It's the kind of place that feels perfect for a night out--whether you're grabbing cocktails with friends or making a stop during an evening downtown. Everything feels intentional, from the vibe to the drink menu.

It is found tucked behind the building with only a small, letter-sized paper sign marking the entrance. No flashy signage, no obvious storefront, which adds to the appeal if you're into that kind of hunt. Walking up to it late at night can be a little intimidating but it is well lit which I greatly appreciated! Once inside, the space is dimly lit and small, which makes for a genuinely intimate setting. I'd say it's good for a quieter, more conversational vibe rather than a loud night out. We went with the bartender's choice: pick a base liquor, then two words to describe what you're after. I went with vodka and "slightly sweet, refreshing," for $18. The bartender nailed the brief but it wasn't a drink I'd think about again or specifically order by name. Solid execution, forgettable flavor. Service was the real standout. Our bartender was excellent at walking us through the concept and translating vague requests into something that actually worked. That, plus the atmosphere, is enough to bring me back to see what else is on the menu since we made it there just in time for last call so I ended up only having one drink.

Our waiter was on point, knowledgeable and funny. He really added to the experience. The food was excellent. I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the empanadas. I ordered a salad for myself but it was anything but basic. The tuna was divine and the pasta was delicious. Portion sizes are huge so I feel like that justifies the price point. Also, they do a table side pasta service/show where they toss the pasta in the cheese wheel for the cacio e pepe I believe. I got a video of it but can't find it on my phone! Parking was across the street and easy for me even on a fairly busy weekend.

Normally we would have had a bottle of wine but given that we had these excellent bar tenders we tried their drinks. We both had the Teres Major steak. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, as requested. Neither of us liked the overly salty sauce covering it, but otherwise it was good. The potatoes accompanying it were excellent. Service was superb. Our waitress was attentive, pleasant, and hard working. We probably will try it again. Especially the SpeakEasy.

First off, walking through the lobby and checking out the art is worth a visit on it's own. We also checked out a holiday market outside before warming up inside with a cocktail. I don't normally go for holiday drinks because they're often so sweet, but I ordered the crimson hearth which was similar to a negroni with bourbon and it was excellent. It was served in an ornament on top of of a garnished glass that I then poured over the giant ice cube... great presentation. It was rainy, cold, and foggy so we couldn't really take in the views, but I hear they're spectacular. I can confidently say that a trip to Greenville in the future won't be complete without a trip to the Grand Bo or at least the bar dwonstairs.
