I had the most fabulous experience at Julep Farms. We're traveling from Charleston and going through Highlands, and I heard that they had Highland cows and other animals so I made my husband stop. The food was top-notch, next level. Apparently they have a new chef in for Miami, who is amazing. The service was phenomenal. I wish I could remember my server's name. He was so attentive. I also got a drink on the way out from the to get a little caffeine from the fabulous cocktail menu. The host/Barista was so kind. I would've gone broken in the store. They did have a couple of mishaps with the chef concerning 3 brunch entrees, The Farmhouse Breakfast. I had 3 of my friends order the Farmhouse Breakfast and all 3 of them looked different when the entrees came out, half the stuff was left out. It was corrected but not promptly. When we visit our friends in the mountains, we always come here for lunch. I usually end up buying a few items from the amazing boutique -that has grown over the years. The Angus beef smash burger is always a favorite along with the truffle fries. We also love the Julep club and Julep Caesar salad. The servers are always very friendly and do a great job! (Sadly, I don't have pictures of our food) The inside of the boutique and restaurant are absolutely gorgeous, as well as the stunning grounds. Although a beautiful property, our brunch was very average. Two of us got the avocado toast, which written sounds delicious. The croissant was not a traditional croissant, but more of a briosch roll dense and compact. The avocado on top was barely there, roasted tomatoes are 1 halved cherry tomato (not roasted) and the lime cream was a sour cream dollop on the side of the roll. House fries were crispy diced potatoes that were tasty, but not what was expected. For the price, we expected so much better. The other two ordered the farmhouse breakfast, which gave you 4 small steak tips! The bowl was a little bland needing salt and pepper. They did give you two over easy eggs which was nice. The menu states one. Don't bother with the oj, Not fresh, not good. ​ We asked for a side of eggs, which our waitress made it sound like we wanted some exotic dish and the kitchen was not equipped to make a side of eggs. 5/5 stars!!! We were greeted by the cutest cows and ponys, they're right at the front ready to be pet! We then ventured inside to the adorable shop and grabbed some coffee! After exploring the beautiful spaces, and washing our hands, we headed to pick our own flowers! The annual flower picking event is currently going on during select days and times so be sure to check and see because it was so much fun! On our way to pick our own flowers, there was corn hole and we had to get a quick game in! The scenery is absolutely beautiful and then we made our way over to the bar near the flowers where we met Rick! We love Rick!!! My boyfriend and I purchased one flower bouquet along with the current mocktail and cocktail (soooo good! We have a peach mocktail and watermelon cocktail!) We were able to pick the most beautiful bouquet and had the best time together! We sat and spoke with Rick for a bit who was such a kind soul. We are now back on our way home from a fun time in North Carolina and this was the perfect ending. What a treat of a destination. More than a restaurant, more than a farm, more than a place for a glass of wine among the flowers, this is a celebration of the season. Spent a summer afternoon today picking flowers from their rows and rows of blooms, while enjoying a mocktail from the 'flower bar'. Strolled the grounds, charming farm buildings, steers and ponys, ducks, and prettiest little chickens on our way to the main building. Outfitted as an event center with mountain views, also serves a trendy boutique shop with adjoining restaurant. We had a lovely lunch on the patio overlooking the manicured grounds, good food, great service, and mountain ambiance unlike anything else found in area. beautiful property. im not sure what they are trying to be. looks like a wedding venue with restaurant and gift shop on the side. our meal and service was below average. my shrimp and grits were grainy (under cooked?) and room temp. my wife's sweet potato waffle fries were hard and cold. we had to find our waitress and ask for our check and was never served additional water. at one point, during the meal, a lady who looked like the manager came by and ask if we needed anything. my wife ask for more ketchup. we never saw this lady again. I do not recommend shopping at Julep farms. I bought two items of clothing there and had to return them later with the tags attached and in the bag. They do not give refunds and told me they would email me a credit since I could not find anything that I was interested in their store. They never emailed me a credit . I have contacted my bank and they unwittingly told them they gave me a gift card which they never did. If they had I would have used it. They have cause me much undue stress over this as it is about the principle of it