Outstanding smoothies and breakfast. I came to the shopping center for the bagel place but the atmosphere there was not great so we went to the job a place next-door. Much better atmosphere. Like a fancy Starbucks. Coffee is through these were great and the breakfast was exciting and served well. Only issue was slow service as it took a while to get your food. I've been consistently unimpressed with this place since moving to the area almost 10 years ago. Note that the "Best of..." and "Reader's Choice" certificates above the entrance/front window curiously end at 2015. Impractical setup for those who want to eat-in and those who want to order and wait, or pick-up (when it's busy, you can't tell who's waiting in line and who's waiting on their order unless you ask). The times I've stopped in have been mostly for coffee, and the results alternate between the wrong drink altogether, a badly-made drink, or omissions from said drink. I'd feel like less of a jerk for asking them to add whip to my mocha if, for instance, mine and my girlfriend's patience wasn't on Empty after waiting *24 minutes* for 2 coffees this past Sunday (other people waiting around before us seemed similarly disgruntled). Service is always extremely slow. I called an order in was told give us 20 minutes, 40+ minutes later I finally got my food with no apology for taking so long. Employees didn't see to care, that's a shame because the food is typically very good. I may never go back. read more

We had fish taco (1 large) and a buffalo chicken wrap (get a drink). Food was really good, but the folks here got slammed at lunch time and we ended up waiting a long time (30+ min) for carryout food. If you come when they're slammed be prepared to wait. Food is worth the wait, though, and they have a cute area to wait and chat with whomever you came. Cost more to add avocado to a fish taco, and comes with lettuce, on flat bread, not cabbage and a tortilla but was delicious! read more

I've been to Juice & Java several times and always complain about the wait. Today was ridiculous. I ordered a small smoothie and a tuna wrap which took 50 minutes!!! I will say that the food is good and I like the atmosphere, but when it's busy things are very slow. I would recommend picking up a menu and calling ahead. read more

Great food, amazing smoothies, cozy atmosphere...The people that work there are THE BEST. It gets busy at times at Juice-N-Java for these reasons, worth the wait and there's plenty to occupy your short wait in the meantime; internet access, lounge area, t.v., and outside seating when it's warmer. It takes time to make good quality food and drinks, have a little patience. It's a perfect place to meet a few friends, for a date, or when you just want a smoothie and a bite before your shift. My FAVORITE spot in Mechanicsburg. I go there at LEAST 4 mornings a week for their smoothies. The people there are so friendly and kind, it really does make my day! Ordered take away and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. (For cold sandwiches?) It took 40 minutes. I got a California club wrap that was awful. It came with approximately 6 potato chips and was basically lettuce and some kind of dry, crumbly turkey. I will not be returning. read more

Let me say that the food is average, but the management and staff are condescending, arrogant and very rude to customers. I was a Borough resident going back twenty years, and most places in town are owned by friendly people who treat their customers with respect. It is sad to say that Juice and Java is not one of them. I do appreciate the fact that the manager - "Joe" - attempted to be kind in his response to my earlier review. However, anyone who had the opportunity to read management's original response to my review (which has since been amended to try to "make nice" over the situation) can see that the vitriol in the language used defines both the management and the establishment. In addition to being unprofessional, their response only attempts to distort how they treated the customer in this instance. If anyone would like a copy of the first response that was posted by the management (including the elementary admonishment "you should be ashamed of yourselves" - among other hateful remarks) I would be happy to provide it. Let me be clear: my wife purchased discount cards for our family from a local athletic organization. The discount card states (among other local deals) that a customer is to receive 1 free smoothie for 1 full sandwich purchased. It is pretty simple. While the card clearly states at the top that the "Card has unlimited use", each member of my family just so happens to own a card for themselves (3 were purchased). So, a mother and two children (who each have their own card) simply wanted to exercise the discount that they had purchased. Three family members with their own card trying to utilize a discount is not any different than three card-owning high school kids coming into the premise and requesting the same deal, or three grown adults, or three senior citizens, etc. Any reasonably intelligent customer (or vendor for that matter) would arrive at this conclusion. It wasn't just that a mother and two children were refused from using the discount card for their order, it was the belligerence that was received from management and the shouting that occured from the manager on duty. No customer should tolerate being treated this way - and had profantiy been involved, we would have immediately contacted the police. I can understand a level of arrogance or incompetence from front line in staff in commercial retail (unfortunately, this happens), but when it is delivered from management, it is highly inappropriate. I was a witness to the discussion, and I can tell you that as soon as the manager began talking with my wife, she could not get in a word without being cut off and shouted at. Had anyone been willing to listen, it could have easily been explained that each member had their own card - and if there is a 1 discount per family regardless of the number of cards purchased - then this discount should not be offered by this vendor because it is simply misleading. We will be notifying the issuers of the discount card that this vendor is not being complicit with those who have purchased the card. Educated customers who appreciate fine food that is delivered by friendly and appreciative owners have plenty of choices in town and throughout the Harrisburg area. You would be wise to spend your money where you will be treated with more respect. read more

