My options were half-heartedly explained to me after an exam, with my face numb, in the waiting room with other patients walking in and out. No one ever followed up. This might just be bad luck, but my mouth was more sore after that exam than it was after my actual root canal a week later (in a different office). I wound up driving to see two other dental specialists in the suburbs. By contrast, they each fully explained the options, taking time to walk me though it, in a room sitting down, pointing at x-rays. Neither of them charged me $600 for the consult.