all! They have basically stolen my money! This is about the principle of their integrity. They own me $173,83. They have taken my money and the returned items and refuse to give me a credit or send me an email credit like they said they would. When I went in to purchase something with the credit I thought I had there was no email from them and they said they needed a gift card which was never given to me. The new manager said she was not working there when it happened and she was very rude and could care less about what the truth was. This is about the principle of being swindled by this company. If you shop there be very careful. My husband and I are building a home up the mountain from there and we used to enjoy eating there. I would never go back. This is an unscrupulous company. They have also lied to my bank! If I could give them a lower rating than a 1 it would be a 0! Do not trust purchasing products from this company. read more

Food was tasty but I think they were having a bad night. All of our food was lukewarm and some was actually cold. Two attempts to get hot coffee and both times not even warm. We talked to the server and she attempted to correct issues but was not successful. We ate the lukewarm food and gave up on the coffee . Perhaps we will try again. From the intricate farm/modern style buildings to the flower field to the animals on property, this spot is a gem. The place is absolutely beautiful and has great atmosphere. We also had a nice server. But the food was completely bland. I don't think they used any seasonings. For the price point, it should've been better. We were a table of 6 adults and 3 children. Even the kids chicken tenders, which were well cooked and perfectly crispy, had no flavor. The beef brisket on the farmhouse breakfast ($24) was tender and had the most flavor out of all the dishes but it came with overcooked eggs (on both of the 2 that were ordered), making the dish overall very dry. The potatoes in it were also flavorless. To top it off, there was a 20% service charge that was not the tip. Not sure what that's for - the booth had a ton of crumbs and a potato on it when we were sat. We had to clean it off ourselves. We also had to wait awhile for our food. The server acknowledged the delay and apologized. They also provided complimentary dessert after someone in our party requested it. They told us there was a fire in the kitchen, someone was a no show, and another person quit (it's new year's day). I might be back to try the coffee shop and enjoy the setting but the restaurant wasn't worth it for the price. Perhaps dinner is better, but large groups beware! read more

On a friend's recommendation we took the long way to Western Carolina in order to experience Julep Farms. Restaurant was just OK, no vegan options and that's disappointing, so we had yet another salad and fries for lunch. To add insult to injury, it's pricey so get ready. Lots of touristy swag in the restaurant shop entrance but, a good size bar area with lots of options there. So why the 4 stars? Outside on the property is what makes Julep Farms interesting. Wide open spaces. Gardens, flowers, ponies, chickens and more await your attention. We played corn hole and bocce after lunch. Even got a tour of the chicken coop! Julep Farms has very nice modern cabins to rent and its close proximity to Clayton, Dillard, and Franklin makes it a possibility in the future. It has kind of a mini Serenbe, GA/Magnolia Market, TX/Seabrook, WA feel in the early stages of development. Lot to like here. Hope it all works out for them. read more

We stayed two nights in the Derby cabin and completely enjoyed our stay. If you look at the pictures others have posted you will notice that the entire place is done in white ship lap wood. The cabins, the restaurant, the shop... all have nice quality white plank interior. That nice touch is carried through the entire look of the place... clean and neat. The cabins, and the rest of the property, all shows signs of quality construction. Someone took the time to do this well... at least far better than 95% of the places you will stay. I have stayed at some that were more impressive, but I have also paid three times the Julep rate for those, so this is a tremendous bargain. Our room was a decent size with a seating area that had two very large leather overstaffed chairs facing the TV. A nice bar like area with a coffee maker and sink next to the sitting area... great views of their green field and the other white cabins... a nice covered porch with two chairs - great for coffee in the morning. The place does have gravel roads, granted they are nice gravel roads... My wife wore some sandals and we decided that they were not appropriate for walking on the roads. Not a big deal, but something to think about as you plan a stay here. The cabins are a pleasant walk from the restaurant. The place was very comfortable. Super nice bead. Great sheets, thick towels, etc... Decently large tile shower with a rain head. The bath vanity is large with