The Venue is the PERFECT space for a wedding reception! Our wedding reception was in the Market and Mezzanine room, which are absolutely stunning spaces. The market space is tastefully decorated and the attention to detail is very apparent. The mezzanine level has beautiful exposed brick, wood ceiling beams, and a fantastic chandelier giving the space the most romantic atmosphere. My husband and I seriously cannot stop talking about how beautiful the reception and cocktail spaces were, and many guests have told us that it was one of the most beautiful weddings!! Additionally, the separation between the cocktail space and the dinner/dancing area was wonderful. My husband and I were living in Scotland while planning our wedding so the first time we saw The Venue was the weekend of our wedding and we were just so impressed!! Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be and more in large part due to this beautiful venue. The food was DELICIOUS!!! I have been to many weddings, and without a doubt, this was the best meal I have had at a wedding. To be honest, it's one of the best meals I've had. All of the staff was so kind, professional, and attentive to our needs. Deandra was AMAZING-- so on top of it and made sure everything was where it needed to be, that guests were given the correct meals and that we were happy!! Maddison with The Planning was so helpful throughout our planning process and was a FANTASTIC day of coordinator. We did not experience a single hiccup in our day--everything was absolutely perfect. I just played a wedding there. Hardly anyone wore a mask. It was like a frat party. When I asked the hostess why they weren't enforcing the mask and distance guidelines set up by the governor, she just shrugged. Seriously? I did have a good mask on and stayed in the corner a good distance from everyone, but when I saw the cocktail party and everyone screaming and shouting and no masks, I left early. I hope I am safe, but I will not be surprised two weeks from now if half of the staff is sick because they weren't wearing masks either. I don't care how convenient a place is and what their service is like. When you put money over lives, it's disgusting and immoral. read more

We just had our wedding and reception at The Venue on May 12, 2018 and could not be more happy with everything! The Venue itself is beautiful. Our setup was amazing. Food - Their food is just plain awesome. Among the items we picked, the Chicken and Waffles, hummus, BLT sliders, and Grilled Cheese & Tomato soup shots were all really darn good. Presentation was amazing and taste was amazing. Service - Special shout out to Deandra for the superior support and service. As an individual she really stands out amongst those who helped make our day awesome. And she led a team of really great staff who left none of our guests wanting. Really and truly this was awesome. Decor - From the beautiful uplighting to the well placed candles to the lights, tables, chairs, and the general setup - everything was on point and totally worth it. From the first moment we walked in the door, we absolutely fell in love with this event space. From the first moment we met Deandra, our wedding specialist at The Venue, we immediately knew this was the right place for us! And boy were we right. Everything was perfection! It is a shame this wedding planner could not get their act together. The night of the rehearsal, there was no plan, no organization whatsoever. The so called wedding planner did not have an itinerary and did not lead the process. The minister needed to take charge and on the spot develop a plan based on his prior experiences from other weddings. We should have known this was indicative of things to come. The wedding was to start at 5 and of course the bridal party did not arrive on time. There was nothing to eat or drink while we waited - not even water. At 530, two wait staff stood at the steps with trays of champagne. After several of us wondered whether or not we were allowed to have any, one of us asked the staff if we could have a glass and they aloes us a glass. Then other folks followed suit. They never passed the champagne around. You had to find these two wait staff where they decided to stand and ask for a glass. The ceremony went off without a hitch. Then the open bar cocktail hour started. There was one bartender for 110 people. Twenty minutes in line to have a cocktail. There were three passed appetizers by the waitstaff. We noticed two wedding crashers walk in and head for the bar. One of the guests caught them and escorted them out. No security and wedding planner no where to be found. We also noticed the poor placement of the gifts/envelopes table - right next to the entrance! Asheville is known for many vagrants and homeless in the downtown area, so one could easily run in and grab all the envelopes. Two hours later, the cocktail hour was over. The room of the ceremony was converted into the room for the reception. After the ceremonial dances, the tables were called one at a time to the buffet. Ours was the last table and by the time we got to it, NO MORE FOOD! Several guests asked the wait staff if they could bring out more food and the answer was no. We asked the wedding planner for more food and the answer was no. So six of us had appetizers for dinner. Someone else clued us in that there was a vegetable table so we had some roasted vegetables. The wedding planner nor wait staff suggested this. The band was fantastic. We danced all night. The bar opened up a bit and we had cocktails and made the best of it. The end of the night came quickly (11pm) and I was charged with helping the bride collect her things. The wedding planner now decided to take charge and directed us to remove everything from the premises - every piece of decor, cupcake tiers, gifts - everything. We were told nothing could be left behind because there was another wedding the next night. We asked the wedding planner if we could return in the morning because there was too much to carry and we were told no - everything had to go. The bride, her family, friends, were all tasked with carrying items back to the hotel. It was shameful the way everyone was treated after having spent thousands to have the wedding there. The wedding planner was inexperienced, disorganized and outright unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this location for that reason. The Venue is a beautiful location but you will suffer the consequence of the poor wedding planner. read more

