I was scheduled for a possible Retreatment/Apico with Dr Adam Orgel. I was having some issues with a rear molar that had a cap, combined with a root canal. After doing several tests including a CT and examining it, he determined that I didn't need the procedure. I was relieved. I can see why he was rated number one dentist in the Washingtonian. Had an excellent experience at RCT endodontics with Dr. Orgel! I came in with a referral from my dentist and only loose guidance about whether I truly needed a root canal. Dr. Orgel was outstanding. Knowledgeable , patient and easy to understand. What stood out most was his honesty. Dr. Orgel took care of my second root canal I've had done with him today and I felt no pain. I like that he explains everything before he does the work and then step-by-step as he's working he explains what's happening and what he sees. His voice and personality are reassuring and comforting. I thought I might need Nitro, but it wasn't necessary! Dr. Orgel is out of network for me, but I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The staff was caring and supportive. Dr Siegel immediately made me feel comfortable and heard. He evaluated me and explained why I did not need a root canal procedure. The infection was not in the tooth but in the gum. He then made a plan for me. I feel Dr. Siegel is a wonderful find. Getting a root canal is probably the last thing anyone wants to do, but I have to tell you: at RCT Endodontics, the procedure really is fast and (aside from the pinch from the initial injection of the numbing agent) painless. I have had two root canals at RCT now (both with Dr. Orgel), and I highly recommend them. The procedure itself took about 30 minutes. Have been waiting for a claim to be completed for months. Have yet to hear back. Left several messages to no avail. All I receive is a balance due bill after I was advised by their billing department that I would actually be receiving a credit for the amount I paid at the time of my appointment because they were backed up on claims. Dr Adam Orgel was an exceptional and honest DDS. Not sure why my General dentists didn't realize I needed a bite adjustment? He made the adjustments but still recommend I go back to my General Dentists if I still feel a slight discomfort. Dr Orgel also recommended a retreatment on tooth number 13 which was done 10 years ago. Hopefully when I'm ready for the retreat Dr Orgel will still be in the DMV area fingers cross. read more

I had a great experience at RCT. I was initially very nervous about getting a root canal, but this experience made me realize it's not so bad after all. I saw Dr. Taylor for the first time today, and he had exceptional bedside manners. He was thorough in checking my teeth, complete in the information presented to me, and warm. I deeply regret ever stepping foot into this place. Dr. Awaddi had the poorest patient manner I've ever experienced--condescending, impatient, talking to me as if I was a child. I will always wonder why I didn't listen to my gut and get up and walk out. Instead I let him perform a root canal. As it turned out, the minor pain I had prior to the procedure became major pain that is still with me two months later. The general consensus from several other specialists I have since seen is that the root canal was completely unnecessary as the issue is clearly with a different tooth and might not even be stemming from a crack at all. The office never performed a CBCT scan (which I've since learned is a frontline diagnostic tool) and the doctor used his "best guess" about which tooth was the issue even though nothing major showed up in x-rays. I guess he's just a drill-happy kind of guy. I've now spent about $1,500 for treatment that made my issue worse, and got to meet a subpar human along the way. So yeah, highly do not recommend. read more

Ask about their fees before they do anything. $2,000 for a root canal. $300 for any consultation. If you give them your dental insurance but the insurance company site is down, they charge you the total amount. They do this even if your referring dentist has sent them your insurance numbers, and they know you have good insurance. read more

My first time coming here I just went to get an evaluation. Dr.Taylor was the one I went to go see. He told me that my wisdom tooth looked healthy regardless of the crack that took place. (I cracked my wisdom tooth) It took me about 3 weeks to decide if I should pull my wisdom teeth or just get the root canal. The pain was unbearable so I went to get it done by Dr.Taylor. I walked in today (8/29/17 @10:00am) to get my Root canal done and the front desk lady (I wish I knew her name; she lives in Bowie, thats all I can remember ) was so friendly and welcoming. She provided GREAT customer service. Then Carla (Which I believe is the assistant) was AMAZING! Can I tell you she gives off the best motherly feel in case you have bad nerves like I do when it comes down to ANY surgeries. She helped Dr. Taylor throughout my whole procedure. Dr. Taylor is a GREAT oral Surgeon. If you want the BEST service please go see him. If you are scared to get an oral surgery done and you want to go somewhere that you KNOW they will take care of you? Go see him. I am a PICKY person and I only recommend the best. He is just that. I am going to make a youtube video about my first ROOT CANAL experince with him. Although Dr Orgel was very pleasant and seemed genuinely concerned, he did not fix my issue - if anything, I left in more pain than when I came in with. I was there for a follow up to a root canal I had in April which was done by a different doctor who's bedside manner was horrific. He was brusque, dismissive and frankly, I think rushed through my root canal (why else would I still have pain 2+ months later)? In 2016, I had a root canal done by Dr. Taylor at the practice; he was exceptional and completely fixed my tooth. This was a completely painless and very quick root canal. less pain than I have experienced getting a routine filling and quicker too. This is a feat because i have a severe gag reflex and very high anxiety around teeth pain which usually causes phantom anxiety pain when I am numbed up. This usually makes me the most annoying patient to do work on. Their care was so good, I never once had to say sorry for stopping treatment to cough or wince from pain (anxiety pain or real pain). I would recommend them to anyone. If I ever need a root canal again, they would be the only place I would agree to go to. read more

Dentegra has them listed as in network for the Dentegra discount for AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan holders, but their billing department says they are not part of the plan and were generally rude about it, as if people on Medicare are not worth bothering with. The screenshot shows that they are indeed part of the network for this discount program (or at least Dentegra believes they are). It's quite disappointing. read more

Root canal with Dr. Mark. The actual procedure itself took like 15 minutes tops. Tooth #10 (top, next to front tooth = easy access). Granted, my regular dentist had attempted to get through but too much calcification prompted her to send me to RCT to finish the job. What a great experience. I had a root canal at 7am (hours are very conducive for working individuals) with Dr. Ogel (assisted by the very warm and customer friendly Jade). I don't think I have ever been to an office with such great customer service. It was almost like staying at the Four Seasons lol. You become so accustomed to poor service (which is why I left my prior Endodontic practice), that when the service is great you are kind of stunned by the experience! I needed that refreshingly great encounter for my second root canal in a week's time Even the front desk/accounting staff were pleasant...again, so rare! I will definitely be returning for future root canals (unfortunately I know my teeth and I will need another ) and highly recommend this practice! Having a root canal done is never fun Dr Taylor at RCT ENDODONTICS made the experience so much more bearable. I've heard horror stories about root canals but I can't even relate. They did everything possible to make sure I was safe comfortable and informed about what was going on. The facilities and there practices are state of the art and their customer service is top notch.
