My niece had her wedding there on July 18th and it was magical. A true fairytale wedding. The facilities were rustic but charming. My husband and I attended the Italian Dinner tonight at The Farm, with music by Mike Guggino and Barrett Smith (members of the Steep Canyon Rangers) It was absolutely delightful! The staff and owner provided their guests with not just food and music, but an experience. From the horse that comes down the hill just as the music starts, to the fire that starts just as the sun is setting....and the sunset over the mountains! Truly incredible. What an outstanding venue for a wedding or other event. We stayed in the cabins for two night and they are really nice! We had everything we needed. It was so fun to hang out with all the wedding guests, going for walks, visiting the horses and playing games. I would definitely recommend this venue for a large event! We took a last minute trip into the Asheville, NC area for Christmas and needed a place to stay. Well, we chose to spend our Christmas at The Farm. We stayed in the Hickory Cabin and we couldn't be more delighted with our choice. The cabin is so quaint and cute. It was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was roomy and so comfortable. The fireplace is great. We had a fire going in the cabin both nights. The location was great as well, real close to town and grocery stores. I highly recommend the Farm for anyone's future stay. read more

I attended a long-time friend's wedding at the Farm yesterday evening, and there is really no other word to describe it but perfect. The venue itself is lovely. Nestled in the woods with beautiful stables on one side and cabins on the other, the space is perfect for an intimate, relaxing gathering. The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, always on hand to provide hors d'oeuvres, drinks, or anything else we needed. The food was delicious as well, and the DJ kept the after-dinner party going well into the night. If you're looking for this sort of space for a special event, you won't find much better. Went to a wedding recently of dear friend's son. The venue was really pretty and true to it's name young colts and horses came over to the fence to be petted. The ceremony was outside and even though it was a fairly warm day, it felt comfortable to in the early evening as there were large trees in the near background which kept us shaded. Both the drinks and meal were delicious! Their sound system in perfect working order and the staff seemed very accommodating! read more

We had our wedding at The Farm and couldn't be happier with the venue and staff. In the year of planning, they were extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. Andrea, Kirin, and everyone else we worked with were the definition of professional, friendly, and patient. The venue itself is so beautiful, but when decorated, our jaw dropped as it completely transformed into the most gorgeous wedding setting. They have pretty much every item you need for decor, which makes planning a lot easier. When I had no idea what I was doing, they were quick to suggest options and give their opinions. On the day of, they made sure everything went smoothly. We also stayed on the property, as did a handful of our wedding guests and highly recommend the cabins for the guests and bride/groom cottage. The cabins are rustic, yet updated and comfortable. I will absolutely be back for a quiet getaway at the Chesnut Cabin! I would highly recommend the Farm as a wedding venue to any bride and groom wanting a beautiful outdoor setting in the Carolina mountains! I wish we could do the day all over again :) read more

My adult son and I spent Thanksgiving in the Hickory Cabin and had a blast. The exterior looks like a mountain cabin, but the interiors are modern and well-equipped with Wi-fi, satellite TV, a huge modern bath with whirlpool and very comfortable furniture. The fabulous restaurant scene in Asheville is about twenty minutes away, so we enjoyed Salza, White Duck Taco, Rocky's Hot Chicken, Universal Joint and other's, including an excellent Thanksgiving dinner at Pack's Tavern. There are a couple of things you should be aware of, though, that didn't bother us but might not meet your expectations. This is not a secluded mountain cabin. It is a group of cabins outside Candler with a subdivision adjoining the property. It is, however, a rural farm with crowing roosters and horses. You can see the subdivision in the winter, though I'm sure it feels isolated when leaves are on the trees. We loved the indoor fireplace, though we couldn't get the outdoor fireplace to draw, so we couldn't use it. There are two cabins, including Hickory, that look like log cabins on the outside, but the rest of the properties look like regular houses. Our cabin had a "morning kitchen" that was well equipped with a microwave, coffee pot, sink, some dishes and utensils, a small refrigerator and a toaster. We had an amazing week, watching my alma mater play basketball on satellite TV, watching the snowfall, and fishing and shooting sporting clays near Hot Springs. We spent a lot of time playing our guitars and staring at the fireplace. If you're looking for a secluded, authentic mountain cabin getaway, there are better options. You might be disappointed to drive up to a normal-looking house near a neighborhood and 5 minutes from Bojangles Fried Chicken. But, if you're looking for a little luxury in your mountain experience and access to all the Asheville area has to offer, this is a great experience." read more

