Having perused the menu and always in search of decent burger, we booked a table effortlessly over the Internet. The restaurant itself is at the base of the Kimberley Hotel, with sport being shown on various TVs dotted around, but it never intruded on the dining area. The décor was modern, but comfortable, with various pieces of striking artwork adorning the walls. We were shown straight to our booth type table by a helpful member of staff, and whilst we chose from what is a copious menu, the friendly owner, proudly explained each one of the burgers. His enthusiasm for his creations was impressive. Burgers ranged from plain, to ones adorned with onion bhajis, and a 'New Yorker' which was a burger sandwiched between two pancakes dressed with maple syrup! So much choice; as well as burgers, they are famed locally for their pizzas too. You could even have a plate three smaller burgers or three smaller pizzas, if you struggled to make a firm choice. If you were feeling particularly ravenous you could have stacks of numerous burgers from 2 to 5, each having a name like 'Blackpool Tower' and 'The Shard'. Suffering from quite a heavy cold, which was annoyingly suppressing my appetite, I plumped for the 'Black Beauty', a burger with black pudding inside it, I know it sounds wrong, but it was delicious and the accompanying crisp fries and dressed salad, complemented the meal perfectly. What I did like about Burgers & More though, as well as the impressive service was that my wife, not being a huge burger fan, just fancied egg and chips, which although was not on the menu, was made for her without any fuss. I was very impressed and I will return to sample more of the menu, hopefully when my appetite has returned!

McDonald's on Cambridge Road in Harrogate town centre is your typical McDonald's, which seems to be…read morein the centre of every town and city these days, it has the added benefit of being one of the few places in the town centre to be open after 18:00, it's 24-7 openings are perfect if you're more of a night owl than a morning person like myself. With the nearest other McDonald's store being over 5 miles away, it is the only location within a good distance and can get pretty busy with customers and delivery drivers, so the downstairs area can feel a little uncomfortable at times. The staff seem friendly enough and the service was quick, the inside of the restaurant did remain clean but was poorly lit. Plenty of touch-screen kiosks to order food, alongside the My McDonald's app are in place here. There is a small range of seating outside and downstairs, most of the seating is upstairs though, which is slightly more comfortable. 3* - Typical McDonald's, if you can barge your way through the delivery drivers you'll be fine.

It's also very good value, with that burger priced at £5 and chilli cheese fries and trailer trash fries, meals in themselves, at £4. They also do wings which I shall go back to try. The trailer trash fries involve pulled pork and are really delicious - that's about as good as pulled pork as I've had in Manchester, I think better than Red's or Cocka Doodle Moo down the road in Hazel Grove. My burger involved some good quality bacon, a fried patty of mac and cheese. I would have liked some ketchup but couldn't see it around and feared insulting the staff by adding to their masterpiece! The burger meat isn't quite as good as Filthy Cow, but good nonetheless. Some of the other creations get pretty wild Almost Famous-style, including a donut burger (or is that Solita?). I really liked the set up of the restaurant which had red booths, country music playing and drinks served in plastic red cups. As is obvious from the review it takes a lot of the best of the other burger restaurants in Greater Manchester and puts them together in a winning combo. I am close enough to walk to this place, which is both good and bad for my health (especially as they do takeaway). No doubt I will be back.

So we walked down the street, and had the choice of Zizzi and Gourmet Burger, so we picked Gourmet Burger. After a while, we were seated and we ordered. I had a cheeseburger with skin-on fries and they were both great and freshly cooked too! We did have to wait a while to get our food but it was well worth the wait. I was almost defeated by my gigantic burger! I wanted a salted caramel milkshake but I forgot that they had milkshakes. Silly me. The toilets were very clean but had one of those hand dryers that keeps turning on and off randomly, so that was annoying and I ended up having to use the toilet roll to dry my hands. Apart from this, everything was perfect!

Kebab has always evoked memories of drunken nights, questionable hygiene and grease but all that is…read morelikely to change if Simply Kebab have their way. It is obvious as soon as you walk in that this isn't what a kebab shop looks like. It's clean and airy with a large counter displaying a variety of salad items. The staff were a cut above as well. Unfortunately as well as upping the standards they have also upped the price with the result that I paid more for a standard kebab here, out of town than I would in the city. They serve an impressive array of kebabs here and I will certainly be treating myself again in the near future. I put the disorganized nature of the service down to the newness of the venture.