two sinks... The place we just stayed in LA didn't have room for my razor and her hairdryer, so this was a relief... There was a little road noise, but we fired up a white sound app on an iPad and ended that. They do room service only if you stay for a longer visit. That's fine with me since we had plenty of towels, etc. The farm is entertaining. All the landscaping is very well done. The restaurant is great. You can get a nicely made cappuccino or other specialty coffee at the shop. We did that in the mornings. There is some artwork for sale as well as interesting furnishings, books, interesting things for your home and kitchen... All nicely done. It reminds me of places we have stayed in the past that are far more expensive... Barnsley Gardens is an example that comes to mind. It's a gem of a place. I will definitely come back. read more

This was our second time staying at Julep Farms, and while the food and restaurant service continued to exceed expectations, the cottage experience was disappointing. We had the misfortune of a carbon monoxide alarm going off at 1:30 AM. After much troubleshooting on our own, 30 minutes later the alarm was still blaring. While someone answered their 24hr hotline, there was no real concern or suggestions we hadn't tried other than to "turn the gas off". Only when we turned it off did the alarm finally stop! This was concerning, because the pilot or fireplace we ran earlier should not have caused excess carbon monoxide. Another reason we believe there was a leak was that a few of us developed headaches and nagging coughs soon after turning the fireplace on earlier that evening. We could look past all that, if we were met with the type of southern hospitality you would expect at a place of this caliber, however after voicing our concerns the next day, and being told we would be receiving a text from management soon, no one came to check the gas physically or followed up with us via phone or email. When approaching management the following day, upper management reported there was "no gas leak" and that we had the fire on too long. Again, there was no physical check for the gas because we had family at the house throughout the day. This is obviously a safety concern, and we hope future customers are not harmed. But overall customer service could use some major re-amping. I would suggest spending a thousand dollar long weekend elsewhere. read more

We have wanted to go to Julep Farms for quite a while and decided that would be a great place to celebrate my husband's birthday, so we went for dinner. Driving up to the property, there are cozy, new cabins, animals, pastures and gardens. Entering, we walked through a shop with cool and unique items and gift ideas, including beautiful jewelry, clothing, glass and barware, interesting books and all kinds of entertaining items that you never knew you needed but you actually do! There's a coffee shop and pastries as well that I will definitely have to check out! The dining room is beautiful and comfortable. We were able to carry on a conversation which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is relaxing and spacious with tall ceilings, an inviting bar and a beautiful fireplace which was elegantly decorated for the holidays. The views did not disappoint with mountains and a beautiful sky during sunset as the backdrop. This is also a venue for weddings and other celebrations, but it never felt "venue-y". The aesthetics, architecture and landscaping were well appointed, upscale and thoughtfully placed. Beautiful environment. Bren was our waitress and she was super nice, present and did not rush us at any time. We appreciate her genuine personality and eye contact! She described the specials, gave us a moment to peruse the menu (everything looks absolutely amazing) and brought back a nice glass of Aviary Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Delicious! By the way, if you buy a bottle of wine and do not finish it, you can take it home with you. I believe that's what I was told and I think that is super cool! We had the Brie appetizer which consisted of smoked walnuts, toasted almonds, pecans, fig and cherry jam, pomegranate, and honey molasses, with grilled ciabatta bread, which was phenomenal. I am still craving! For dinner we had creamy beef and wild mushroom ravioli with a parmesan cream sauce and spinach and chicken paillard with sage brown butter, parmesan gnocchi and sautéed kale. We both got very quiet as we shared and enjoyed the flavors from our main course. Everything was cooked to perfection! Thank you Chef! To commemorate my husband's birthday, Bren brought out chess pie with whipped cream and strawberries, which was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to finish our meal. We met the owner, Lauren and the Manager, Jeff, both were very personable and kind. Jeff checked in on us to see how things were. No complaints here! Everyone was so accommodating and easy to talk with. It felt like we were enjoying an amazing dinner at a good friends