It was my good fortune to encounter him as the on-call doctor the day after bone spur surgery last year. My own surgeon had refused to take my call. Dr. Bergman was so helpful, speaking with me in a kind, unhurried manner and addressing all my concerns with no apparent time constraint--on a Friday night no less. I felt as all patients should feel (especially post-op): respectfully heard and cared for. He addressed my pain issue and spoke to how he works with his patients who have had similar surgeries--when he recommends starting PT, etc. Months later, I chose to become one of his patients. Since then, Dr. Bergman has continued to treat me with professionalism and his trademark kindness. There is nothing phony about him. He meets me at eye level, sitting face-to-face as we discuss my progress following a second ankle surgery that he performed. He listens. Intently. He engages. Openly and honestly. He truly cares. Dr. Daren Bergman is in a class of his own at Orthopedics New England. And I am grateful to be one of his "students." Thank you, Dr. Bergman. You don't even realize how good you are. Years later as I need another appointment I checked their website and they are still ALL male doctors and just a handful of women physician assistants. You cannot tell me that is not deliberate when they have 10+ doctors. Appalling. Is it still 1940?? I'll be going somewhere else. Update: The office responded insisting that they follow all EEOC requirements and do not discriminate. As an HR and Recruiting Director, I know exactly how easy is for hiring managers to skew their decisions to hire exactly whom they want regardless of any office policy of antidiscrimination. 10 male doctors and not a single female doctor is almost impossible unless intentional. I see Dr. Marchese who has been really helpful, but the receptionists here are very unprofessional…read more I broke my tibia and needed an MRI for my knee, but the receptionists ordered it for my tibia rather than my knee. I know this is a small mistake, but I cannot drive and each time I need to go to an appointment I have to ask someone to drive me, so that was unfortunate that I had to schedule another MRI. In addition to this, the MRI facility communicated to me that the mistake was made, rather than the hearing from this office that they had made the mistake and explaining why I needed another MRI done. I have had other experiences with this staff as well when scheduling tele-heath appointments. The receptionist scheduled my tele-health appt. for 4:50 but when the time came and passed, I called the office to double check. When I got onto the phone with a receptionist they told me that 4:50 is not actually an appointment time, but rather as estimated time based on when the DR is finished with his appointments for the day. That was unfortunately information that should have been told to me when "scheduling". I know these aren't big instances of miscommunication, but they are enough for me to be wary of the care I receive here. Will something be ordered incorrectly again? Is my time being valued as a patient there?

I had the unfortunate experience of slipping on ice and landing on my left arm. Needless to say,…read morethe pain was excruciating so I ended up in the Leonard Morse ER. The ER doctor examined my arm and X-rays were taken and it turned out I had a radial neck fracture. He placed my arm in a splint and a sling and told me that I had to see an orthopedic doctor and that I would have to wear a cast for six to eight weeks. As you can imagine, I was not very happy about that. Enter Orthopedic Associates of Marlborough. Dr. Hangen and his staff were incredible! Dr. Hangen was calm, kind and gentle with my injured arm. He told me that due to the way the arm had broken that I would not have to wear a cast, but I had to do range of motion exercises at home in order to help the arm heal. I was ecstatic! I had my two week follow up visit this week and my arm is healing nicely. I can now drive again and as long as nothing changes, I don't have to go back for another follow up visit. The staff at Orthopedic Associates of Marlborough were all caring, compassionate and professional. I wish I could remember all their names to thank them individually, but Karen, Mary Beth, Kat and the woman who took my blood pressure and temperature were all great, as is everyone who works there. I don't want to experience any more broken bones, but if I ever do, you know who I'll be calling first!

He listens and is excellent at diagnosing the root cause of muscle pain and other issues! Thanks to him I found out that I had Cushing Syndrome and it changed everything. The office is clean and leaves a family-friendly atmosphere. Karen is great and takes care of all imaging requests and the PAs for the insurance companies. Parking is easy and you just feel like you are well taken care of. I hope he never retires.

I mean the ease with which the process moved, from appt setting, to examination/initial assessment to weekly progress. THIS team is the G.O.A.T. I feel so blessed to have Been treated here, they truly care about EACH PATIENT, which I feel is a rarity. They don't rush, they check in with you constantly during the appt, making sure you're ok. They challenge just enough and listen to you when you need them to. I can't say enough about this team.

When I received a bill for an additional $15 I called their (ATI) business office and was told it was an overcharge and they would zero it out. I was proactive as they sent me the same bill every month and I was told not to worry about it. 4 MONTHS LATER THEY TURNED ME OVER TO COLLECTION FOR $15. I have great credit and paid off the swine at collections just to save my fantastic credit score. A week later I get another call from collections that I still owe $15 for the second time I went to ATI . IF you want physical therapy go somewhere else like I have. What a hideously run ATI company. It is difficult to find medical professional who have experience with polio. They are headed by Dr. Darren Rosenberg who is excellent in this field. I have been very lucky to have their help.
