East West - Farm tables and mismatched chairs for up to 50

East West

(8 reviews)

East West is a gorgeously decorated venue space in West Asheville on Haywood Rd. This space can be…read morerented out hourly and has a capacity of 50. I have been here many times-mostly for pop up craft/art shows, once for a 20's themed birthday party and most importantly, for my own wedding rehearsal dinner. Renting the space for the rehearsal dinner was easy and the owners were super helpful and accommodating. Their contract is very clear and their prices are very, very reasonable! We had 50 people total for the event and when we arrived the night of the party, they had the space set up for us with their dining tables and lovely chairs arranged as well as a serving station and bar area. Their furniture is what makes this place so incredible really-they have absolutely beautiful mismatched furniture, vintage and rustic looking. This is the type of space that you see all over Pinterest. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a small event venue for a wedding or birthday party. I wish I had better photos to add to Yelp because it really is an absolutely gorgeous space!

This is such a cute little venue! I attended a Yelp Elite…read moreparty here a week back and had an excellent time. I never knew this event space even existed! I was told that renting it out on a weekday is super reasonable- only $65 an hour. You can't beat that! I love hosting large parties at my home, but I can never fit the amount of guests that I want in my tiny little home. Anyway, the venue was set up in a beautiful way- full of antique and vintage furniture items. They have restrooms, but I'm not sure if they have a kitchen. I've been told that they will set up the room however you'd like it. When I was there, they had out three very long tables and I think there were about 50 of us. They have a few parking spaces but I was able to park in the alley to the right of the building. Not sure if that's allowed. I will DEFINITELY be planning my next big event here! What a fun place!

Our son and his bride were married August 14, 2021 at the High Vista Golf Club Laurel Room. The…read moreevent coordinator, Liz Williams, was kind, knowledgeable, competent and helpful. It really couldn't have been a more perfect experience from the point of view of the groom's parents : ) I wish I had the chef's name - the food was excellent! The bride and groom were able to select menu items in advance during a tasting and the items served at the event did not disappoint. Everything exceeded expectations! The servers were very safety conscious and were masked and careful about serving and presentation. The venue was beautiful. It accurately describedon the website, "The Laurel Room at High Vista offers a stunning panoramic view of the Blue Ridge mountains in all directions through a room wrapped in windows and balconies. The interior has a timeless A-frame wood beam construction, vaulted ceilings, and expansive stone fireplace." For our son's wedding, he and his bride selected the rain or shine option of an outdoor wedding under a tent - an elegant solution that was perfect for wedding guests to stay safe and enjoy the ceremony. We moved downstairs to the Robinson Pub for the cocktail hour and again, guests could enjoy the pub or remain outdoors at tables. We moved to the Laurel Room for the toasts, food, music and dancing. Once again, with open doors and windows and access to the wrap-around balcony and patio, guests were able to safely mask indoors as needed and enjoy dining in the fresh air as chosen. The servers were professional considerate and responsive. It is hard to say enough about the wonderful wedding experience at the Laurel Room! If you are considering a venue with amazing views, safe options and even easy parking, you have found the perfect wedding place. Thanks Liz and colleagues for an evening that was enjoyed by all and will be an amazing memory for a lifetime!

Bring cash or you will have to add it on to a drink purchase. Speaking of drinks, the bar downstairs is very slow. A solo bartender was struggling to keep up with a line of customers that wasn't very long or complicated. The outdoor patio was a nice place to sip before heading into the show. Downstairs bathrooms were spotless. Is this place brand new? The music hall is beautiful. and it still smelled like lumber. It does get a little hot towards the front. I tend to prefer warm to cold, but it was a bit warm in the front. I thought it was just warm all over but when I walked down the center aisle during a break in the set I felt a gust of cool A/C. Dress appropriately, as the musicians felt it as well. There were a few small technical glitches but nothing that marred the show - the lights went out but it was right at the end of a song so it was pretty cool timing for an accident! They popped right back on. If you're thinking about walking from downtown Asheville...maybe don't. It's downhill as you walk towards the river and uphill as you walk away so it's not a casual stroll in either direction. There are also two small sections with very limited street lighting.

If the band is loud (such as the Petty band) I suggest you sit towards the back. The "VIP" rows up front may be ear shattering. For more laid back groups the first three rows are excellent. The owners go out of their way to make things pleasant. When the weather is good going downstairs to the bar and then sitting out on the patio is great. They make very good mixed drinks, but have an average selection of wines (still drinkable). there is only some small snacks for food. Good sized private parking next door and generally some street parking as well.