house. So comfortable. The entire experience from the moment we walked in the front door until we left completely satisfied was such a treat! Thank you Julep Farms for making my husband's day so special! We will definitely be back for date night, when friends or family come in town and when we want to pop in and hang out at the bar for a nice cocktail. The atmosphere was somewhat dark, though it was evening. The bar area is very nice. I came with my mom and sister, and we are on brief vacay. This was a close option for us, and many places are closed after 5, so we came here. The prices are a little high, but I don't know if that is just par for the area. I got the Caesar salad with Salmon. My salmon was undercooked, but I took it back to the cabin we are renting and cooked it the rest of the way for breakfast. The salad was excellent and had cornbread croutons (which were sweet btw, in case you are not a fan) and bacon and tomatoes and shaved Parmesan. My mom had the same but her salmon was fully cooked. My sister had the shrimp and grits, and the shrimp tails had the shells on them, which were hard to see with the lighting and came as a bit of a surprise. My sister was not impressed with the shrimp & grits flavor profile. It certainly wasn't anything to write home about. It was edible, though. My drink was fabulous! I had the Jalapeño & Hibiscus Margarita, and contemplated getting another, but got dessert instead. Totally worth it! I had the chocolate mousse which was dark chocolate with a drizzle of raspberry, I believe. My mom had the carrot cake and was satisfied with her choice. My sister had the crème brûlée and didn't really comment on it but she ate all of it, so I take that as a positive. Overall, the experience was nice. When we asked for the peach salad, here in Georgia, in July, they were out of- you guessed it- peaches. Server was pleasant and apologetic. Water was cold. We had a horrible experience there yesterday. We've been there in the past and it's been good. We waited over 35 minutes to have a drink order come and it never showed. The waitress spilled water all over one of our friends and we understand that accidents happen, but then she just simply vanished. We couldn't find her to tell her that we were leaving. The menu has been reduced greatly, and what was actually on the reduced menu, half of it wasn't even available. that day. To add insult to injury, after we left, we had a charge show up on our American Express from the card They require for a reservation - for $268.!!! I called them to ask what was going on, and they said it was because we "skipped out" on drinks and food that never arrived at our table.......simply mind boggling. When I tried to speak to the manager, Carmine about it, he was an absolute jerk!!We will never be back and still fighting this bogus charge on AMEX. Avoid at all cost! read more

First, let me say we have loved this place. However, what happened to us today is inexcusable. It's Mother's Day and my wife and I made a 1:30pm reservation for a late lunch (after church), several days in advance, knowing it would be busy. At 12:55pm, we got a text saying that they were sorry, but they were canceling our reservation due to "over service of previous guests." What?!?!? It's Mother's Day! At 1:30pm! Where are we supposed to go for a nice lunch to celebrate??? Not even an offer of a free glass of wine next time or 20% off...nothing. To me, this is inexcusable. We've overlooked some previous issues like very slow service or making us wait a long time even after we had a reservation because we loved the view and the food, but after this, it will be a long time before we return to Julep Farm. Awful private event experience. Do not waste your time or money here. Exceptionally poor and slow communication to get the event setup. The only time they were responsive/prompt was when they wanted their money. Without notice they raised the per person price citing a clause in the contract that 'prices were subject to change'. (Advance communication of this would have be the proper course of action. When asked about it they unapologetically referred us to the aforementioned line in the contract) Service the night of the event was horrible. At every course they failed to serve all our guests, making people wait for their food. (Our guest numbers had been set for weeks) No redeeming qualities to mention. 100% do not recommend. read more