I happened across this place on the internet trying to plan a short getaway weekend for my wife and I. I have to say we were very surprised. When we first pulled up to our cabin, The Chestnut, she was a little concerned. The exterior is very rustic. Once we entered we were very happy with the choice. The place is adequately stocked with all that you would need. However, the ambience was over the top. Nicely appointed, stone fireplace inside and out, and don't even get me started on the comfy bed! I chose The Farm to get married in for my wedding a few weeks ago and it was absolutely a fabulous experience! I had Kirin as my coordinator and she went above and beyond to get all of the crazy little things I planned to come to life. The planning process was a joy with her and The Farm gave great recommendations for vendors. We used many of their recommendations and all of them were phenomenal. Kirin brought my outdoor vision to life and took care of every little detail which made for a non-stressful wedding day and a perfect wedding and reception. The Farm is so beautiful and provided such an amazing back drop for my guests and photographers. Having the cabins on site, and allowing me to use the space in different ways made the experience feel more unique and homey then other venues I looked at. The Farm is very organized about the planning process which keeps you on track and Kirin, is extremely helpful and calming during the planning process. I really can not sing her phrases enough. A lot of my experience here is going to be different from yours, as we had a special collaborative event between The Farm & and an outside vendor, but I'll share what I can about The Farm itself. 1. The cabins are what make this place. If you're having a wedding and you have a big family or lots of out of town friends coming. WOW. What a fantastic way to keep them all together and having fun! There are 7 cabins on the property ranging from a beautiful log cabin with a king size bed and a whirlpool bath to a huge recently built house that can sleep 8 or more. My family and friends loved it and it made the weekend. 2. The farm itself, you don't see much, but the horses and the donkey are nice and it's great to see all around. It makes for great back drops in photos and as you enjoy your event. 3. The venue. It's not fancy, but does it need to be? I really couldn't ask for much more, maybe a better walking path for the bride to come down so she doesn't get her heels stuck in the ground? Aside from that rather niggling detail I love the building, the giant fireplace, the open space, the porch area and we would have loved the outdoor spaces but it was a bit chilly to really enjoy them for our wedding. 4. The kitchen. It's got everything and they can probably cook just about anything in it. 5. The staff. The ladies who set up and worked with us to book the space and make this whole event happen were on it and I couldn't have asked them to be any more than they already were. The Farm cleaning staff that cleaned up the venue after our caterer cleaned up the kitchen and we were wrapping up the reception on the other hand need a little help. The kitchen had set aside a large plate of food for the guests to nibble on while they danced and partied after dinner and we had a good bit of cake still after everybody wrapped up for the evening but The Farm clean up staff just dumped it all in the trash and told me "It's been out for 4 hours and has to be thrown away" well I'm sorry, but I paid for that food, it wasn't theirs to throw away. Even worse was the cake had only been out a couple hours and the bride and I hadn't even gotten a slice other than the nibble during the cake cutting. She was devastated that so much of the cake had been thrown away. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend them. Just make sure to tell the staff not to throw away giant platters of food and cake! read more

