I am an owner of several rental properties. I received many notices from the HOA for violations…read morethat tenants incurred. As soon as I received them, I sent the notice to Troy Hageman, the owner, to correct the situation. This happened over and over, he told me he told the tenants of the problem. The next month a fine. Sometimes the tenant was billed and many times I had to pay. This went on and on, many hundreds of dollars of fines. A couple of years ago a massive hail storm hit several of my rentals. The insurance company gives a one year deadline to get the hail damage fixed, in order to pay for it. I told Troy over and over to get the job done within the first six months to write of the deductibles off my taxes. He kept telling me that he has it handled. He didn't get it done within six months or a year. He finally got them done 16 months later, totally missing the deadline. He avoided calls from the insurance company and said he is not responsible for insurance not paying. Why did I hire a property manager if not to handle the maintenance of the properties? I live out of state so it is hard for me to keep an eye on things. He wanted nothing to do with helping work with the insurance company. He did not keep current on leases. I do not recommend Remax/Momentum, at least for property management.
