We are new in the area and thought we would try June's. What a rude welcome. I need to eat gluten free and asked very nicely if they had any gluten free options. The cook very loudly and curtly said "no", with a look of disdain on her face. I think they've forgotten they're in the service industry and even if they can't meet my needs a little kindness goes a long way. This can be a busy little place, depending on when you go. They service breakfast til 11am, and you can get a half size breakfast, which might not be a bad idea since they're portions are pretty big. This was a fun place. They were close to closing so there were very few people in the place with us. The waitress was welcoming and funny. She joked with us and made us feel at home. The kid was excited to find a corn dog on the menu and the waitress was excited to find a kid excited about a corn dog. I had a double cheese burger and wife had a Club. We all shared a regular and seasoned fries. Everything was really good. And the decor was fun!! This was a surprisingly great place in an out of the way location. I've always passed this place coming up to my grandparents house in Heber when I was younger. My friend and I decided to ride up to Heber last week to have lunch. The reviews on this place are very good, so we decided to make this our destination. Upon walking in, we were immediately seating and waited on. It's small on the inside, and I think there were 8-10 tables, one of which was open. They must have been at the end of their morning breakfast rush, because most of the tables cleared while we were there. I ordered the cheeseburger and onion rings. The cheeseburger came with lettuce, onions and tomato. It was very good. The onion rings were cooked just right and the batter was crisp on the outside. I thought it was the perfect sized lunch. It filled me up, but I wasn't stuffed afterwards, which was good, cause a food coma half way back to the valley wouldn't have been good. My friend asked the server what her favorite thing to eat was and she recommended a breakfast burrito. He took her advice and ordered that and said that it was very good. It looked like a good sized burrito that would fill you up, but wasn't over the top. I will have to come up for breakfast next time and try it. read more

We stopped at June's today for lunch and were very disappointed to see a sign on the door, advising patrons to enter at their own risk, as the staff were not wearing masks. My husband is a survivor of a previous pandemic -- polio -- and is now battling its long term effects. Perhaps we are more concerned than average, but the science is very clear that masking will cut the spread of COVID-19 and I think it is a pretty small sacrifice to make. This is a cute diner in an area that sorely needs commerce. June's like most other restaurants in the area is only open for breakfast and lunch. My friend had the Taco Burger and loved it! I had the chicken strips and I thought they were just so-so. Probably were frozen but still edible/okay. Will definitely return when I'm back in the area visiting my friend. I love when I find a little local joint that serves breakfast tell 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I had been traveling for 4 days and just really wanted a home cooked breakfast and Junes delivered just that. The Chorizo and egg were just as I would have made them. Home fries were delicious. Great coffee! the decor inside was yard sticks from all over very cool. Service was great and the food was hot. Biscuits and gravy were very good. I've been here maybe 7-8 times, a few of those times we've brought the kids with us. Its always good. We always get breakfast, the service is always nice and I love the local feel of it. I'd also like to say that they are really great with the kids, and we have 4, so they normally have to sit at a table next to us and not all together and the wait staff has always been considerate and cool with the kids. I read some of the previous reviews, I don't know about lunch but I have to wonder how snarky I would personally have to be to be treated rudely. Again this is a local place, that much I am sure is obvious, the complaints I've seen seem small in comparison that I have eaten at EVERY place in Heber and Overgaard and would count June's as one of the two best places and hands down the best breakfast place in the area. I know that with limited choices that might not mean as much, but at this point if we want to have breakfast out while were up north, we will be eating at June's. read more

Junes has very good soft serve ice cream. We used to visit after our supper for ice cream dessert. It seemed like the whole town was there. No more since they close at 3pm. I've been going to June's for breakfast for years and it is always delicious. I usually get their Homemade Chili Omelette. It is epic! The place is very clean with nice wood paneling and a nice yard stick collection. I can't help but laugh at the comment about one waitress being nice and the other being a bitch. It is true that the older waitress seem really moody and snappy but I don't care. This place is great! read more

Boyfriend and I stopped here on the way back from a camping trip at Fool Hollow Lake. Loved the decor of this teeny tiny resurant - wooden yard sticks all over the walls. :) The waitress (didn't catch her name, darn) was AWESOME. If she wasn't June or an owner she was a very dedicated employee! Boyfriend got the one large pancake and turkley sausage which he said was great. I got the two eggs, bacon and country fries with a biscuit as my bread. The waitress offered me a side of gravy which I of course accepted. All of it was great- I should have gotten the half size. Total for both of us and ours coffee/soda was barely $20. Will be back whenever we are in the area again. read more

