I am so sorry to say this restaurant has gone downhill a bit. It be been going here over the years when my wife is away. This last visit I ordered General Tso's chicken. It consisted of small pieces of chicken, breaded and deep fried. Too small to actual tell is it was real chicken or some leftover scraps. There was no broccoli in the dish, just the chicken sevens with pork fried rice. That too was not up to what they used to serve. read more

Absolute ripoff.... $9.25 for 3 bone in spare ribs with hardly any meat . We've been going for 15 years and all of a sudden they decide to raise prices and cut quality of food . Nope all done save your money and go elsewhere. $20 total for lo mein combo plate and small spareribs!!! read more

I've driven by this place several times and I've wanted to stop, but I always seem to be on my way to something else. Finally I decided the time had come and I was going to Jumbo. On my way back from visiting my father one lazy Saturday, I went the opposite direction of my usual route just to stop and get some food. I pulled in and nearly went into the wrong business. Whoopsies. I didn't realize there was a mother restaurant right next to it, a restaurant that used to be in Guilford. I went into the right place, Jumbo, on my second attempt. If I'd been paying attention, I probably could have gotten it right the first time around. I ordered my usual General Tso's tofu and Szechuan tofu. They were both really good and I'm sure I'll be going back to Jumbo soon. read more

Awful ... where do I begin.... Teriyaki beef. Looked old and dried out and just sad. Sweet sour chicken. So grossly over fried. You can't tell what is the breading and what is the chicken. We sampled the fried dumplings (great) the crab rangoons (very good) shrimp fried rice (burnt tasting NG) the chicken & broccoli (good sauce, some chicken good other pieces gross) & the sweet & sour chicken (chicken tasty, sauce awful) Overall a good place to order your takeout, since there are 2 tables but it's not a sit down restaurant. read more

Just got takeout General Tso's from Jumbo! The food was exactly what I was expecting. Freshly prepared, hot, and flavorful. It was served with Pork-fried rice and won-ton soup. Update 6/25/2018. We still prefer Jumbo's food over all others in the area. Always fresh and hot. The family that owns it is so nice. Also willing to prepare your order with sauces on the side if you are counting calories. Our go-to place in North Madison. Food is always good, fast, and reasonably priced. Owners are very friendly. My kids love it also because of the gumball machines. Bring quarters! read more

Just moved literally down the street from here and tried it for the first time on Sunday night. I had cold sesame noodles and they were by far, the best ones I may have ever had. No skimpy on the peanut butter whatsoever. My husband had his usual chicken and broccoli combination plate which he thought was very good. The Beef and broccoli and pork fried rice were delicious as well. Went to pick up the order and the counter person was friendly. The decor inside it that of 1996-2001. The food is fresh, but like so many other Chinese places the quality of the cooking is inconsistent. The soup is good one time, not so good the next. They've gone the route of other places that use tortillas instead of pancakes for some of their dishes. The General Tso's batter was thick, and there was almost as much battered fat and bones as there was chicken. The dish wasn't at all spicy which is disappointing. Really good take out Chinese food. My wife and I went exploring through North Guilford a couple of Sunday's ago and on our way home we decided to have Chinese. I usually get reluctant when ordering take out because I feel it's hard to find good places around us. Jumbo's was the nearest place to us and we haven't tried it so we went for it. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and boneless ribs with rice. All very good so we went back the same week and good again. I definitely recommend it. read more

Never tried this place before because I wasn't a fan of its predecessor. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely go back. I had the house fried rice and it was packed with chicken, pork & shrimp. My husband had the house special chow mein and my daughter had the General Tso chicken.