I have to say what passion, equity, talent and hard work that Rick and Lauren have put into this place! In five years it is an absolutely charming peace of heaven on Earth. The farm is perfect and quiet, with animals for the kids to pet and see, chickens to feed, pigs, dogs, and my favorite, Key Cat! The rooms all have a unique decor, and Lauren's taste shines thru on each! The cabins are comfortable and quiet as a mouse, and Ricks talent as a builder shows The restaurant, bar and shop in the Social House is also top notch! My restaurant review is a solid 5-stars. The service was TREMENDOUS. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating and friendly. The entire wait and bar staff seemed pleasant, happy and helpful to each other. Good vibes for sure. We had some tasty grub in this gorgeous modern and clean restaurant. We asked to be seated by the fireplace and was quickly sat for a late lunch. The decor and art was fantastic, real art ( for sale) relevant to the location and decor. Loved it. Julep Farm is a wonderful getaway in the North(east) Georgia Mountains. It seems conceived to be a special events facility (especially weddings) but is a charming weekend getaway as well. On the 300 acre compound, you'll find: - the main building with the restaurant and a large shopping area, a patio for dining and a separate section for events - the chicken coop and herb garden - the games area / croquet lawn at the silo - another event venue (upscale barn) that also houses the office - the Shetland pony corral - four guest cottages: The Boathouse, The Magnolia, The Derby and Sweet Tea (the first two are two bedroom, the others are one bedroom) We spent a four day weekend in The Boathouse and ate twice at the restaurant. Overall, a great experience with a few areas for improvement. First, the really good: The Restaurant The menu is seasonal and while not extensive, offers a good selection of starters and entrees to tempt all palates. Meat lovers and vegetarians will find appealing options (including gluten free). The choices of sides are equally well thought out, including excellent Brussels sprouts. The cocktail and wine lists are well curated (note - not all options are offered by the glass). The atmosphere is casual minimalist with lux accents (think green velvet curtains). In addition to dinner, we had a breakfast there and were very happy with the Croque Madame, the omelette and the skillet quiche. The Cottage We stayed at The Boathouse, listed as the roomiest of all four cottages. The cottages all have front porches with comfortable chairs, making it a lovely place for coffee while watching the sun rise. The decor is definitely modern farmhouse, and The Boathouse is creams, blues, greens. The layout is Two bedrooms with a common area in the middle There is wifi available to guests. The largest bedroom is outfitted with two Queen beds and the other, smaller bedroom has a king. Each room has dressers, chairs, TVs, and overhead fans. Each bath has a large shower with a rain shower head, and a separate vanity area (note: the "closet" is an open hanging rod in the vanity area). The beds are quite comfortable! The common area has a sofa, and two comfy chairs, along with two side chairs, a gas fireplace and a wet bar, including a small fridge and a Keurig. Julep Farm provides coffee cups, wine glasses and an initial supply of coffee pods (along with creamer and sweetener). There's also a small amount of dish soap and a trash can. Now, areas for improvement The restaurant Not much improvement here. We had a very good experience in both our visits. The Cottage We enjoyed being at The Boathouse, but here are a few things to note for your stay: - noise carries. Conversations in one bedroom are easily heard in the common area and sometimes even in the other bedroom. - the water pressure in the shower is very low. Women - be aware that it will take some time to rinse the shampoo from your hair! - they supply only an initial amount of coffee. If you don't bring any with you, you'll quickly run out (they do have more available for purchase at the main building). - there was no sponge and only a few napkins, so cleaning the coffee mugs and wine glasses was difficult (There's no daily service so you won't get new ones.) We went to Dollar General and bought a sponge and some paper towels. I'd also advise bringing some paper plates and a few utensils if you're staying more than one night. None of these things are significantly negative - just sharing so that if you do decide to go, you'll go prepared. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return for another long weekend as soon as we can. read more

At the time, Dillard was probably about 20 hours from Asheville [via stagecoach], which I would imagine would equate to a 2-3 day journey or 30 hours from Atlanta and 32 hours from Knoxville, the largest nearby cities. Who would have thought this sleepy little mountain valley town would someday become the home of one of the cutest, most Instagrammable restaurant/farms EVER!!! Julep Farms sits on 22 acres of pasture land sandwiched between the mountains that make up SKY VALLEY to the East (one of which is the 2nd tallest peak in Georgia), Penson Knob to the North, George Mountain to the West and Chestnut/Oakley Mountains to the South. Just beyond its property borders is Mud Creek, but don't let the name fool you. This short but amazing waterway is responsible for two AMAZING nearby waterfalls. If you look carefully from Hwy 246 while driving, you can see Estatoah Falls cascading in the mountains just beyond the entrance to Julep Kitchen. It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in