While the technician was filing off my old gel polish, she filed far too aggressively and ended up filing into my natural toenail. My toenail broke in the middle, and I immediately jumped because of the pain. What made the situation even worse was that she didn't apologize or take responsibility for what happened. Instead, I was told that I supposedly came in with the toenail already broken, which was absolutely not my experience. I came in with an intact toenail and left with a painful, damaged nail. I also had to basically tell her what needed to be done to try to protect the broken nail. I paid for a gel pedicure and did not expect to leave in pain and have to deal with a damaged toenail afterward. Very disappointing experience. An apology and taking responsibility would have gone a long way. I will not be returning.

A previous visit left me confused when they denied having a product I had received before. Today, the service was even more frustrating. The technician kept stopping to answer phones, check out customers, and take new clients, which dragged a simple fill in into a drawn out, uneven, and at times painful process. While he did apologize and offered to fix it later, the constant interruptions and poor results left me unhappy. What made it harder was sitting quietly, not wanting to be labeled as the "angry Black woman," even though I knew I should have spoken up. I witnessed another African American customer being dismissed when she voiced her concerns, and it only confirmed my unease. The nail techs are so funny and sweet too! I remember taking my brother and dad for a pedicure there the other day when my mom couldn't go with me. I was hesitant at first because my dad has diabetes and a nail salon really isn't the best spot for him with his condition. I told the nail tech in advance to please be gentle with my dad since he has diabetes and has poor circulation on his feet which makes it dangerous if he gets an accidental nick or a cut. Right after that, she went to work on my cuticles, which are fine on my toes to begin with, and she ended up ripping off a part of my cuticle with my skin. I bled continuously. My toe didn't stop bleeding for at least a half hour. They immediately took her off my toes and had someone else do the pedi. The woman who took over spent the entire time dabbing my cut with alcohol since it just kept bleeding and bleeding. It was painful and just an awful experience. To make up for cutting me, she did a simple little design on two of my toes....definitely did not make up for what the other woman did. This was an absolutely awful experience and I will never return to this nail salon. I do not recommend it to anyone. It never seems to be busy in this salon and clearly there is a reason for that. My friend I went with the first time I was there was shocked I went back since she actually thought the place seemed dirty and unhygenic.