If I could give the Farm 100 stars, I would. They exceeded our expectations! We initially loved the venue because of its organic, laid back feel and the fact that there were cabins on site for family to stay on was a huge bonus. Once we started working with Kirin and Chef Mike, we were even more happy with our pick. Kirin was fantastic. I cannot say nice enough things about her. She truly cares about our desires, she is a go-getter and very detail oriented. We could not have done it without her. She coordinated with all the vendors, made suggestions about layouts and really made the whole process seamless. She was incredible and really made me feel at ease. Chef Mike was also fantastic. When we went up for a menu tasting, we didn't know the food would be THAT good. It was all delicious and we loved that it was farm to table. Chef Mike prepared the food as if we were getting it the night of the wedding, with condiments, sides and all. The presentation was awesome and the food was to die for. Probably the best flank steak with chimichurri sauce I have ever had. People raved about all of the food. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to any bride and groom looking for a rustic elegant feel. Kirin and Chef Mike will definitely take care of all your needs. People came up to us all night telling us how much they loved the environment with the twinkle lights, the smores bar, the romantic fire place and the amazing food. It was very laid back and fun. We got married at the farm 11/18/17, and if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! We came in from St Louis, so clearly planning the wedding was a bit challenging. I didn't know anything about any wedding related services, and I wasn't able to check anything out before committing to it. The Farm keeps a list of reliable and recommended vendors to ease your wedding planning woes; every person we worked with came from that list and was outstanding! We rented cabins on the property for the weekend of the wedding, which was a very cozy experience. The owners put so much thought into every detail of each cabin. The outsides look like rustic mountain lodges, but the insides are gorgeous and comfortable. They feature a lot of handmade wooden features and local touches, and the place is ~15 minutes from the heart of downtown Asheville. Yes, Uber drivers will go out there. I can't say enough good things about the food. The Farm has a full service kitchen, headed by Chef Mike Ferrari, so you don't need to book any catering. They hosted a bridal brunch, and all of the food for the big day. People still text us a month later, not to tell us how good we looked, but to tell us how amazing the food was. They try to source everything they can locally and organically, and made options for my bridesmaid with Celiac disease, and for me with my onion allergy. When it came to the big day, these folks had it down pat. We had our own wedding coordinator, (Shout out to Bethany!) who gave us her personal phone number for any and all concerns over the big weekend. She facetime'd me in the weeks leading up to the event so I could look at all of the decorations they have available and pick things out. Having never planned a wedding before, I had no idea what I needed to take care of, but Bethany had it all in hand. She helped me pick out, plan, and organize everything! On the big day, they picked me up from my cabin in the golf cart, drove me to the first look site to meet the photographers, and kept the entire day running without a hitch. They pack to-go boxes with dinner and cake in your get away car in case you're hungry after everything is over, but they also dedicate a server to the bride and groom, who will mysteriously appear with appetizers, plates of food, and your personal drink order without you ever mentioning a thing just when you start to want one of those things. We were completely pleased with our experience at The Farm, from the beginning of our first visit to the end of our reception. Kirin was our coordinator, and throughout the entire process she was responsive, helpful and cheerful. We felt confident that she had everything organized and under control, and that the wedding day would run smoothly. When the weather threatened to change our outdoor ceremony plans, she was calm, flexible and inventive. She also worked tirelessly on the entire wedding day! The venue itself is beautiful and picturesque and the entire place has a very relaxed feel. Having so many decor items present on-site and included in the rental package made the decorating process easy. Chef Mike and Kristie were also a delight to work with throughout the tasting and menu planning process. All of the food - appetizers, main dishes, and sides - was delicious! We received numerous compliments from our guests. A pre-wedding brunch for the bridesmaids and family was equally delicious. We also stayed in the cabins there at The Farm. Having our family and the wedding party all on-site for the weekend made the day much more relaxing, and we felt as though we had the whole property to ourselves. Every staff member we came in contact with... from planning, to set-up, to kitchen staff, to wait staff, to bartenders... were constantly personable and helpful, and just pleasant to be around. Just wonderful! This place is so beautiful. You are close to the town but would never know it! Beautiful rooms and the chef, chef Mike is so talented. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. You really get to know the owners and the other guests. There are 3 horses and a super sweet friendly donkey named Francis. The food is AMAZING! I would say the experience is very interactive and personal. You can tell that the Goodfrieds really care about you enjoying your stay. I strongly recommend staying here and they have a BEAUTIFUL wedding venue. Just spectacular. Couldn't give this place enough stars. Truly wonderful for all ages. I live in Jersey and you can't find places like this here. The Farm was just amazing! You hear horror stories that something is going to go wrong. Not for me everything was perfect, and everything went according to plan thanks to the help of this amazing staff. The chef made a custom menu for our wedding in June and the food was absolutely AMAZING!!! The cabins were also great! Everything was up to date and clean. The owners were also very helpful. The toilet was running in my cabin and they came out and fixed it right away! Couldn't ask for better service. read more

The Farm, from the charming cabins and cottages, to the beautiful event barn and the breathtaking property was the perfect venue to make our dream wedding a reality. I felt, as many brides-to-be probably do, completely clueless as to how to go about planning a wedding and booking vendors. Andrea put me to ease from the moment I met her. She listened to my ideas, and made sure every detail of our wedding was just as we had planned. The day of our wedding was the most relaxed I felt during the entire wedding-planning process because I knew everything was in her very capable hands. I was able to sit back and relax in our beautiful cottage with my bridesmaids, as she coordinated with all of our vendors and set everything up. She was there every step of the way, making sure things ran smoothly and without a hitch. I'm not a very detail-oriented person, but somehow every detail of our wedding felt personal and designed just for us. I attribute that largely to Andrea and the wonderful and gracious staff and owners of the farm. The Farm is an absolute dream. Our immediate families and bridal parties stayed in The Farm's cottages for three nights (Thursday-Sunday). That was something truly special... to all be staying in beautiful cottages on the wedding venue site with your loved ones is a gift. It made the weekend feel more like a vacation with all of your loved ones rather than a stressful one-night thing. I can't explain how amazing it was! The ceremony in the gazebo and the reception were just magical. Everything was so breathtakingly beautiful. The Farm provided all of the dishes, linens, and supplies (like mason jars, props, chalkboards, corn hole, etc).. and that made the reception a stress-free and really fun event for everyone. Multiple people told me it was by far the best wedding they have ever been to- and that there was something special about the wedding. I think what was special was The Farm. I wish I could go back in time and be back on the Farm again. The staff is amazing, kind, helpful, and accommodating. It truly felt like home.. and like a dream.