all of Georgia. The other waterfall is located just beyond the golf course lake in Sky Valley. Julep Farms is owned by decorator, designer, & restauranteur Lauren Weaver and her husband Rick, who previously owned The French Market & Tavern in Locust Grove, GA (south of Atlanta). You don't need to step inside the restaurant to see she has an amazing eye for quaint details. The Farm buildings and grounds are simply stunning. * THE EXPERIENCE The super attractive restaurant is surrounded by gravel parking. West of the building is a large pond, gorgeous chicken coop, fire pit sitting area and a beautiful blue barn with a fenced pig pen and miniature horse stable. East of the restaurant is a large open field with 4 amazing cabin rentals connected by a circular drive: The Boat House, The Derby, The Magnolia, and The Sweet Tea. These cabins have Joanna Gaines-like country charm that we hope to experience someday in the near future for an Anniversary Getaway. INSIDE the automatic opening doors you will first encounter the JULEP MARKET. Here you will find unique home and garden finds, scented candles, handmade jewelry & more. The Julep Coffee and Sweets bar accommodates the coffee lovers and the sweet tooth of those desiring pastries like cookies and scones. The restaurant is known as the JULEP KITCHEN, and features "New American cuisine with a decidedly Southern Twist" and inside the dining area is the JULEP BAR, serving wines, champagnes, locally crafted beer and cocktails. During our first visit there was a wedding going on and the setting was ideal! The bride marched from the gorgeous deep blue barn towards the super cute chicken coop before turning to meet her groom standing in the field below the old concrete silo. While I must admit I have not been overly impressed with the food, I am blown away with the décor, ambiance, service and charm of this "Modern Farm Resort". The chef himself brought my meal to the table and also came back out to sit with us a spell at the end. He told me of the Thanksgiving spread they had a week prior and I drooled with every description and I fully plan to bring the entire family back in 2021! I'm a person who appreciates the details! I prefer simple, yet thoughtful. Uncluttered, but well-placed. Beautiful blends of textures and materials, but with pops of contrast. I gravitate to kindness, creativity, and understated beauty... the kind of beauty that doesn't scream "look at me" from the surface, but captivates you more and more with each underlying layer you discover. Julep Farms has this sort of beauty in spades! I don't own any part of this property, yet it feels so much like its mine. Julep Farms is like the person you dream of, but didn't know actually existed and the destination you always hoped to find, but didn't know where to go. I know this may sound strange to some, but Julep Farms actually reminds me of my wife of 23 years. While it is still a work in progress, it is perfectly amazing as it currently stands even if no other improvements are made. But improve it will! What a heavenly place! Driving in you are greeted by an idyllic scene - beautiful flowers, a pond with ducks swimming, the pettiest cows and ponies centered by a beautiful "farmhouse ". To get to the restaurant, you cross a lovely store with beautifully sourced items , although a bit overpriced. The restaurant is pretty, but please sit outside if the weather permits. The view of the mountains, the fields and the cottages is spectacular! We were greeted by a young server, lovely, but clearly very green. He managed to take our order without an issue, but it was rough from there. When our wine arrived, he brought the glasses, the bottle and started to leave - saying it was a screw top- we poured our own wine. As our dishes came out , they were handed to us after calling it out. This is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The food was wonderful! We all did the pre fixe menu with choice of Caesar or arugula, roasted peaches and burrata salad - both delicious. We all had something different- the shrimp and grits, butternut squash ravioli with sage mascarpone sauce, the short rib and roasted chicken with divine mashed potatoes- all four were phenomenal! My salmon crusted with pecans was flavorful, but overcook. The star of the dessert was the chocolate chip bread pudding- out of this world. All in all we will be back. I'm sad to write this but I hope it is received as constructive criticism as I love Julep Farms and am a regular patron of them. This rating is about our stay at the Magnolia Cottage only. We're locals and for my wife's birthday, my mother in law wanted to get us a night in one of the cottages since my wife I and love going to Julep to eat. My mother in law called to pay for a night and the girl on the phone shared that they only do online bookings and would not be able to process a booking for one of the cottages on the phone via card. I get it. Businesses' have systems in place in order for their operations to