner is honest and genuinely cares about his company and the services they offer. Knowing that they care about their reputation and their performance is something that made going with them an easy decision. read more

"Was very pleased with Junk General. Richard and his team arrived at the time they said, were friendly, and most of all, competitively priced. I would not hesitate using them again or referring my them to my friends and family. read more

Two guys and a truck arrived 30 min into the 2 hour window. They didn't call ahead of time but I was home all afternoon so not a big deal. I pointed to what needed pick up, the gave me a price, it seemed right so they got to work. 15 minutes later the mess on the side of my house was gone and I'm much happier. The truck wasn't as shiny as the competition but they did a great job at a fair price. read more

Awesome. We had a big load of material to be hauled, and they did it fast and for a fair price. The communication and turnaround from estimate to completion was great. An all-around easy, no-hassle experience. And they're a green company, which is an added bonus, especially when it comes to hauling and disposal. read more

I made an appointment on-line the night before I needed the Junk General to come out and take away a bunch of old cardboard boxes, dirt, rocks and general junk. They were prompt ( and called when they were on their way), had the truck loaded in like 20 minutes and the price was all right and so worth every cent. They were polite and very professional. My only criticism was that they didn't sweep up the area(s) after wards like the Junk King does. However I will definitely hire the Junk General again, and again! read more

These guys did a good job, cleared it all out pretty fast, but they were over an hour late, which really messed up my schedule, and did not call to tell me--I had to call them. They said they would be there in 15 minutes and it turned out to be 45. It cost more than I expected, but its hard to tell how much of the truck your stuff will take up-its all priced based on volume. It seemed expensive for what they took, but once they were there, they got it done fast. read more

These guys are awesome! Not only are they punctual and good about sorting through the junk, but their efficiency was literally beautiful. My roommate and I just watched in awe as they used great teamwork to haul away an entire garage of junk in 17 minutes flat. Really, really impressive. read more

Most highly motivated people hauling junk I have ever seen! I hired these guys to do a lot clear out. They brought a bobcat took a some dirt and then hauled away a bunch of junk people had illegally dumped at one of my client's properties. They got the job done! They have a great online booking system. Great to see local companies doing great work. Keep up the good work. read more

i found junk general through yelp and boy oh boy they are so very efficient and right on time. i made an appointment thru their website at around 1pm and by 5pm the same day they were right on my door. confirmation thru email and they called before they arrived. they gave me an estimate before they started hauling our stuff. they gave me a discount since i made appointment in their website and not only that, they cleaned our driveway too. read more

I needed to move 2 mattresses last May. Last minute deal. Short on dough. Called lots of places. They all sucked, charged unreasonable rates, and didn't care. These guys had reasonable rates. They came. They did the job. They were quick. They were cool. That was it! Doesn't get better than that. I highly recommend you use these guys if you've got stuff to move. Don't bother with 1-800-GOT-JUNK. That particular company is big, colorful, and doesn't care. These guys are small, awesome, and better. I don't normally bother writing reviews. But I feel, in some larger karmic sense, these guys deserve more success for how they handled my business. So long as they keep up the service, I hope more and more success comes to them. Love em. read more

I had a mountain of dirt that would have taken 2 full pickup trucks to haul off. Omar took it in a large container. He was very fast to call me back, pickup was the next day, fast work, and they cleaned up nicely afterwards. The price he gave me was fantastic as well, my regular hauling guy could not match his price. I will use Omar and Junk General again. read more

Omar and his men were there at 8 am to accommodate me. We had to schedule a second day and he moved things around to get us in the very next day. They are very efficient and organized and knew exactly how to get the job done. I would recommend them to anyone who has a huge clean to get done. read more

Great guys, showed up on time and took all of our junk from our garden at great price. Highly recommend!

Junk General worked really well for me on all fronts. I sent an email inquiry late and they got back to me right away. The quote was reasonable. I was able to set a time up the next day. They showed up in the time window they said they would, confirmed the price before they did anything, and then wrapped the job up in about fifteen minutes. It went really well. read more

After viewing yelp and saw that Junk General had a high customer rating, I immediately gave Junk General a call. I spoke with Omar, who was very pleasant to speak with over the phone. He offered to come by my house at 2:00pm to give me an estimate, and I also inquired, if I was satisfy with the price would he be able to take the stuff that day, his response was yes. Afterwards we exchange information, and I gave him two contact numbers he can reach me at. Twenty-five minutes after one, my mother and I decided to make sure all the junk we need him to take were organized and ready just in case we decided to accept the offer. Now its five minutes after two and no show, which I wasn't bother since things happen people run a little late here and there. Now its 2:30pm no call and no show, so I decided to give Omar a call to follow up, no answer. I Left a brief message, being completely nice and professional and left my two contact numbers again. NOW its 5:00pm, NO CALL, NO SHOW. Irritated, but not mad I decided to call another junk hauling company Rob's Junk Removal and Hauling, spoke with Rob who was very pleasant to speak with over the phone as well, we exchange information and set an appointment to pick up my junk the next day at 8 in the morning. A little skeptical, since my first experience with Junk General didn't go so well. WELL let me tell you, not only did Rob show up on time, he had all my items out within 45min AND his price was really reasonable. He earned not only a really good tip, but our service again for over the next month. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN JUNK GENERAL, but lack of communications and bad customer service, Rob's Junk Removal and Hauling's company got my service for the next month. So to those who is really thinking about going with Junk General's company for hauling your junk, I say please please read all the 1 star and 2 star review and you see they too shared the same dissapointment I did. Then again you might be the lucky one, and he actually SHOWS UP!!! GOOD LUCK read more

We were referred to the Junk General by brother's girlfriend who knows Omar. He is always reliable, dropping off and picking up dumpsters when he says that he will. They are always clean and can hold a lot. I like how there are no separate bins for different materials which makes it the process all the more easier and gives us piece of mind knowing that he recycles and donates as much as possible, working with local recyclers and charities. After visiting his site, which is equally cool, letting you make appointments, keeping you on file via your own profile, and doing beach clean-ups, using salvaged paper instead of new paper, salvaging old furniture to donate and live off of, yard and brush clean-ups, and being the first company to run on alternative fuels even before Allied Waste did so among other things. He is truly a good example of what a junk holling company should be. So, for full service and self service junk removal at competitive prices with friendly, professional service, the Junk General cannot be beat. Keep up the good work Omar and crew.! read more
