As many of you may know, one of my quests has been to discover the best of Leeds' pizza. This may be a bold statement, but guys - I think I've got it. Journey over, quest done, throw the fedora onto the coat hook, x marks the spot and this fantastic new place has got the edge on any of the places I've tried in sunny Yorkshire. Truly, I think I've found doughy, cheesy, tomato-y, nirvana. Now, I'm aware when you write a 5 star review, you run the risk of giving people high expectations. I sincerely hope that if you read this, they are met, since I'm very much in love with my local pizzeria and gelato-house. (I may have made that last word up.)
So, let's begin with staff. They're flippin' lovely. They go out of their way to chat, make sure you feel at home, and ensure you've the best experience possible. On my last visit I let them know we needed to be out within the hour for an event, and my word they sorted us swiftly! Such genuinely lovely service is essential for any decent business, not to mention fun banter and chat, of which we had plenty whilst they served us.
Next, the food: I ordered, and have had twice now, their four cheese pizza. It comes as a square so that you get more pie for your buck, and I've honestly not found a place with a more delectable balance of delicious tomato sauce, quality cheese, and fluffy well cooked dough. It's oven baked, so you know, and made right in front of you by their enthusiastic chefs. Whilst I might ask for a little less feta next time, the mix of the four cheeses is divine, and you can tell they've not scrimped on the good stuff. Top tip: they're more than accommodating if you want to add a few veggies into the mix.
They do deliver locally, but go steady with the boxes as it's quite a 'wet' pizza, so very easily disturbed in transit. If you're super careful, you won't mess it up... And now all that's left is the task of making my way through the menu. But you know what? I think I'm the right person for the job. No one will delight in it more than me.
P.s. Try the gelato, if you know what's good for you, try the flippin' gelato. Seriously. read more