run successfully. However, my mother in law did not want to do an online reservation for privacy reasons. I get that too. So my mother in law offered to drive to Julep and pay in person cash or card. The girl on the phone apparently gave her attitude and said it wasn't possible. My mother in law asked if she could speak with the supervisor. Rather than saying "No, the supervisor isn't here, can I take a message?" or "Yes, let me get them", the girl said something along the lines of "the supervisor will tell you the same thing so there's no need to talk to them". So here's my some constructive criticism: 1) Please train your staff on how to speak to customers: I understand if you have systems in place that you have to keep but there's a way to communicate that without attitude. 2) Please don't snuff your nose up at descent people offering you money: I'm a business owner myself...on a much smaller scale of course but I'd like to think that when a descent polite person is offering you money in CASH in exchange for your services, you'd do everything you could to make it work? At the end of the day, I guess it worked itself out and my mother in law was able to come in and pay via card. Thank you for being flexible. I just wish there wasn't so much attitude to get there. Again, this is not a review to tear Julep Farms down as we've loved our experiences at the restaurant. You can see my previous raving reviews of our time at the restaurant. This is just about the Magnolia Cottage and our disappointing experience staying there. I hope this serves as constructive feedback. $429 $429 is the price my mother in law paid for the cottage(taxes included). It's a cute one bedroom, one bath place. However, at $429, I expect luxury. The cottages are marketing as "luxury", however there were definitely areas that felt more like a "luxury" apartment. 3) The shower knob...did I just enter my high school locker shower room? What's happening there? 4) The Shower faucet...am I staying in an economic AirBnb? If so, that would be fine. But I wasn't staying in a $98 AirBnb. I was staying in a $429 "luxury cottage". Why is the shower faucet so cheap? $429 is more on the splurge side of things so I'd expect a splurge kind of shower faucet, right? 5) The bed mattress - We came to get rest. The bed mattress was soft at first but offered no support. We both woke up sore. 6) Quartz Countertops - Maybe it's the most hardy thing for a business with people going in and out but it is not luxury. Quartz countertops are great! I love them, they're great if I'm trying to stay at a budget AirBnb. But I was staying at a "luxury" cottage so I would like maybe you'd use real stone? 7) TV - There were still water marks on the TV from the person who cleaned it. Again, acceptable if I'm paying for a budget AirBnb. It's expected. What's not expected is expecting a $429 value and marketing to as "luxury" and walk into a $98 experience. It's the details. You know it. I know you know it. The landscaping and the lobby to the restaurant are impeccable! Why not match that in the cottages? 8) For this price point and it being marketed as "luxury", I would think you might offer a personalized welcome note(even a generic mass produced print note from owner would be nice). 9) The shower curtain? Again, I wasn't staying in a $98 AirBnb. At the least, I would think you'd install a glass panel for the shower at $429. Please hear me out. I'm not here to be a Debby downer. I'm just disappointed that our great experiences at the restaurant didn't match our stay at the cottage. There was inconsistency and I wish we had a better experience. Appreciate you creating a beautiful space in Dillard. Appreciate you creating jobs. I hope this provides value to you as you continue to run Julep. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant! If you go for lunch you must try their barbecue chicken sandwich with carmalized onions and melted goat cheese. Life changing! We went back for dinner and had amazing short ribs. The bread pudding was the best EVER. They have an amazing staff and the owner is lovely. You will love their beautiful gift shop. We took our parents there for their Anniversary dinner last night. A party of five people experienced amazing food and ambiance. The scenery from the dining area is gorgeous with mountain views and color. I was impressed with our server, Jennifer, who offered us a pleasing experience. My husband and I stopped in on our way to visit friends. We were the only shoppers there and counted 5 people working including what appeared to be the owner and his wife. Not a single person said hello to us or asked if they could help. She over charged me and then said to check my card it statement in a few days for the correct amount. I had to ask for a receipt. No "thank you for stopping in" or "we appreciate your business" or even "have a nice weekend." Life is too short and there are many many more shops that do welcome customers and appreciate their business. I will never go back again!!! read more