They have very good wraps and sandwiches. I frequently get the Cali club which I think is really good! Also have good smoothies (Caribbean dawn and blue banana). But the service is so slow. It is very rare that I go there and have fast service. It takes them a long time to make the smoothies and food even when they aren't busy, which is unfortunate because I love going there. read more

I hate doing low ratings but after this morning, yikes. My husband and I walked in to grab 2 coffees to go, it took a few minutes til we were acknowledged. The guy that took our order was friendly enough, but the girl with a long ass ponytail and NO HAIR NET was extremely rude. She snatched the cup outta the guys hand to make my "iced latte". I worked in food service for years and am very aware of safe and clean food practices. Long hair when making food is a no no. My husband got a self serve coffee that was awful, it tasted stale. My latte she yelled out was ready and I asked if they had cream, (I didn't realize it was self serve) and she says "it's over there, GET IT YOURSELF" I was like Okay??!? Rude! I could tell by the oily sheen of my iced latte it was shitty and no amount of cream was gonna fix it. It was undrinkable. I walked outside and pitched it in the trash after one sip. We were there once before and ate, the food was okay, but now I'm definitely tainted from the experience. I don't get the hype. read more

I love the food and atmosphere here typically! However last visit it took about 30 minutes to wait for a salad when it wasn't busy. The older lady in the back didn't use gloves as well which isn't sanitary at all. Overall the food is good, however my experience this one time was just awful. Great wraps and great iced coffee (I suggest either the Buffalo Chicken wrap or the breakfast panini) It's a little pricey and you do have to wait a while for your order (even if they aren't busy and you're the only one there), but other than that it's not too bad. Really cute place with a nice coffee shop menu. Wait times are way too long, however, for soups and sandwiches (15 min to spoon soup in a bowl?) and the young help is neither welcoming nor gracious. I would even say they are surly. I have never been thanked for my business. It's really a shame because if the counter staff were trained better and more appreciative of customers I'd come a lot more often. Never seen anyone there who looked like a "manager" or like they were in charge of the surly counter kids. I have been here about 10 times in two years because it is convenient for work. read more

I love their smoothies (Strawberry Colada!) and their flavored coffee is great. As a decaf drinker, its tough to find flavored decaf that actually tastes good and they have lots! I frequent J&J frequently with my girlfriends for breakfast and lunch on a regular basis. The food is fantastic, the chai is fantastic and the smoothies are fantastic. I have successfully used my discount card that the previous reviewer mentions several times without issue. I have also dealt with Joe for many catering events and have found him to be friendly, helpful and very, very accommodating. I highly recommend this fine establishment! read more

I don't drink coffee, so a lot of their menu isn't for me. However, they have plenty of other selections that I do like, especially the milkshakes. They also have a nice selection of desserts which are right up my alley. My only complaint is that the last time I was here, the temperature was a bit cool. It was cold outside, but even after sitting inside for 30 minutes, the chill didn't go away. Bump the thermostat up a few degrees. :) read more
