These guys are always super helpful and engaged. I've always been able to find what I need and the store is always well stocked, clean, and organized. I've never seen an animal in less than stellar condition, and every animal I've taken home is doing very well.

Female Leachie Purchased from Jungle bobs, 10/10 would recommend

Great store, excellent customer service, great animals, always well stocked with just about anything and everything to care for your reptiles. The staff is always willing to help and answer any questions I have, I just can't say enough good about JBRW!! Pictured is one of my female Leachies I bought from JBRW

Our uromastyx is doing great and he loves his new deco. That all at Jungle Bob's.

So it is over a year later and we keep coming back. We now have over 8 animals from Bob's and they are all healthy and thriving.

Where Genovese Drugs had fulfilled the needs of humans, Pet Supplies has fulfilled the needs of their pets. This pet store features aisles of dog, cat, and pets essentials, live fish, small animals, and reptiles, a grooming salon, and more. My Dad and step-mom have been here many times for the needs of Shane, the family labradoodle. On some of their visits, they have picked up Blue Buffalo and used the grooming salon to trim his fur. When my Dad and step-mom are away, Shane is uncomfortable around strangers. During the recent grooming session, Shane was acting up causing it to end early. Their groomers were professional and refused to charge my Dad and step-mom for their time. The first of my three visits here was with my dad to pick up Blue Baffalo for Shane. After this visit my Dad told me about the cute kittens up for adoption. This is what brought me here two more times. On my second visit the kittens were adopted. On my third visit here, when I walked inside then made a right and proceeded past the front registers, my heart melted when I saw the black kitten in the cage. It was so tempting for me to walk out of here adopting the kitten. Unfortunately, I live approximately 3,000 miles away. This is a pet friendly store where customers can walk around with their dog. I walked around here with my step-mom and Shane. Shane even befriended a feret up front. From the two times that stopped by here, I find it kind of neat that there is a superstore appearance at the same time there is a mom and pop vibe. The employees here were friendly. One of the women working in the back asked to say "hi" to Shane. The store is an enjoyable place to browse. I enjoyed looking at the kittens for adoption, the live fish, reptiles, and small animals. I also enjoyed watching the dog explore a store that was the equivalent to me exploring Toys R Us when I was a child. Seeing him look at the aisle of bones was like seeing me walk through an aisle of Hot Wheel cars during my childhood. As far as value, the price is most likely going to be higher than the chain discounter. However, there is the value of the Community having a mom and pop pets superstore where decisions are made locally instead of at some faraway corporate office. The mom and pop running Pets Supplies Plus Lake Ronkonkoma are obviously doing something right since they have been in business since 2010 and I am the latest of several Yelpers giving them Four Stars.

If you are reading this, your search for dog training stops here. This is the place you need and…read morethey will change your life! This sounds a little over the top BUT I'm not lying. I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. Hikes, traveling, morning walks, trips to the store, brewery visits, long car rides out of state... you name it. I would do it all over again if I had to without a question. So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope this helps you make your decision to having a better relationship with your pup and enjoying life with them every step of the way.

