Carriage Shack Farm - Getting ready for Santa`s Visit to our Farm

They also really need to clean the fish tanks in the reptile area. Still a great experience they just need to clean up the place a little bit. Having said that I still recommend going, the animals are wonderful and very soothing the sheep don't jump up on you like other places and the giant horse Trucky is a very gentle giant.

Looking now, I realize the reviews and pics are from up to 8 years ago. I think the farm hasn't been maintained well since. We got there early and there was already a ton of animal poop in the pens and lots of trash all around left to rust. Some is charming, like an old tractor, some isn't like old broken buckets etc. My husband referred to it as "more of a looking zoo" as there isn't much interaction with the animals. You can only enter the very first pen of goats. All of the other animals are in pens that you cannot enter, or feed them. Then there is a tractor ride. We got on and had to wait about twenty minutes to go because they wanted a full ride. It goes through an incredibly bumpy trail through...a weed filled field. Branches hitting everyone along the way. At least we're in NH in the fall where even an unkempt field with giant power lines is pretty. It goes past some llamas toward the end which was cute. I think Carriage Shack Farm should focus on cleaning up the pens, pruning the hayride path and adding some animals to see on it. The Halloween blowup trail was unnecessary when there's clearly work that needs to be done. I might try again in a few years but currently the place does not look like the old pictures posted by past guests.

Great prices, you get a lot of tokens and there are plenty of games to choose from (each one requiring 2-4 tokens from what I saw). Staff were helpful and friendly. They still use tickets rather than digital points on a card. Still use tokens too. Bring some cash in to skip the main office line. The building definitely needs some love cosmetic wise. When you step in, it's a throwback for sure. But the kids and families overall seem to all enjoy during their visit. We definitely did. It's a great visit while it's cold out. This place is basically an indoor carnival filled with old school (and new) arcade games, huge indoor playground ($12 per kid), two-story carousel, indoor roller coaster, and another moderate speed spinning ride called the Himalaya. Based on other folks photos I spotted a Ferris wheel within the playground. Not sure if it's still there or functional though. Great toddler area where they have a bunch of games and coin-op rides. Some were super throwback. A few candle pin bowling lanes that's coin op too. Supposedly there's a Ferris wheel indoor too.. Good amount of parking--although it's a little rough shape so leave your Ferrari at home. Bring the mini van. They have hand sanitizer all around so keep the germs down. Enjoy and have a fun time.

Since we got the groupon deal, every course was unlimited except the go kart. We enjoyed every course they offer, except maybe the mini golf. Looked like they are renovating another golf course, and building a new course. The flooring was uneven at the mini golf course. But the kids still enjoyed the mini golf course. The batting cage was a good too. It was fun for kids who like baseball or just hitting the ball because the machine spits baseball/softball out at you. The machine might not be in the best condition but we did make the best out of it. The laser tag was in a small building and we had fun in there. They are pretty good about letting you stay in there longer if no one is around. The go kart was really fun. It felt like the speed was set, and you cannot really go too fast. You also get one free med ice cream with one topping from the groupon. It was too much for 2 people to share that one med ice cream, so we claimed 2 ice creams at a time for 4 of us to share. All four of us enjoyed Mel's Funway. We were there for almost a whole day taking advantage of our unlimited everything. So instead of driving elsewhere for lunch, we ate at the diner there. Surprisingly the food is not bad. We had the stuffed tater tots and it was really good. We shared the ruben and it was not bad. The kids shared a chicken tender meal. Their french fries are good. If we are to go back there again, we will probably get their seafood; it looked like they gave you a big portion.

My granddaughter so badly…read morewanted to go to Mini-Mel's so we checked the website to see if they are open yet for the season and it said they were open from 12-6PM. See photo of website that I checked today. I even had my wife call them to confirm because it is April 23rd and I wasn't sure if the season started yet. No one answers the phone. They just have a recording saying to check their website for days and hours. So we drove there. The ticket booth had a lighted sign that says, "Open" and listed their hours as Noon - 6PM Monday through Sunday starting April 19th but no one was there and many rides had tarps over them. We walked around looking for someone and finally found a person who worked there. They said they are only open on weekends. My wife explained that she called and no one answers the phone. The person said that we should have checked the website for their hours. She said, "We did and it says you are open." As does the lit up sign at the ticket booth! The person said, "Well all the rides are closed and covered with tarps." Anyway, my granddaughter started crying. She was so disappointed because we had told her all about the rides and bounce house and she had been so excited to go. We couldn't go back on the weekend because she was leaving to go back home to Maine on Friday. This place has gone downhill. This is the second time in the last year that it has been closed when it was supposed to be open and I will not subject my grand kids to this nonsense and disappointment, nor will I give my hard earned money to a company with such poor customer service. Save your money and go someplace where they will treat you right!

What can I say besides "wow!"…read more X-treme craze was a really cool place! Our family members recommended it for our son, and we're excited to take him on the bounce-house Nerf gun wars. I believe we visited on a Tuesday or Wednesday, whichever night it was they had a special an hour of Nerf wars for $20/pp. Our son had a great time in the HUGE (HUUUUUUUGE!!!) bounce area ( it is so big they have CCTV in the back for parents/non-participents to watch from the seating area). They also had a variety of games, which require a pre-paid card, but were all very reasonably priced (0.25 cents to $1.75). The pre-paid card also came with certain deals (load $10 receive $12 credit) and there were a variety of games for a variety of different skill-levels. They had the "play until you win" claw machine too, which is great for kids of all ages. The prize wall was expansive and the prizes were "priced" fairly. It ranged from a few points for candy to thousands of points for larger items. My son was able to get a stuffed animal for around 700 points, and he loves that thing. The area was clean, it was not crowded, parking was plentiful and staff was friendly and approachable. We really loved Xtreme craze.
