I normally never write reviews but I'm pretty disappointed. I want to start by saying this is not the employees fault, she was just doing her job! My husband and I ordered an acai bowl and a smoothie. My husband's acai bowl was amazing. But my The Zone smoothie (which I've ordered many times) was awful. It tasted like nothing but milk. I debated going back in to have it remade and finally decided I should since it was supposed to be breakfast and I had just paid $10 for it. After going back in and nicely asking to have it remade (and feeling guilty about doing that in the first place), she told me that because I left the store and drank a few sips before coming back, she had to charge me $6 to remake it. Again, I know this is not her fault, she's just doing her job. But as a customer, that really rubbed me the wrong way. So after all I ended up paying $16 for a smoothie, from juice it up of all places. I'd rather take my business somewhere else if that is the protocol for their customers. I went into Juice it up this morning to get two Zones. The young lady taking our order was very rude, and did not make the drink to the way I specified it. She then proceeded to get an attitude when I asked her to make the drink thicker as I had specified in the order. Her response was "we only have fresh bananas today, so it won't change anything unless I add more ice". I kindly asked her to not add any more ice to the drink we I didn't want it to be watery. She then said "well there's nothing I can do for you" I'm a very frequent customer at this location and have never been treated this way by any other employees. I have overheard a lot about the store's boss. The boss of this store is a rude, disgusting and disrespectful person who will watch employees on the camera and make assumptions on what they think employees are doing and will call employees while at work to cuss them out. The boss is never at the store unless health or corporate come in, in which case they will be there and lie about absolutely everything. They had their employees working in over 90 degree weather with no AC, the inside of the store was worse than outside. Management is also very irresponsible and horrible at their job. Whenever there is a problem like someone needing a refund they have to wait on a boss or manger to give them the time of day because they are never at the store. This is completely crazy and UNACCEPTABLE. All appliances in this store are brown and rusty, this should be a hazard. The walls and ceiling are moldy and turning black. I like this location because the vibe here is pretty friendly. They never skimp out on ingredients or toppings from my experience and they've never gotten an order wrong so far. Overall I'd take Juice It Up! over Jamba Juice any day of the week. My only complaint is that some of the workers sometimes look like they don't want to work there so it ruins the vibe of the whole store. I'd like to come in to a good-feeling place with good vibes and happy people. I've been to this juice it up so many times now and just figured I'd finally write a review because honestly, they deserve it. I come in, I order, I get my smoothie, I leave. I've never had any real problems and I was honestly surprised reading through some of these reviews. It's a smoothie shop like any hundred smoothie shops out there and it gets the job done. The girls who work here have never been rude to me and they always get the job done to the best of their ability. As someone who works retail I will never understand how customers can be so entitled. To be frank, every bad review on here sounds like full grown adults acting like children without any regard for the real world. If waiting a little bit longer than you expected for a smoothie upset you so much that you had to go home and write a bad review like the world owes you something, you really need to get your priorities straight. This joint is run by a group of high school kids who seem like they have to go out of their way not to give a shit. There is no personality in here aside from the wallpaper. While smoothies in my experience have been consistent, so has the lackluster give-no-shits attitude of the staff. How does a place that promotes such healthy positive fun juicing go about hiring the most complacent kids that the local high school has to offer? I ask about it and another ( equally clueless) girl comes over and charges the same, so I complain and another (...) comes over and I try and explain the math which after 12 minutes of holding up the line she GETS. Wow, what a pain in the ass, just read the menu and input the numbers, right.