I am SO thankful for Sherry at Maximum K9. I don't know if I can put into words how helpful she has…read morebeen in training our Stormie. Stormie is a rescue who we adopted in 2019 and underwent 2 surgeries in 2021 due to bilateral CCL surgery. She was cooped up for an extended amount of time during recovery. We were unable to take her outside without her reacting to other dogs and sometimes even people. Stormie even gave us difficulty when we wanted to go for a short walk. It was so frustrating and difficult taking her out in public that we needed help. We have heard of Maximum K9 from many of our friends and even the great reviews I've seen on dog groups and online. I called to inquire about the types of training (group vs. individual) and it was clear that we needed to take private lessons. We signed up for a package of 6 lessons with Sherry that were one hour long for 6 consecutive weeks. Our first day, Sherry got to know about Stormie's behaviors - positive and negative, what we were having difficulty with and what our goals were. Sherry worked with us each week when training Stormie (and me) on how to modify or progress a skill. We learned how to heel, which we never were taught from another trainer elsewhere, and the importance of heel. We were given homework on what to practice from the training sessions to continue our work outside of the facility. Sherry helped Stormie become less dog reactive in a safe manner at Maximum K9. Stormie was slowly exposed to the board and train dogs in the facility that had various levels of size and temperament. Each week, Stormie learned how to follow her commands and not react to different dogs. With Sherry's consistent training, Stormie was able to heel with me in a circle with other dogs and sit next to them without any reaction at all. I cannot find the words to thank Sherry for helping Stormie and myself. I came into Maximum K9 with Stormie trying to pull my arm off and reacting to dogs in the lobby to now leaving with my arm back intact and her in a nice heel. I will refer all my dog lovers and friends to Maximum K9 and Sherry going forward! Thank you again!

As a Yelp Elite reviewer, I NEVER play the "I'm Yelp Elite" card to get better service or better…read moreprices or anything. I just want to be treated like a normal customer. I always try to temper my reviews because I understand that my opinion is valued. But when service or products go in an unexpected direction, I can't help tell the truth with fairness and accuracy. Now, the 1 star review for the Petsmart on Route 112 in Port Jeff Station. 2 weeks ago our fur babies Shelly and Jax the Chihuahuas need to have their nails trimmed. Having seen the sign outside the Port Jeff Petsmart advertising $10 nail trims, we brought them over. Meeting up with Amy, she did a good job in trimming them down and them grinding them to a smooth finish.(Thus the 1 star) We were charged $40 for the 2 dogs only to find out it was an additional $10 per dog to use the grinder. Ok, Should has asked in the beginning...my bad. We made an appointment to have them groomed 2 weeks later for a Saturday at 9am and received an appointment card showing the date and time. We arrived at 8:55 for our 9 am appointment on the designated day, Amy said "My bad, the appointment was for 11 and to come back at 11, bye" despite the card showing 9 am as the appointment time. She then took the card and changed the 9 to 11. My wife stunned, said we could not come back at 11 since we already had plans for the day and asked for the manager's name and was told she wouldn't be in until 11. My wife called back and spoke to Amanda who said in a rude tone, "What do you want me to do about it?" Obviously, she has no manager skills. So my wife hung up. We made an appoint at another groomer in the meantime and will not return to Petsmart in Port Jefferson despite its very convenient location. I've read other bad grooming reviews for this store, so I see that I'm not too far from accurate. Bottom line, take your grooming elsewhere. This staff is pathetic.

I remember being fascinated by the plumbing setup in that store. There was basically a network of plumbing under your feet. I think the new store is by appointment only and I've been there a few times. It's worth the phone call and personal attention. Call to confirm this though, I am not 100% sure. I consider myself well-versed in the hobby but that doesn't mean I don't need a hand from time-to-time and it certainly doesn't mean I know everything. Some of my coral wasn't looking so good and I just wanted someone to take a look and offer their opinion. Downs did just that. I called Downs at noon on a Friday and they were booked for the day but he still stopped by at the end of the day to help out. I figured I wouldn't see anyone for at least a few days, never mind same-day. He was concerned that if we waited to long I might lose a few pieces and he didn't want that to happen. Downs is a really good guy. Doesn't try to shove products down your throat or his methods. This hobby definitely isn't a one-size-fits-all and he understands that. While I don't think he agreed with all of my methods, he considers them and works around them. While I enjoy doing my own water-changes and maintaining my own tank, I will definitely have Downs by once a month just to look things over. One other important thing to mention and this may or may not be important to most people. With babies and kids in the house, we take our shoes off. As soon as Downs walked in, he took his shoes off before I even had to ask. Now imagine having them service your tank(s)? Drop-clothes, plastic, I am sure they are meticulous.
