Jumpstarts and Lockouts is a great local company. We got locked out of our house during a power outage (typically go through the garage using the garage clicker and neither of us had our keys). Another company quoted us like $300 and a two hour wait time. William quoted us a much more reasonable amount and thirty minutes and was there in 20. It was late on a Sunday and he was kind and did not charge extra despite how long it took for him to find a way to get us in (I guess we should be glad our house is super secure?). At any rate when I wanted a key fob programmed and vehicle key copied I reached out and again got quick professional service at a reasonable cost that saved us a lot versus going to the dealership. Well, to my surprise, when I went to enter my house in a rush, my entire front door handle fell right off my door! I could see a small piece of metal plate that had broken, so I picked up a replacement. I called William and he said sometimes they do that. :) He was able to get out in a few hours and also replaced a deadbolt on a different door that didn't match, and offered to switch an outdoor handle that is often seen and very weather worn with one that isn't seen but is covered and in much better condition. The first one, (24 hour service) the dispatcher called me back a few minutes later to say she was unable to reach her technician. The 2nd one (also 24 hour service) took all my information, kept calling me Mrs. Gonzalez. (yeah, not my name) Then told me if no one called me back in 15-20 minutes then no one was available and wouldn't be until early morning. ( Apparently their definition of 24 hour service differs from mine. So, I called Jumpstarts and Lockouts next and got a recording, giving me a 2nd number to call, which went directly to William. He arrived earlier than his estimated time and even texted me to say he was a minute away. He was fast, efficient, friendly and had a calming demeanor. Took him 30 seconds to get the door open. I was in an awkward situation away from home. My car is notorious for locking itself on its own. I was on the road for work, loaded my car with keys in ignition, shut my door, and my car locked. I usually never write reviews but I'm so livid, decided to sign up and make an exception. I called and requested a jump start for my Hybrid car. The tech/mechanic was so polite, helpful and courteous. She managed to figure out where the battery was hidden and had to take extra steps in order to pop the trunk open in order to access it...and then easily she jump started it. Easy peasy! I went to get my wallet from inside the house and during that time, my car shut off as the key faub was out of range. Neither of us noticed it and after she charged my card...she left to go on to her next job. I noticed that my car wasn't on seconds later and went to start it again and of course it didn't work. So i called them again asking for assistance...thinking they'd do it free of charge since I literally just paid for the service and it wasn't complete. What was I thinking? Why would I think that? Granted she did offer to reduce it by 50% because the tech was already at the next job and of course that means minutes later she would have used $20 worth of gas or whatever resources that would be worth another $20 to charge me. At first I said okay, but then I decided I could live without my car and will just wait until my husband returns from deployment to jump start my car. This is the second time I used this company...the first time was such a success I decided to call them this time. But never again. I'm sure my money is a drop in the bucket for them, but I'll be sure to pass it along to my friends as well our military network in Lacey and Olympia. At a time when the economy is so low, why would I expect anything less than an "every man for himself" approach even from a locally grown hometown business. The woman who answered my call was friendly and cordial and the mechanic arrived in less than 30 minutes despite rush hour traffic. When the initial jump didn't work the mechanic cleaned the connections on my battery and got it going smoothly. These guys were Fricking AWESOME! I had a 2002 BMW that the dealership told me it would be at least $600 to get into and they would have to schedule it the next day. I had started my car in the warehouse and somehow hit the door lock when i got out. It was running inside the warehouse with a full tank of gas. So waiting another day was not an option. I called J&L and they were really honest and told me that there was a 50/50 chance to get it open. BUT they still came out to give it a try, That says a lot to me. 25 minutes later they arrived.