Stopped in with my family today, we all ordered the hamburger/french fry special. Waitress was surely, far from friendly....seemed very odd for a small town diner. Her curtness was spread out amongst all the customers, so at least it wasn't personal! Normally when you go to a small town diner, you see friendly interaction - at least between the locals and staff - not here, not at all. Eating area was clean, bathroom was "okay". Hamburgers were good, but the french fries were half orders...very small quantity. Odd, normally in such diners you get big servings, good conversation..etc.. In a very small town with at least 4 diners that I saw driving through, June's was a pretty good choice. We stopped here for a quick lunch and regroup while in the Heber area camping. I honestly just wanted a piece of pie and a good cup of coffee, but ended up getting a half basket (2) chicken tenders and fries as well. My husband got their Reuben special and I thought that was really fresh with a lot of flavor. I hesitate to review chicken tenders, but they were pretty delicious and its worth a mention. The coffee was standard diner coffee. It smelled very burned and when I tasted it it was on the higher-end of the scale for diner coffees (not too watery, not too burned-tasting). Their glass coffee mugs are super cute and unique here. I was pretty disappointed with the pie here... the fillings were canned and we asked the waitress if we could have our pies heated up and they came out cold still. The service here was definitely lacking as we had to ask for water and coffee refills as well as forks/napkins. Overall the food was worth the stop but be sure to allot extra time in case they are busy and the service is slow. read more

Came across this gem by accident as we were traveling. Hungry at lunch it appeared and Yelp had good reviews. The little diner is charming wth great home cooked food. The place is filled with hundreds of yardsticks customers have donated from all over the country advertising everything! Only reason I don't give 5 stars is it was cold out and we had to wait outside to be let in and there were tables available. One of the few restaurants in heber/overgaard area. Went there for lunch with 2 others. I don't know if our server, Ann(?) was new but she wasn't very attentive. Several examples we got our food but we had to go up to the counter to ask for roll ups. She didn't offer any sauce and we had fries. She didn't offer us refills until we were about to leave. Food was just ok. My chicken strips and fries was nothing to praise. The kitchen and front of the house had confusion on what the daily special was. Ann told us it was a chimichanga, but you can hear the cook telling her that the special a burger of some sort. This was an hr from closing. Did no one else order the special that day?! Super friendly place with really good, classic breakfast food. This is not fancy, and it's not big, but it was a great place to catch breakfast while on vacation. In our party of four we had: corned beef hash (really good) with over easy eggs (really good), pancake (huge and super tasty), biscuits and gravy(half order, also huge, gravy could have head more flavor and the sausage pieces were small and sparse), Spanish omelette( really good, lots of green chiles), and a one egg with bacon breakfast (solid). My boyfriend always tells me how great this place is. It was part of his childhood. We drove from Glendale Az , 2 hours and 30 mins for their breakfast. Unfortunately breakfast ends at 11, so we settled for lunch. We decided to try out their burgers. When the burgers came out, they place each burger with the wrong sides. My boyfriends burger was missing a burger patty and bacon. My burger was missing the jalapeños and came with bacon, I did not request. The waitress took back both burgers and then we waited an additional 10 minutes for our food. Once our burgers arrived my boyfriends burger only had one strip of bacon and the two strips from my burger were removed. I had higher expectations. The craftsmanship of the food was not taken into consideration and was not a very well grade. I really hope the owner of this restaurant can take my comments into consideration to improve the overall customer satisfaction of their establishment. read more

I've been coming here since I was a baby! It's such a cute cafe right in the middle of town. It's homey and comfy. The staff makes you feel like family. Breakfast is the best. The biscuits are homemade buttermilk. Omelets are loaded with the fillings. Of course, you have to get coffee. The burgers at lunch are always great. The meatloaf is my favorite. They have different specials each day. Make sure to get dessert, too; they make fruit pies from scratch and serve them warm with ice cream. Overall, June's is my favorite restaurant. I love going down there and eating and spending time with the regulars that are always there. On the weekends, expect a wait since it's a local favorite. But it's so worth it! read more
