Im absolutely a sucker for natural medicine and this place could be said to have nature's cure for anything that ales your body. I knew this place was close to home and my office, and had seen it several times on the way to pick up baddddd badddd Bojangles breakfast biscuits a few times over the last year. Fast forward to a month ago when the cube farm cooties were going around my office and the weather was whacked out raining along with being 99999 degrees outside. I started feeling the cooties of sinusitis set into my nose. I decided I was not going to try meds since they usually don't work when OTC. I popped in at *get this*...7am! ( PERK!) and bellied up to the bar for a double wheat grass shot and a full flu fighter juice. I've also tried the beach bowl twice, and the heart healthy juice. LOVE LOVE LOVE. JuiceBox is a great spot for breakfast or lunch with juicers, smoothies, and açaí bowls. I haven't haven't had anything That I haven't liked. They do juice cleanses and will reuse your jars if you tell them. Hubs loves their peanut butter açaí bowl. I love their smoothies. I try to have something different every time. Up until about a week ago I'm pretty sure I was the only one in Jax not to visit Juice Box.... Glad I took the brave step and tried this neat local joint. It is a little on the pricey side, but everything is authentic and fresh. I ordered a fresh squeezed juice and it was made right before my eyes with fresh fruit. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. 2 stars is just being nice for this place...seriously. I saw great reviews for this place, so we decided to check it out for a healthy snack before a movie but we were extremely disappointed with our experience. Firstly, the customer service was mediocre. The staff barely acknowledged us when we entered. We just got a "hold on..." Then, we waited over 15 minutes for one Peanut Butter Acai Bowl. There were only two staff members present, but a "hold on..." doesn't count as a greeting for a first time customer. I would love to say that it was worth the wait...But honestly, it was not worth the wait. I have had better Acai Bowls at a local food truck and for a cheaper price (Big Island Bowls). I came back here yesterday for lunch and got the avocado toast, and the hulk smoothie. Both were sooo yummy and filling. I've been going between this place and grassroots in riverside. Absolute terrible delivery/to-go service. If you order a COLD açaí bowl and a HOT oatmeal bowl, why would you stack the two together and tie them in the SAME page? Stopped in to grab smoothies for myself and my daughter. They were delicious. No problem or extra charges for customizing. Everyone was wearing masks. The places seemed super clean. I saw staff wiping down the counter area between customers and they were super friendly. This seemed like a place with a lot of regulars so I would assume that there service is always this good. Ya know when flavors are so fresh that it almost renders you speechless? That happened. I ordered the virgin mojito which I was informed they put their own twist on it - it worked. The ingredients were banana, pineapple, mint leaves, ginger and coconut water/milk. I only like ginger in moderation, so I asked if they could tame the ginger down a bit. Last Friday I was feeling under the weather, not really with an appetite and decided to yelp a smoothie place. Alas, The Juice Box popped up and really near where I was at. It's at the Deerwood Lake plaza right next to Larry Giant subs. As I drove to the place I realized I had seen it a million time but never stopped... was it the location... probably. It's a small place but colorful and very welcoming. I stepped in and the cashier right away asked what he could get me. I looked over the menu and decided to just ask what he suggested for someone who was sick. He suggested a juice rather than a smoothie because the body would absorb the nutrients quicker.!After debating between the green cleanse and the full flu fight I just told him to decide for me. As he prepared the juice I looked around the space... display of different protein add ins and diverse health products. Colorful tables, gender neutral bathrooms and they even have a Ms. Pacman! Juice was ready pretty quick; he made the green cleanse. It was good although I have to say the celery was something different for my tastebuds; I had never had celery in my juice. Not bad at all just something different. I saw they have açai bowls which I haven't had in forever not since being in PR or Hawai'i. I'm pretty picky about my açai bowls and they are not offer in a lot of places here in Jax but they did look good and had a good variety. Long story short I would recommend this place. It has a nice variety of juices and smoothies that will definitely meet the expectations of the health conscious. Food is good but service is mediocre at best. Staff has no sense of urgency. It's sad that the only thing that holds me back from returning is the wait time. 1 person ahead of us and he purchased a smoothie. I got 2 bowls and waited 20 min. 1 bowl was made in the first 5 min and the next one was started 10 min later. If they would've made the bowl right when we ordered it, it would've easily only taken 5 min. C'mon now. Do better. About $7 for a protein smoothie. It was sooo good- like a Peanut butter milkshake. The staff were young, and they were sweet. Super busy there, so it took a little while to get my smoothie. There were lots of regulars who called in their order- so it must be a strategy the consistent customers prefer.
