Two month after my knee replacement surgery, I was pretty discouraged. My home PT was not very rigorous or productive, and I was way behind my goals for flexion and distention. I was becoming resigned to the fact that my particular operation was not going to be a great success. This was when I began my visits to JumpStart. I had injured my shoulder in a biking accident a few years before this, and had gone to another sports therapy chain in Newton. I was not impressed with the care I received there at the time, nor with the long-term results. So I was looking for a different place - a place that delivered on their promises and slogans, and place that might be able to restore the mobility and ease my pain in my leg. My daughter had gone to JumpStart in Natick for sports injuries, and she recommended the company enthusiastically. JumpStart had recently opened a facility in Newton, so I signed up. It is hard to describe the degree of difference the staff at JumpStart Newton made in my knee and leg function, and really in my life. I was immediately delivered into the care of expert therapists who set ambitious goals with me, and then set about achieving those goals in the fastest time possible. My program was aggressive but realistic, designed with my capabilities in mind but driven to expand those capabilities as we progressed. I had a primary therapist assigned to my case, but I also saw a number of other therapists, and every one was thoroughly expert. In my previous experience with the other company, I was often seen by non-professional staff who were administering a routine set of exercises. It felt like therapy-in-a-can. At JumpStart, if I was attended by a student therapist, he or she was closely supervised, and my programs were designed specifically for me. I've never done the same set of exercises twice at JumpStart, and new workouts were introduced as my status changed and my capabilities expanded. Through the care and skill of the personnel at JumpStart Newton, I was able to rehabilitate my knee (and my whole right side) to a point much greater than prior to my operation. Jumpstart is absolutely wonderful! I've been going for about 6 months now as I'm recovering from a knee injury, and I always have a great experience. The atmosphere is fun and serious at the same time. The exercises I'm given are challenging but my physical therapist always motivates me through them with encouraging words or a joke or two along the way. The therapists have created a welcoming environment that is extremely supportive, energetic and optimistic. Through out my experience here, I can honestly say I've never left jumpstart feeling defeated, unhappy or frustrated. As I'm nearing the end of my therapy sessions, it's incredible to see how much stronger I've become and it's all thanks to the amazing people at Jumpstart. I tore my ACL, LCL, and Meniscus while playing soccer and started going to Jumpstart Physical Therapy shortly before my surgery up until the point where i was cleared by my surgeon to play again (10 months). Dan and his staff were a pleasure to work with and they always presented me with a smile and great attitude that soon rubbed off on me. I mostly worked with Janey and I can't thank her enough. I set a goal for myself to get back on the soccer field ASAP and she truly helped me achieve my goal every step of the way. Our 9-year old son has been working with Kristen and Kate at the Newton location to help increase strength and improve motor planning. This has been very successful, and we can't say enough about how helpful and positive an experience this has been. They know their business, and work very well with children by making the therapy into a fun and challenging game. We see smiles all around when our son accomplishes a new task or does challenges faster. Along with standard therapies, they ask our son what he wants to work on in order to increase his skills and confidence (e.g. in gym class). My son had a periacetabular osteotomy of his hip and Childrens Hospital Boston recommended Jumpstart as their number one choice for rehab, and we know why! My teenage son went to Jumpstart for many months as the required rehab is long. They were flexible with his school schedule and bent over backwards to assure he was seen even around the holidays. His therapists were absolutely fabulous, professional, resourceful, knowledgeable and had great communication skills that made Mike comfortable and confident. Before you know it my son was pitching hitting and running the bases again. He was pain and symptom free and his range of motion was awesome. My entire family have gone to Ryan Jones for years at Norwood location. Most of my children have been or are current collage athletes and we were told by area doctors (specialists) years ago to see Ryan Jones as there is no one better. These doctors also routinely deal with professional athletes and said Ryan is the best. My kids have seen their share of sports related injuries from HS through college and from day one under Ryans care they responded incredibly well. I have used the services of Jumpstart both in anticipation of surgery to build up fitness toward later recovery and in the aftermath to recover mobility and build strength. My PT Meg was incredibly knowledgeable, skilled,motivating, enjoyable to spend time with, and did not let me slack off even when I wanted to take it easy. On days when I could not schedule with Meg, I found the other PT's that I worked with also very knowledgeable, skilled and friendly, and fully aware of my particular case needs. The front desk staff was also friendly and helpful, making the whole experience pleasant. Applying her extensive anatomy/PT knowledge and skills, Kristen worked tirelessly to get me back on my feet. I have had other physical therapists so when Kristen moved to the Newton office, I was happy to follow her there even though I had a longer drive and had to pass by the main office in Natick. No one else compares with Kristen. She is professional but down-to-earth with a great personality. I love her approach that is firm yet very respectful. I have been going to JumpStart PT for over six years. As a 49 year old male who thinks he can still run like a 25 year old and lift and train like an 18 year old, I do frequent the staff at Jumpstart in Natick as well as Newton. For many years I have had lower back and hamstring issues and usually after 3-5 treatments, I am back to thinking I am a 25 years young. Both of my sons have been treated by Jump Start PT, both have had sports injuries. Recently the staff at Jump Start treated my youngest son for a leg injury which was pretty painful for him. They treated him with a combination of message, ice and then heat as the injury began to heal until his pain was gone and he healed. Again they took the time not only to treat his injusry but also educate him/me on methods to avoid his type of injury via strength training and the right time/ways to apply ice and/or heat techniques. We have been going to Jumpstart for over 6 years for our now 8-year old daughter. We have had only two therapists in that time and the consistency has been great for her. I can't say enough about her current PT, Liana. She makes PT fun for my daughter, is always friendly and cheerful, and is able to coax her into working hard (even on her most stubborn days). I've been bringing my daughter here for over two years and the staff is great! Her therapist is always patient with my moody toddler and gives me great ideas on how to incorporate exercises with her routines at home. We've seen amazing progress with my daughters ongoing issues and knows it's in big part from the great therapy she's receiving! We have been to other physical therapy facilities and left with a very impersonal, clinical feeling.