The Venue is one of the most exceptional wedding venues and event spaces in the downtown area. Its central location, massive space, and well curated interior are second to none. I've had the pleasure of attending multiple events at The Venue, and they've all been just fantastic. The team that manages and runs the space is professional, courteous, and unparalleled. Where as some people want to host more DIY style events, if you're looking for a wedding or a reception that takes it to 11, this is your place. I'd like to take a brief moment to appreciate the Venue's kick ass catering staff. Where as most venues host outside caterers, the Venue has the ability to cook and prepare items in house. From presentation with a buffet, to serving table by table, I've always been highly impressed by the Venue's attention to detail and execution. The biggest issue that I see with the venue is parking. I've seen weddings solve this with the use of shuttle buses, which is smart, and when attending events here I'm likely to park in the parking deck down the street, but explaining parking to out of town visitors can prove challenging, and frustrating on a busy downtown night. If you choose to utilize The Venue for one of your future events please keep this in mind and prepare as necessary. read more

My best friend got married in Asheville recently and held the rehearsal dinner at the Venue. It was perfect. The upstairs area is where the table was set up with a mini bar. We were able to hang out on the balcony and take in the pretty views of the area. The atmosphere was very open yet inviting. All of the photographs came out really well because the lighting was terrific for taking pictures. The food was spectacular. Most memorable were the fried green tomatoes. I have had many tasting of these yummy little tomatoes and the Venue was top notch. The salmon dish was well prepared and the presentation was great. Not sure if this is an actually dining establishment or not- but if you are looking to host a dinner or special occasion I totally recommend the Venue. read more

We had our dream wedding at The Venue, and we couldn't have been happier. The food, the decor, the ambience, the professionalism, and attention to detail, all was perfection. Our guests raved about the food, we had a bacon tree and s'mores. The space is so unique, and feels so classy, spacious, inviting, and hip. Plus it's in the heart of downtown Asheville! One of our favorite parts was walking to our hotel which was less than 5 minutes from The Venue, in our wedding attire while all the people on the street congratulated us. Epic wedding! We just had my son's wedding here. Beautiful! I couldn't have have asked for more. We had both the wedding and the reception here. They magically transformed a room. The food was out of this world. My son and his wife chose this for their wedding venue and it was perfect! They asked us to join them in Asheville to look at different venues and this was everyone's favorite by far. The whole experience, from start to finish was great. They rented the upstairs space which is smaller than the downstairs space, but it was the perfect size for their wedding. There was another wedding and reception going on at the same time as ours, but we didn't hear or see the other event during our time there. The evening they married the weather was extremely cold and windy, so even though they had heaters out on the balcony for us it was still too cold to be out there. My son was upset that the heaters he rented didn't provide enough heat to make his guests comfortable, but everyone ended up inside mingling while the tables were set up for dinner. The food was delicious, service was great, and the entire evening was magical. read more

We just had our rehearsal dinner at the venue. The atmosphere was amazing, great decor and lighting. The food was spectacular and the coordinators were so easy to work with. They were willing to accommodate menu ideas outside of their typical suggestions. The mac & cheese bar was over-the-top incredible, biscuit bar with sausage gravy and fried chicken was to die for, and the farmers market veggies were fantastic. We also had peach and apple cobbler with homemade icecream which received rave reviews. All of our guests kept commenting on how incredible the experience at The Venue was. The Venue staff went above and beyond and made our big day spectacular!! Every detail had been attended to, they were quick to respond to planning e-mails. Stephanie of The Planning service was amazing!!! She literally thought of everything. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our day without a care in the world. There is not a more well run venue in all of Asheville. The decor and facility are beautiful and I would not have changed a thing. The chef created a fantastic meal, which ALL of my guests (even the vegetarians) have been raving about. This is a one-stop shop for all of your wedding ceremony/reception needs. They were very accommodating in getting us in to set up our special request items (my chuppah). I was in an accident earlier in the week, and unable to attend to some of the remaining planning features. The staff at The Venue took care of it all, and made it the most spectacular day ever.
