I'm from Santa Barbara and they are notorious for overpriced açai bowls. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offered a large açai bowl for only one dollar more than the small bowl. I ordered the berry bowl and it offered a cool refreshing taste after some hiking at Joshua tree. They have a very clean restaurant for customers and they have indoor and outdoor seating. A group was pleased with the items we ordered. Only suggestion is to deep clean the indoor tables, in between the cracks of the tables are lots of dried up granola, and it looks a little crusty. It's rare to meet people with such great sense of humor, confidence and personable characteristics in the retail or food industry! This dude loves being here and you can tell by the way he handles each order! Also he was intuitive so when I asked my friend "should we get one and split it in two?" After a long and hot hike at Joshua Tree, my friend went to pick up coffee at Starbucks. I'm not usually a coffee drinker but I was so quenched for a drink so I came next door to Juice It Up! I got the Detoxify in their medium size with light ice. The drink was fabulous. I was looking for a green juice that was a little bit sweet and this was the perfect one. The update comes a few years later because I tried another type of smoothie and am including a friend's opinion. The store is still immaculate and the service is all about the customer. Prices have increased everywhere, but, Juice It Up has kept it within reason, while some other businesses have not. You can eat in, and you'd want to if it's summertime, but it wasn't. The 2 smoothies went into the console in the car. The smoothies tried this time were a blend of 3 flavors: strawberry, pineapple, and mango. The only comment I might have is that, if you like strawberries, which I very much do, a triple combination like this can dilute how much of the strawberry flavor comes through, but still be very good. Nonetheless, the smoothies were thirst quenching, the ingredients seemed to be of good quality, and, well, they were indeed smooth. Juice It Up is a nice place to stop when really thirsty, it's not quite mealtime, and you need to be tided over. It can also make for a great liquid snack after eating a meal somewhere and then ending up here for "dessert," especially on a warmer evening. read more

Cute little spot with huge acai bowls! I stopped here for a quick and healthy-ish breakfast before visiting Joshua Tree National Park just down the road. When I first walked in, nobody was out in the lobby. Finally, a nice older gentleman came out and greeted me. It seemed like he was working by himself. It was pretty early in the morning and I was the only person there, so it was no biggie. Juice it Up is a small chain juicery that also specializes in smoothies and acai bowls. I came specifically for an acai bowl, and I that's exactly what I got. I ordered their large protein acai since I knew that'd I'd be hiking all day throughout the park. First of all, a large is really hugmongo here! The pictures don't do it justices. I probably would have been fine with just the regular size, but the more, the merrier. The first thing that I noticed was how fresh the fruit was. This bowl was topped with strawberries and bananas, and both tasted extremely fresh. Since it's a large size, the layer the granola on both the bottom and top. Flavor-wise, it's a lot different than your standard acai. It's not as sweet and fruit forward as the standard taste, but it was still pretty good. I noticed that it started to melt really quickly after I ordered it, but that's probably because it's so damn hot in Yucca Valley. I actually didn't finish it all because I got so full, but it was very refreshing and was just what I needed to give me that boost of energy before my hike. If I was in the area again, I'd definitely come back for another acai bowl and possibly a smoothie as well. read more

The energy of the spot was beautiful and on top of that, the owner was incredible. He went above and beyond to help me after I left my purse there by accident. I was headed to Starbucks and was pleasantly surprised to see this juice bar next to it so I walked in. The first thing I noticed was how unfriendly the two people behind the counter appeared to be. I was the only customer in the place, not busy at all. I received no greeting or smiles. In fact, the guy and girl behind the counter looked miserable and unhappy. I had to say hello first. Maybe they were hungover and in a bad mood from the night before. I don't know. Thankfully, the owner came out while I was waiting for my order and he turned out to be pleasant and friendly. He is the only reason I'm giving them three stars instead of one. My suggestion to the owner is to train your staff to at least greet the customer when they walk in and to say say thank you. I ordered ahead on the app and didn't realize I was right next to it so I arrived early. They hadn't started my order yet and I realized I couldn't wait, there was a line out the door so I kindly told the employee that I did not have time to wait and to cancel my order. The employee asked me to cancel on the app, in which I didn't because I got in the car and forgot. Less than 48 hours later I was refunded the full amount of my order, I did not contact the business and ask for it. I actually just forgot.
